Should be named farescam

Should be named farescam. They advertised a flight for one price and charged me 3x time that. I called twice the first time I gave my prn number to their customer rep and was placed on hold for 15 min. She never checked back in with me and eventually disconnected. I called back I got a man. His customer skills were but except he knew what to tell you to get you off the phone. I never got an email like he told me. I emailed the company and haven't heard from anyone. Not only will I never use farescam I am no longer using kayak either. I will stick with skyscanner this is the second time of me having some mess with a third party in which the deal with. I deserve a call

This business will not last long

charged me for a flight, but told me it was overbooked and didn't give me a ticket. So I bought a ticket with someone else. Still trying to get my money back from them.

Was charged $1,407! NO TICKETS

Tried booking frontier flights to Vegas through Kayak, 2 tickets from LA at $55, with bag the total came to just over $200. Received an email shortly after that my flight could not be booked. However; I had a pending charge for .. $1,407!!!!
I called the airline to see if this was an active booking and it was not! Frontier told me there was no booking for me and that my reservation was declined.
Tried calling FareScan to dispute and they just give you the run around. This is a complete SCAM!
I don't know why Kayak uses them, but I will not be booking through them anymore.

Update 3/12: We are continuing to get the run around. We have filed escalations with FareScan and Kayak, with no help issued.
In response to FareScan’s check in below, your customer service skills are horrible at your center. I can’t believe the way they have spoken to us. They yell, they talk over the customer, and they send you into absolute confusion.
If any one is reading this thinking of booking with Kayak or FareScan, I am begging you DO NOT! $1400 loss on my household has been devastating and neither company has put forth genuine concern in any professional manner.

Big fraud company

Big fraud company, dont go by cheap tickets they will loot you if ever you need to cancel or modify your ticket later.
They did not even leave covid cancellations, and are charging any where 200-400$ fee for a ticket which has gotten cheaper.

SCAM FRAUD I booked fights with Farescan and due…

I booked fights with Farescan and due to COVID19 the US banned travel. We were told by the U.S. Dept of Transportation that all flights needed to be refunded. When we contacted Farescan they said they were not responsible for the refund thought it was with Farescan we booked travel. The airline has filed bankruptcy and Farescan is telling me to get the refund from the airline regardless of the fact i booked with them. They guarantee absolutely nothing and will never make an exception nor a refund. I am looking into the Class Action Lawsuit with another reviewer here with a similar experience. Contact him and lets put these scammers out of business. You get absolutely zero customer service. They speak over you the entire time telling you over and over how they refuse to give refunds. Thank God i placed this $4,658.00 on a credit card that i can dispute and be refunded. I just let Farescan know they can deal with my credit card company instead and bad reviews. Never use Farescan... pay the extra $30 a ticket... youll save in the long run. Horrible horrible company

Bunch of Liars and Stealers

Bunch of Liars and Stealers. My flights to Spain got cancelled in September 2020 and I received confirmation email from these guys stating refund has been approved. I have been chasing them since then for my refund but they don't seem to care for their customers. There is this guy Everett who was in contact with me last year and now doesn't seem to come over phone anymore and whenever you ask them to connect you with their supervisor they just hang up the phone. After reviewing all reviews and feedback I realized the only way to teach these guys a lesson is to file fraud claim via your credit card company so that when big banks get involved these liars have no choice but to settle. The bank asked me for proof of refund confirmation and I forwarded them the email. They informed me that there is 3 weeks of review time and within that time if I don't receive an update or refund from these scammers, bank would go ahead with the claim and take the matter in their hands. Farescan Scammers if you are reading this you know your deadline now.

STAY AWAY!!! I've been fighting this company for three months for a refund for a reservation that was not booked. I've never experienced this much runaround from a business before. They are thieves. I have no idea how they're connected to Kayak.com but I'll never use either service again.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They are just scammers and you will lose your money.. Please contact with me if you want to join the legal action against these fraudsters.

I wish there was 0 star because they don't even deserve 1 star.

My story:
I booked a flight for my mum by using this company in Dec, 2019 (Turkish Airlines). In March, as you all know, COVID happened so we had to change the flight to September, 2020. Turkish Airlines waived the change fees but somehow farescan still charged us 472$ (ticket was 765$!) change fees. At that time we were quite panicked about the whole COVID situation so we accepted these fees. (totally my mistake.. I talked with the airline later; they told me that I should not have paid anything to that company.. apparently everything they said to me about taxes etc. was a lie.. thats another story..)

Anyway.. then September came but Turkish Airlines cancelled the flight due to Covid. So we applied for a refund from farescan. They said they will refund the original fee only (765$) and they said it will take 1-3 billing cycles.. So I waited for 3 months.. of course I did not get my money back. I started calling farescan almost every month since then and every time they lied me saying "We are waiting money from the Turkish Airlines."

At last I called the Turkish Airlines and they told me that they refunded the company in October. (They sent me the official refund receipt.) I called farescan again but the same lies; I should wait another month.

Funny thing is.. I trusted these scammers so I waited that 1-3 billing cycle for refund.. By waiting for 3 months, I missed my bank's dispute window (1 year) so I can't get any money back from my bank either.

Basically this company stole my 1243$ and there is nothing I can do.

I filed a report with FTC (Report # 130147400) and also started a legal action in united states. Please contact with me if you want to join the lawsuit.

Do not use this company!!!!

Update 7/25. Farescan never issued me a refund after 5 months. I did get a refund by entering a dispute with my credit card. If you are calling Farescan multiple times for a refund just stop. Call your credit card company now and file a dispute before the window of opportunity closes. Farescan wants to string you along until you are unable to file a dispute.

Update 4/3. Farescan still has not issued me a refund. Do not believe their promises of a refund. File a claim with the FTC and report them for fraud with your credit or bank card company. They will not refund you. They are a scam and Kayak by extension is also.

Update 3/7. Farescan still has not issued a refund. Do not believe their stories, file a fraud claim with your credit card immediately. The refund is not coming.

Update 2/23. Farescan will leave a canned response on trustpilot like they did below. They haven’t issued my refund or contacted me again. I urge everyone to dispute the Farescan charges immediatly. Do not wait, the refund is not coming.

Do not use this company!!!!! Beware, Beware, Beware!!!!! I booked flights on farescan only to get an email shortly after saying they could not book my flights. The problem is they charged my credit card for the flights even though they did not book them. Their customer service is terrible and gives you the run around when you call and email. If you are unlucky enough to use this company and need a refund I would dispute the charge immediately. Do not expect them to do the respectable or honest thing as a business.

This company is the worst ever

This company is the worst ever. No one should book through this company. I had flight cancelation in March 2020 and since then the havent refunded my money. They been lying to me all this time. First they said that the airline didnt process refunds. Then they said the airline started processing but because it took too much time they had to resend my request again which will take more time. Then they said that it will take even more time. Then in October they agree that they will refund my money but they will have to keep processing fee and that they will send check. Then in December they said that they wrote the check in a different currency and that they will have to rewrite it. Its February now and i still havent received my money. When i call now i see they even changed their company name.
This is the worst company ever. I had enough.. i will go through my bank to extract my money from their account as well as ill go after them legally. This is crazy. Dont know how they are in business.

Read their reply below.. that’s another lie. No one contacted me nor I got the money back. Liars!!!

WE TRIED BOOKING A FLIGHT FOR $110.
WE ENTERED OUR CREDIT CARD INFO AND IT TOLD US IT WAS UNABLE TO BOOK AND THAT OUR CARD WASN'T CHARGE.
WE ENEDED UP BOOKING DIRECTLY WITH THE AIRLINE.
THE NEXT DAY WE GET AN EMAIL FROM "FARESCAM" FARESCAN THAT OUR FLIGHT WAS BOOKED FOR $155.
THEY CHARGED US WITHOUT OUR CONSENT FOR MORE THEN QUOTED.
WE WERE DOUBLE BOOKED BECAUSE OF THESE AMATEURS.
IT WAS A HEADACHD GETTING OUR REFUND WHICH IS STILL PROCESSING. AND THEY SAY 7-14 DAYS.

Won't provide Airlines refund to the passenger

The Airline has provided clear guidelines that all refunds are carried out in about 21 days.
Firstly, Farescan refused Refunds stating this national carrier does not refund.
I found the Airline's Refund policy on the Airlines website, I sent FareScan a snapshot. It clearly stated they were fully refunding all passengers and that those who booked via agents should work with the agents.

They shot back a reply stating they've raised a request for Refund stating "Air India refund is restricted. Once airline release refund then we will able to process as of now request is on hold." This is after months of follow up.
When I asked them to provide some evidence ( Support request ) of their request for refunds, there was no reply. So when I called up their customer support, "Brett" tells me off there is no such number. The tone is rude and abrasive.
The Airline is consistent - If I can provide them a Refund Request Number, they would process refund and even update me on the status. Farescan will not provide the Refund Request Number. The airlines confirmed there is no refund request raised against my ticket number.
Oh ya, and there's this deadline before which I need to rebook tickets via farescan else " We can't say what might happen to your ticket. The airlines could file for insolvency etc. We can't help you much."
I'm pursuing this further with the concerned authorities unless farescan comes through in the next 2 days with the refunds. And by the way, according to them, the Airlines is wrong and FareScan is always right. How do they know this? Because, according to them, I am not the only person waiting for the refund. People who'd requested refunds even before me are still waiting, why was I being so difficult?
And ya, so what if I didn't get a reply to one email to Farescan. I should be trying again. Afterall everybody is busy. "Like get off the phone and do it now".

Please be informed that Air India is not providing any refunds as of now.
However, as airlines keep updating their policies, we are closely in touch with them and the moment they open the option for refund, we will expedite the same. You are requested to allow us sometime to work with the airline and get the refund processed. However, we are completely dependent upon the airline for the refund.
Further more, we also request you to send an email directly to the airline copied to us and help us in our effort.
We appreciate your patience and understanding.

This company is terrible

This company is terrible, NEVER AGAIN! Months and months go by, still waiting for decent communication and a refund on a flight that was cancelled in October. Actual communication and real customer service is abysmal. If I could give negative stars, I would - Be warned, they suck.

This company should be investigated for…

This company should be investigated for stealing customer ticket refund money. and been dealing with them for over 6 months, and everytime i had called in they will tell you they are working on it. trust me you dont get your refund back. better just call the credit card company.

DO NOT BUY YOUR TICKET FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE A BIG TIME FRAUD COMPANY. THEY WAIT THAT YOU PURCHASE YOUR TICKET FOR A CHEAP PRICE FOR THEN TO TELL YOU THAT IS SOLD OUT AND YOU END UP LOSING ON THAT DEAL. THEY CALL TO VERIFY IF THE PERSON IS TRAVELING THREE DAYS LATER, WHICH IS RIDICULOUS. DO NOT GET FOOLED.
