I feel like this store is very disorganized. After sitting in waiting for over 10 minutes on a line, finally, another cashier was called to the register to assist the other two whose registers weren’t working or open. I found it very rude and disrespectful that after I placed my items on the counter, the manager comes and tells the cashier to ring up her items behind the counter. And paid behind the counter that’s not how a business is supposed to be ran.

This cashier told me to kiss her (a**) and kept signaling that using her mouth and touching her behind. Enough times that customers in line with children told her to act like she was at her job not at a bar. The language on this “woman” was beyond me. When I asked to speak to the manager she said she is the owner.
I beg to differ as this store would not be open after the way she treats paying customers.
I was able to record and take pictures as she would not stop. How is this allowed when the store has so many cameras that can catch this employee harassing me on this visit and previous visits as well. I am waiting for a response from the compliance office with corporate family dollar but speaking to someone local would be ideal as I would hate this experience to happen to anyone else. I was able to take multiple pictures as this employee feels that comfortable that there will be no repercussions for her actions.

I haven’t been in a family dollars in Detroit so long that was super friendly, store stocked up with everything to purchase! Nothing in the aisles, I mean they even had underclothes, I am truely thankful and will come to Grandriver n Griggs Family Dollar for now on. I don’t even live by there. TY SO MUCH FOR MEETING THE NEEDS OF A FAITHFUL SHOPPER :))

If I could give a no star review I would.

The store manager does nothing but sleep in the office, harass customers, and threaten to fire his employees if they aren’t doing his work for him that isn’t managerial level.
- He refuses to help check out at the cash register, he ignores the phone, he takes money home with him, he breaks the store locks, he doesn’t make copies of the keys for his employees, he threatened his employees for the most trivial of things, he has made spouses of employees cry in the middle of the store by yelling at them IN THEIR FACE because of being there more than just a few minutes, and continuously badgers female employees while trying to strong arm the male employees to do what he wants.
- He badmouths employees in front of customers, while trying to turn them all against each other, and purposely sets employees up for failure in tasks by not training anyone and expecting other employees to do it.
- The turnaround is to the point no one stays for more than a few months, and only three have been there for more than a year at most because of his constant harassment and illegal activities.
- He has given countless people food poisoning by lying and returning expired product to the shelves, also restocks storage containers and broken goods too high to the point they can and have fallen before on employees and customers. He blames employees for not moving it, when he is the one who put them up there.

The employees do their best with only ever having 2 people in the store at a time because they can’t afford more than that, and the store manager just sits on his backside the entire day doing nothing to help anyone, so I can’t complain about that. However, I will complain when he threatens cancer patients and employees going through a really hard time with expulsion and continues to make a horrific hostile environment for them to force them to quit on their own since he can’t legally fire them.

Atrocious behavior, disgusting man. Do not support this place whatsoever, the employees have earned a break with not getting paid nearly enough to deal with this man alone, less so the sheer amount of shop lifters that keep attacking the store specifically.

They don’t honor their digital coupons.

Do NOT shop here if you have a stroller or children with you or even just in general!! I have been a loyal customer at this specific location for 8 years and NEVER have I been treated so poorly! Me, my husband, both of my children(ages 5 and 3 months old), along with my disabled brother in law were shopping at around 6:30pmish on 02/04/2025. We only needed a couple small items and we were using the stroller with its attached basket for the items. The front door has a sign stating "No backpacks", which is understandable because so many people steal from this location. In the 8 years I've shopped at this location I've never once been treated so poorly by any member of staff when it comes to my stroller. I get it, I could easily steal something if I wanted to. But I digress. This woman claiming to be the evening manager, who didn't have any identification of being a manager or even a name tag very rudely walks up and shoves a shopping cart at us saying we HAVE to use the shopping cart and NOT the stroller. There was no other explaination other than "you have to use the cart". We take the cart because again, we get it we could be stealing, but if this "manager" would have been nicer and just explained why then I wouldn't be here writing this review.

Oh but it gets even better. We go to check out and one of the other associates asked my husband if he was having a good day and if everything was alright. He calmly explained the situation, even though the entire store full of employees and customers witnessed what this manager did. We check out and leave, and this manager(sure didn't act like one however) follows us outside just to berate us in the parking lot and yell and I quote "I DONT CARE IF YOURE MAD OR IRRITATED I CAN BAN YOU FROM THIS STORE!!" as customers are walking in. This store has cameras mind you. This woman not only yelled at 3 fully grown adults, but yelled at us in front of young children who dont understand what is going on!!

As she didn't have any kind of name tag on, I don't know her name but I hope that whoever her superior is fires her. And the store needs to put up a new sign stating "No Backpacks or Strollers". I hope no one else deals with what we had to tonight. Absolutely do not shop here unless you want to be treated poorly!! This store has surely gone down hill!

The manager accused me of stealing and walking around he act like I'm going to steal I feel uncomfortable with him following me

THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO ACCEPT OTC CARDS AND WHEN YOU GO TO THEIR STORE THEY ARE NOT LETTING YOU PURCHASE ANYTHING THAT IS OTC ACCEPTABLE!!!

Store not giving sales price that is in weekly flyer. False advertisement!!
Employee said that she was told not to sell item for sale price and if she does she will be fired.

The Family Dollar on 1735 S Fourth St
Allentown, PA is the worst. Can never find the workers not only that every time I go there they are out of helium for the balloons. Like how? That’s what you’re know for BALLOONS!!!!!!!! The worst family dollar I have ever been to.

On 12/14/24 in the evening, the employee supervisor spoke to me in a rude and belligerent manner. Noone was at the first counter so I went to his station to pay for my items. The senior worker told me it wasn't open, pointing to a sign. He also argued with me about the price of an item that was misplaced. Very nasty attitude. Fam Dollar in Elizabethtown PA.

Last time I went in there, I purchased a pack of figs and after I opened them I realized that they were expired, which is unclean. I couldn't return the figs because I had already thrown the receipt away.

Less than a 1 Star.....First time visiting store had an employee mouthing off the F-bomb every other word talking about her Grandma dying and going to Louisiana but it looked like a no call no show, and cussing about the Manager not believing her story. All the employees throwing around the N word at each other. They have broken moldy freezers, cobwebs and spiders everywhere not related to Halloween. There are boxes down every isle you cannot walk down them. Items misplaced and mis priced everywhere. An old man employee wandering each isle trying to look busy instead of working, and a cussing unprofessional Manager that screams at Employees in front of customers. Filthy, and smelly all around nasty store. They did not have change in the register. Corporate needs to look into this mess.

I am a longtime family dollar customer and the sheer amount of money I spend in that place is astronomical. After cashing out I lrealized that I grabbed the wrong flavored Doritos. I asked if I could swap them out and the clerk told me I cannot return food. 30 seconds after cashing out. That's funny because last time I grabbed the wrong item at the same store it was a frozen pizza. I made it all the way home before realizing it. I drove all the way back and they had no problem swapping it out. I guess I will spend my money elsewhere.

I had a terrible experience today at this Family Dollar store. I have been buying here for 3 years and it is the first time that an employee is so rude. This woman said she was the manager of the place named SARA. She had a rude and arrogant attitude. I bought two items and I have previously bought these same items for 1 dollar. Now it said 2 dollars and when I paid at the cashier they charged me almost 5 dollars for each item. The “manager” was the worst. She doesn’t know how to speak well to customers. Another very nice employee told me that this manager was so arrogant. I don’t like that my son had to see this situation. Fraudulent prices and a manager who seems to have no education. I hope no one buys here. They put prices that are not correct and then they tell you that they cannot return your money. And this manager should not have this position in the store. Now the customer should be more respected, because we are the ones who spend our money in these stores. Obviously I do not recommend this store. She should not name Family Dollar because almost nothing costs 1 or 2 dollars. They also invent policies so that the client cannot ask for money back.

This company is conducting bad business and not responding to customer concerns. The store in Oakforest Il is by far the worst! I am just frustrated by the awful service that the assistant manager Tara delivers. She is rude! Tara need to be trained on how to deliver a pleasant customer shopping experience and how to do simple math!!!!

The family dollar in Durant Oklahoma the manager is so rude and or she want even talk to you Sara is only one that is friendly

Their employees physically attack customers over shoplifting insured goods instead of legally trespassing & calling the police. Their employee Austin did it around 08/20/2024, and they all condoned it. Especially Xavier. If merely accused, anyone could be attacked next. Family Dollar has a Zero Tolerance Policy for violence in the workplace, and that’s illegal. This is store #3813 in Yonkers.

Visited my local Family Dollar in Alabama, McGhee Rd location. And I must say the employees at this location are aways friendly, polite, and courteous. I just wanted to acknowledge their professionalism on the job. They really Welcome you with a Big smile as you enter the door. Made My Day, It was appreciated.

About 8 weeks ago at this location store # 400 112-C Village Rd., Ste 7 Leland, NC 28451. I walked into this family dollar to exchange a "broken" styrofoam cooler w/ a receipt and the female manager called the police and falsified that the customer (me) had threatened her & was irate; neither is true. The store Mgr. told me emphatically I could not exchange the merchandise that I had purchased the day before; I asked why b/c I had a receipt. She stated if it wasn't broken before I brought it then I was unable to exchange or get a refund. I asked for a policy that was different from having an original receipt to exchange or refund items w/ in 30 days and she refused. I also called law enforcement so they could have record that what was said was fabricated to get an officer to respond. They did come out, nothing happened (wasted tax dollars) & totally unnecessary, I had to exchange my merchandise at the Lanvale (family dollar) in Leland. Family dollar needs to hire a better team-leader at store # 400 112-C Village Rd., Ste 7 Leland, NC 28451...The worst customer experience ever!
