COMPLETE SCAM! Do not waste your money
We attended the Plymouth event on 15th August and I am completely dissatisfied.
I originally booked the Torbay event but received an email to say that Torbay was cancelled but I could attend Plymouth for both of those dates instead.
As I live quite a way away from Plymouth, I booked a hotel for the night for my family so we could make the most of both dates at Plymouth.
Upon arriving at Plymouth Central Park, there was no signage to direct people to the fam fest, we had to ask several people.
There was no parking.
Once finally finding the entrance, there was an hour long queue in the heat with a 2 year old.
We finally got to the front of the queue, the tickets weren’t even checked or scanned.
Then upon entering, I was completely gutted and disappointed to find only a handful of fairground rides, which were all chargeable and not suitable for my 2 year old anyway.
There were no tribute acts, live animal experiences or face painting of which it all states will be there on your website.
There were more food and drink venues and then the exit was 200ft from the entrance.
I don’t see how they can open from 12pm-6pm when it takes 10 mins to walk around the whole grounds.
I feel completely scammed and let down.
We drove quite a distance and was looking forward to a fun filled weekend, only to be met with sheer disappointment.
I have emailed them asking for a refund but of course have been met with radio silence!
If I could give them a 0 star I would
If I could give them a 0 star I would! Cancelled inflatables still not had a refund and ignoring messages
Was in the Fam Fest for 20mins it was terrible half of the stuff advertised was no on
If anyone is thinking of ever booking I would advise you all to NOT! Terrible company con artists
Not really a festival…
Whilst it was probably an okay fun fair, it definitely wasn’t a festival. There was just one small stage with people performing and everything else was rides.
We found it odd that at an event aimed at families the bar sold nothing but alcoholic drinks. We had to get soft drinks from one of the food stalls.
I didn’t use the toilets, after seeing the huge queues I held it in, but they didn’t look very kid friendly from a distance.
We went with a baby who was definitely too young to enjoy it - we had booked on the pretence that there would be ‘baby yoga’, ‘a quiet corner’, ‘interactive characters’ etc but we didn’t see any of these despite circling the entire venue several times.
There were too small rides that our baby could go on, and they were £8 each for less than a minute. It really wasn’t worth the hour and a half trip to get there (it should have been 45 minutes, but there was a giant queue to get into the car park).
Event was cancelled no refund
Event was cancelled. Was offered other places rather than an option for refund. Said i wanted refund. Was told 7 to 10 working days. No refund. Tried emailing and no reply.
I think ive lost my money. Do not book with these clowns
Glorified fun fair.. NOT a festival
Myself and my family attended this event after seeing it advertised on Facebook. It was £20 for a family of four which we thought was a good price for a family day out. This is why I know why it was so cheap.
Upon entry, our tickets weren’t even scanned. It was just a man walking around giving my ticket a quick 1 second glance, this could have been anything, and I wouldn’t have needed to pay at all!
We headed for the toilets as soon as we arrived and I have been to multiple festivals in the past and know how disgusting they get, but to have the toilets RANCID even before the event started was different. There was a used sanitary pad on the floor and I had to explain to my child that someone had cut themselves and had to clean it up because they were worried about seeing the blood!! Went into the next toilet and there was feces all up the toilet! I know this isn’t the festival fault, but there was no cleaners or anybody manning these facilities! I was disgusting and that’s putting it lightly.
The fair rides were £5 EACH. The fire engine rides were £7.50 EACH. Not to even mention the inflatables were £15 a child and they looked like they had seen better days!
Every single food stand was way too expensive even for festival prices, I paid £4 for a normal bottle of Coke Zero! £3 for a bottle of water!
The whole day was just a money making scheme and it genuinely is a glorified fun fair, iv seen better for free!
The acts for the festival weren’t too bad, the Taylor swift act was a brilliant singer! However she is not associated with the company and that is genuinely the best thing I can say about the day is that she was a good performer.
If you’re thinking of booking for next year… save your money! I spent £150 on a few hook a ducks for my children, 4 drinks, 2 slush and 1 fair ground ride for them. In this day and age that is too much money for an event that was advertised as a festival when it’s not. Also, half the stuff they advertise doesn’t exist. No kids yoga or crafts etc. AVOID LIKE THE PLAUGE! I left after 3 hours!
I wouldn't even give this 1 star!!!
I wouldn't even give this 1 star!!!!
Please see my email below to the company:
Dear Cheshire Fam Fest Team,
I am writing to formally log a serious complaint regarding our experience at your event yesterday, which we attended as a family of four (2 adults, 2 children).
We were thoroughly disappointed with the event, which fell drastically short of how it was advertised, and we ultimately had to leave after just two and a half hours—an action we noticed many other families taking as well.
Our primary concerns are detailed below:
Appalling Toilet Hygiene: Upon arrival at 12:00 PM as the gates opened, we headed straight to the toilet area to use the facilities before they got busy. We were horrified to find that every single portable toilet was in a completely unacceptable state. Despite the event having just started, we encountered splattered diarrhoea, used sanitary towels soaked in blood stuck to the floor, vomit, nitrous oxide canisters ("silver bullets"), and discarded vapes. The urinal area was equally filthy, to the point where my partner refused to let our young son use them. This is a severe health and safety hazard at a family event.
Exorbitant Food Pricing: With a strict ban on bringing our own food, we had no choice but to purchase items on-site—especially critical as my partner is diabetic. Charging £11 for a single hot dog and £12 for a burger is exploitative and entirely unsuitable for an event marketed toward families.
Overpriced Fairground Rides: The rides aimed at children were similarly extortionate, priced at £6 per person for a ride lasting barely a minute. For a family festival, this pricing structure feels unreasonable and alienates the very people the event is meant for.
Overall, the festival was nothing like described or pictured, and the lack of basic hygiene right at the start of the day ruined the experience for us.
Given the severity of these issues—particularly the state of the sanitary facilities—I expect a prompt response outlining how you plan to address these matters and whether a refund will be issued.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours sincerely,
Terrible!
How they can charge entry for a funfair you get at your local park is beyond me! Not enough toilets for children and they were disgusting! £5/£6 per ride, £8 for a cider! and only 1 stage with massive waits in between acts! Absolute joke of a “festival”. Won’t be going back!
Very poor
Apart from the bouncy castle section (which you had to book and pay extra to go in) there was basically nothing to do. Just a load of food vendors and extremely expensive hook-a-duck style games. It was exactly the same as the kind of fair that rocks up on a nearby field. Unprofessional and badly run. I should also say there were huge queues for entry.
Cheap entry to lure you in but…
Cheap entry to lure you in but everything else is massively overpriced and poorly run. Lack of Marshals and any visible security presence. Massive money making scheme rather than an event aimed at proving a genuinely good time for families.
Avoid at all costs. False advertising
I totally agree with other reviewers who summarise the event as a massive, loud and expensive fair ground. Nothing inside is included and no sign of craft tents or child friendly activities. I agree the company should be investigated for false advertising. We left after 30 minutes.
Avoid this like the plague
Avoid this like the plague, it's just a overpriced fair ground, there was no craft tent as advertised which to be honest probably is a good thing because if it fitted with the rest of the thing it would be 15 quid for your kids to stick a couple of loo rolls together, which they would have plenty of because that's all the toilets would have had, one hour after opening and non of toilets had any actual toilet paper, just a few empty rolls! Jokers, oh and of course quing to get in and out of the carparks for an hour!
Paid months ago seeing advertisement…
Paid months ago seeing advertisement lots of activities for families like dirt biking trucks ambulances face painting ect and nothing of the sort. Basically its a fun fair. Need pay for every ride, cheapest being around 4 quid so after getting in there was nothing to do/watch for free besides ofc the performers on one stage. Nothing interactive happening through middle and wasted so much time / money for any standard fun fair. Total waste of time and hardly enough shade for people. Save your money and go to others.
If I could give it 0 I would
If I could give it 0 I would. We arrived early, parking was easy then waited to go in.
On entry we walked around to scope out what was there and honestly from the leaflet I saw I thought most was included.
Every ride was £5 a turn, no food or drink allowed to be taken so food had to be bought there which wasn't stipulated until 3 days before the event, the fire engine ride was £7.50 EACH, the bouncing castles £15 for 2 hours EACH. What an absolute rip of.
Then the toilets... Yes I know it's a festival, yes I know they're not going to be sparkling, but considering the gates opened at 12 and this was 12:10 the toilets were beyond disgusting. There was poo poking out of the toilets they were that filthy.
Considering this is an event for families I can't see how given what we saw.
We left after 30minutes there and 15 minutes of this was debating if we should leave or not.
Don't bother unless you are prepared to remortgage your house to go on hook a duck and have a can of Fanta.
Disgraceful event should be reported to…
Disgraceful event should be reported to trading standards for mis-advertising. No free kids activities once you're in, just a noisy crap stage amid noisy fairground rides that you had to pay for despite paying for the ticket. Better off going to a fun fair for free if you're into that kind of thing.
Shocking company
Shocking company, absolutely ripped Plymouth off with the show they put on. Cancelled the bouncy castles yet haven't refunded, didn't provide 90 percent of the stuff advertised and paid for..waste of money
Just go to a local funfair which is free!!!
Just go to a local funfair which is free. Our local one was much better and we didn't drive 1h 30mins to go! It took us as long to drive there as we were there
You don't get anything extra for paying entry. Everything was very expensive to do and there wasn't much to do. Quite a few people were leaving as we were arriving, which was only an hour after it started. We eeked it out to an hour and a half but there weren't many of the activities advertised.
There was a bike show for 15 minutes every 2 hours, and singers but without knowing a timetable so you didn't know if you wanted to hang around.
So many people were getting frustrated by going to the inflatables area and being told they had to pay extra and go online.
You can't even take in your own refillable bottle of water. Only an unopened shop bought one and no other food. Everything was more expensive than we were even expecting. We spent £7.50 for 3 bottles of water a d £4 for a small slushy.
Wasn't enough to keep us around any longer.
Really isn't worth any kind of money
Couldn't agree more with all the 1 star…
Couldn't agree more with all the 1 star reviews. This event is an absolute joke.
Nothing like the advertisment.
No safety, no shade, not family friendly at all.
Absolute waste of time and money. Do not attend.
WE WENT TO THE PLYMOUTH FAMFEST 2026…
WE WENT TO THE PLYMOUTH FAMFEST 2026 AND IT WAS TERRIBLE! NOTHING ADVERTISED HAPPENED AND THE VENUE WAS TINY. WE PAID TICKETS FOR NOTHING EXCEPT OVERPRICED FOOD AND DRINK.
UTTER DOGSHIT
Purchased early bird tickets for the family to attend a festival in Plymouth.
Correct terminology would be SCAM fest.
Nothing as advertised, appalling staff, utter shambles , extortionate prices absolute D@Gshite, save yourself the indignity of having your money taken and your kids left upset.
This was not a festival
This was not a festival. It was a fun fair with a rubbish stage. Everything came with a massive price tag and most of the things that were advertised werent there. No crafting, no calm corner, no stilts, no robots, no animals, no inflatables. Just a hot, cramped space with a few rides that were £5 or more, food that was so expensive, and singers that could not sing. The music was too loud we couldn't hear ourselves think. We stayed for a hour, then went to the park.
