Best Christmas EVER
My adventure on the Tiburon Explorer over Christmas was beyond incredible. While the animals and incredible waters were the obvious highlight, the staff, amazing food, and incredible accommodations helped make Christmas 2025 one of the most epic I’ve ever had!

Amazing trip to the Galapagos
Amazing trip to the Galapagos aboard Tiburon Explorer and a fantastic land extension.
The crew on the boat are outstanding and the attention to detail is top notch.
It goes without saying that the diving was amazing, whale sharks, hammerheads, mola mola and so much more.

Fun but with issues
Let me start by saying that my husband, my adult daughter and I had a great time. If the Caribbean Explorer 2 is the dive boat that you can afford, do it. There were lots of single folk who wanted to socialize so it was more fun than many boats in that regard. However, this was my 6th dive boat and the least good one. The boat has a smell and you can tell it was built in the 70s. Our toilet liked to flush continuously and our daughter's didn't like to flush at all. One of the worst things: the boat has no keel, really, which means it pitches in the water, and we heard some vomiting and had one nightmare crossing trying not to heave ourselves despite the fact that the weather was not bad. Also seriously, only one dive master was out in the water with the 12 of us, which is not ideal for safety reasons or for guiding (they tell you this ahead of time, but still). The coral is in bad shape and there isn't much sealife. But we did see some wonderful things, including pretty large octopi, huge stingrays, an inflated pufferfish and various little baby fish. The land excursions are really boring and only a good way to stretch your legs off of the boat. So, in conclusion, we did a ton of diving and met some great people so it was worthwhile for us. But we aren't raving about it.

As you noted, we do share in advance that our dive guides are there to enhance the experience and help point out marine life for those who choose to stay with the group. Divers, along with their buddy, plan and dive their profiles accordingly, which is standard for this style of diving.
Coral reefs worldwide have been impacted by a number of factors in recent years, and it’s something we remain very mindful of in how we operate. Through our Dive Green® program, launched in 2008, and our partnership with Green Fins, we focus on responsible practices and doing what we can to help protect the marine environment.
If any issues come up while onboard, the crew is always ready to assist and address concerns when they’re made aware, working to keep things running as smoothly as possible.
We genuinely value feedback from all of our guests, as it helps support our team and continuously improve. Thank you again for taking the time to share yours. We’re glad there were some great moments and sightings along the way, and we wish you many more great dives ahead!

Am a returning customer
Am a returning customer, and the service has only gotten better every time. I do a lot of diving, have done close to 40 liveaboards all around the world, and this one is hands down the best.. Everything is 5 star and top notch, the living quarters, the food, the diving.. the crew is some of the best.. hope to return many many times
Edit: as a solo female traveler, this is the best organized trip.. Jennifer takes care of everything! She makes sure any accommodations pre and post trip are totally safe, and gets me the best price! She probably never sleeps, because every single email with a concern I send is responded to in 10 mins. She’s the best!

Captain Billy, JC and Tinkerbell were great. Absolute professionals. Everything was very well done, the only comment I have is that we should have traveled farther. We were diving Waters that people could dive on day trips from provo. That's wrong. Next time I book with any live aboard comment it's going to have to be more remote. I felt like you guys were trying to save money on gas.

Wonderful diving and crew
This was our third liveaboard and first where it was a week long, and we loved it. The dive spots were amazing, with tons of different life to see every dive (even big stuff like sharks, turtles, octopuses basically every dive), and the dive guides Robyn and Henry were wonderful. The boat is a bit older so the rooms can be snug, but they are comfortable with good AC. Just don't bring your entire wardrobe ;) We got pretty seasick on the first crossing from Saint Martin to Saba, but the rest of the voyage was calm. The rest of the crew were also great, especially Megan and Captain Rodney. The food was also very good and surprisingly diverse -- every meal, even the snacks, were different, thanks to Chef Julian. For non-Americans reading, be aware that there are mostly American guests aboard ;) I am used to a bit more diversity in divers but it was alright. 27 total possible dives, including night dives, all amazing locations. The land tour options were also nice but we skipped the Saba tour given that it seemed mostly shopping-related. Be aware that the add-ons do stack up, such as the fuel surcharge and other fees. Still a great value for money. Very well-organized and safe. Overall, we would definitely go on this liveaboard again and we are already looking up the other options in the rest of the fleet :)

Aboard the comfortable vessel, Caribbean Explorer 2, we experienced beautiful dives daily and we're blessed with a crew focused on providing an excellent customer experience. Captain Rodney insured our safety and put us on awesome dive sites with lots of sea life and interesting structure. This dive vacation was amazing.

The service and guides were amazing and…
The service and guides were amazing and untouchable. The food was okay. The only downfall was that for the price and being the newest ship there was so much broken and falling apart. Particle board trim falling apart everywhere being put back together with exposed screws. The bedroom was not the cleanest and the flooring was coming apart in multiple areas. This boat lacking being built with quality products and finishes.

Great service, very helpful and friendly staff, well organized and world class diving. Cabins are getting old and a bit smelly. Food ist very good but sometimes not really hot. Big plus Jacuzzi, which could be sometimes a bit warmer. Nitrox and fuel charge should be already included in the high price for the Galapagos tours and not be additionally charged on the boat.

Your comments regarding cabin comfort and meals have been shared with the team as part of our ongoing maintenance and review process.
A couple of quick notes for clarity - the Jacuzzi temperature is intentionally capped for diver safety, consistent with widely accepted dive medicine guidance. Regarding nitrox and the fuel charge, nitrox has always been optional onboard as not all divers choose to use it, and we prefer not to include mandatory charges for optional services. Fuel surcharges are handled separately due to regularly fluctuating government subsidies in the Galápagos. We are always transparent about what is and is not included on our website and in the documents prior to the charter so there are not any surprises for guests. While the Galápagos is a higher-priced destination due to its remote nature and regulatory costs, we do our best to keep trip pricing competitive with comparable vessels.

We would definitely do this trip again! Captain Lauren is amazing and all the crew! They take their jobs seriously, are attentive, good at what they do, as well as supper friendly and are fun to spend time with. It was octopus and turtle galore which made the dives special. The dive guides make you feel safe and are enthusiastic about each dive. The food was very good too!!

Red Sea Magic
We spent an unforgettable week diving the Red Sea aboard the Grand Sea Explorer (reservation #34318) with Explorer Ventures, and the entire experience was exceptional from start to finish.
The food alone deserves its own five stars — every meal was delicious, prepared by truly talented cooks, and the dining staff made sure we were never hungry after a dive. Whether it was snacks, treats, or something warm waiting for us, they always seemed to anticipate exactly what we needed.
The dive staff provided VIP-level care the entire week. They helped us into our gear, hung our wetsuits to dry, and were right there to assist whenever it was time to suit back up. Their attention to safety was outstanding as they guided us from the main boat to the rib tender and back again. And after each dive, being wrapped in a warm towel was absolutely perfect after the chilly Red Sea waters.
Our dive guides were the heart of the adventure. Their detailed briefings gave us a clear picture of what to expect, and once in the water, they showed us the magic the Red Sea is famous for — vibrant soft corals, stunning reefscapes, and, for me, the most incredible shark encounter of my life: a graceful thresher shark gliding by just 25 feet away.
For anyone considering a liveaboard diving experience in the Red Sea, Explorer Ventures is the easy choice. They delivered comfort, safety, unforgettable dives, and world-class service every single day. Highly recommended!

The crew was great although there were a few issues with the food—I had declared in advance that I could not have spicy foods or cheese and the afternoon snacks had cheese, there was one night where I could only have veggies and starch but that was remedied quickly.
