Explore Namibia offered a great help & flexibility in the organization of our Namibia trip of February 2024.

Dank Explore Namibia hatten wir einen perfekt organisierten und angenehmen Aufenthalt in Namibia. Die Mitarbeiter waren zu jeder Zeit sehr kompetent und freundlich. Jeder Reisetag wurde mit uns besprochen und sowohl in digitaler als auch in Papierform an uns gesendet. Wir hatten Zugang zu einer App in der auch extra Tipps für jede Destination enthalten waren. Auch während unseres Aufenthaltes waren die Mitarbeiter immer erreichbar für unsere Fragen. Explore Namibia wird auch zukünftig unsere Reisen in den Süden Afrikas mit uns planen und organisieren, da ich nicht auf diesen Ansprechpartner verzichten möchte.

The itinerary and bookings were outstanding. They really listened to what we wanted and adjusted perfectly. We saw so much spectacular country. Stayed in great campsites and saw so many animals, it was truly a trip of a lifetime.

Pros:
They gave us plenty of time to go through all the gear, how to use it, and for us to ask questions. And we are not experienced drivers so this made us feel very safe.
The car was very nice to drive and it is really well equipped.
It is very nice that airport shuttle is included. When we returned the car they drove us to our hostel and still picked us up and drove us to the airport the following day - above and beyond!!!
The roof tent was very easy to use and takes maybe 5 minutes to put up/take down if you do it two people, but you can also do it one person.

Cons:
I gave our arrival details three time but apparently that wasn’t enough because when we arrive in Windhoek there wasn’t a pick-up ready. My mistake because there was one email I hadn’t responded to which is why they hadn’t scheduled the pick-up. But they should probably update their internal processes since they need to receive the same info from me four different times.
The day we returned the car it seemed that they also didn’t know the we were coming. And we were just sorta told to “wait here” in the middle of the garage - which we didn’t do but went to the waiting area (which is quite nice with free water, tea, coffee) so we could sit down comfortably.
Some of the equipment are a bit old and used. The can opener was barely useable.
We only had temperature down to about 10-12 but I Think if it had ben lower we would’ve been cold and needed an extra blanket or thicker duvet.

Extra:
We bought a French press which was one of the best decisions we made - good coffee on a trip like this just made everything better!
When we returned the car we notice they collect and pass on food, we had already given our left over food to some boys at at gass station but this is a much better way to do it!!!

We had a very good contact with Rikie. She always listened to our wishes and created the trip for us exactly how we wanted it.
Everything was well organised.

4 weeks Roundtrip through Namibia in Camper

We made a remarkably nice experience throughout planning and during our trip. As from the start we met only kind and helpful people, although all communication had to be performed via what's app and mail! The whole trip was well organized and all arrangements worked as planned, A great thank you to the whole team! One short notice in addition: if possible, please try to avoid the government owned campgrounds (NWR). The infrastrucure is not in the best shape.

When we started planning our trip to Namibia, we decided to approach this a bit differently to what we normally do (book a hotel and transfers from place to place) and arrange our own self-drive 4WD with a roof tent to have the utmost flexibility in a uniquely remote place.
Our expectations were not only met but significantly exceeded as well, and that is for two reasons:
1. Self drive and camping was indeed the best way to experience Namibia. It gave us flexibility to tailor our trip to our wants and needs, as we were not bound by scheduled departure and arrival times and we were free to plan our travels through a country as big and remote as Namibia based on our preferred timeline. In addition, just by driving on the road, you had the chance to participate in an impromptu safari game as we encountered wild animals such as zebras, ostriches and springboks multiple times.
2. Explore Namibia had EVERYTHING organised for us. From the pick up and drop off to the airport, a comprehensive information pack upon our arrival, an extensive list of items that cover all camping essential gear, satellite phone (thankfully not needed but better safe than sorry), gps and most importantly, their partner had the 4WD in literally pristine condition for our really demanding trip.
We would definitely both the self drive camping option, as well as booking through explore.namibia without a moments hesitation.

De Toyota Landcruiser is een hele goede wagen om Namibië te doorkruisen. Alles was ook heel goed georganiseerd om de wagen af te halen bij de luchthaven alsook om hem te deponeren.
Al altijd een goede ervaring gehad bij jullie!

the rental car was perfect and well organised

The trip was very carefully organized by Andrea who tried to understand our wishes and preferences and everything worked out perfectly! The hotels and campsites were of a very good standard and the recommended excursions were excellent! The app you use for the trip is very useful and simple, containing all the information you need. The welcome on arrival is great, an Explore Africa staff member explains the itinerary and gives you all the details.
The car rental company used is excellent, the cars are new and in perfect condition.
The trip was perfectly organized and we will definitely travel with Explore Africa again!

Expolre Namibie organised a great trip for us. It was a self drive vacation with a 4x4 jeep. We had a good ofline app with all the information and tips, a nice book and map with all the details. The campings and lodges where good and comfortable.

Wir haben uns auf unserer Namibia Reise sehr gut betreut gefühlt, die Auswahl an Unterkünften und Aktivitäten waren perfekt ausgewählt auch die Tipps der Mitarbeiterin bei der persönlichen Übergabe waren hilfreich. Es hat alles reibunglos geklappt und wir würden "Explore Namibia" weiterempfehlen und beim nächsten Mal wieder buchen. Besonderen Dank an Helena, die uns sehr freundlich bei der Autovermietung emfpangen hat und an Silvia bei der gesamten Reiseplanung! Es war eine perfekte und absolute schöne Reise in Namibia!

It was a fantastic experience to visit Namibia with its rich wildlife, fantastic and breathtaking landscape. Met a lot of very nice people and had a very good time at several places.

To reach all these places, Explore Africa Travel has perfectly helped us to get there (from booking until return). We have rented a wonderful car in best condition and equipped. Explore Africa Travel team gave us perfect introduction and was super friendly, literally reading and answering the questions we had. We can only recommend. We'll come back and will count on Explore Africa Travel team again.

Explore Namibia is an excellent option if you are a solo traveler, especially if your budget is not very high and you prefer to explore on your own.
They take care of every detail and are very kind and helpful.

They have great customer service, from the moment I made the first phone call from the UK, to the moment we left Namiba they were just excellent, Firstly the initial planning of our route was very well thought out and they personalised the route as we seemed to modify it a number of times. The hotels and camping places recommended by them were excellent. They also provided us with a smart phone App that had loads of detailed recommendations including a comprehensive map and route description. This App was super easy to use, very helpful. The vehicle they provided, a Toyota HiLux with all the camping kit was almost new with only 25k km and ran wonderfully during out hire, it was spotless when we collected it and nothing went wrong for the entire 2 weeks. Our office contact person addressed any inquires both before the trip and during it promply. We also regarded the costs as very reasonable both in terms of explore Namibia and the costs of fuel, food etc in the country. Would not hesitate to return again and use this company.

Explore Namibia is een Top organisatie! ALLES is geweldig in een gestoken tot het kleinste detail. Wij hebben echt van alles genoten met geen enkel min-puntje. Het is echt een aanrader!!!

Die Tour wurde gut vorbereitet. Das Auto Toyota Hilux war neuwertig und lief ohne Probleme und hatte eine sehr gute Ausstattung mit Zusatztank, Wassertank, Werkzeugen und Campingausrüstung. Wegen der kalten Nächte ist allerdings neben der mitgelieferten Bettwäsche ein Schlafsack zu empfehlen.
Explore Namibia hat eine gute Tour zusammengestellt und war sehr hilfsbereit, als wir auf dem Hinflug 2 Tage in Johannesburg festsaßen und dadurch der gesamte Reiseplan kurzfristig geändert werden musste.

Het was een geweldige ervaring om met Explore Africa onze reis te boeken. Ze hebben in alles meegedacht en de overdracht in Botswana was ook uitmuntend. Vooraf is er veel communicatie geweest en de reis is door Jasper in de puntjes uitgewerkt, met al onze wensen. In Boswana was alles goed geregeld, alle informatie was voorhanden. Zelfs toen 1 van onze koffers niet was meegekomen met het vliegtuig is er door Explore Africa gezorgd dat deze op onze bestemming werd nabezorgd.
Al met al het was een onvergetelijke ervaring en fantastisch geregeld. AANRADER

Het Explore-team dat onze geplande reis invulling heeft gegeven verdient 100% credits. Ondanks dat we relatief laat (februari/maart) ons plan doorgaven (self drive Namibië/Botswana met 50% lodges en 50% kamperen) is het het team gelukt om de meeste campings en lodges te kunnen boeken. Waar het 'vol' zat heeft het team absoluut goede alternatieven uitgezocht. Mede door de inspanningen van het team hebben wij als gezin (4 personen) een meer dan prachtige vakantie beleefd. De ontvangst in Windhoek, de extra informatie en alle reisdocumentatie was zeer professioneel geregeld. Het heeft ervoor gezorgd dat wij 100% konden genieten van waar we voor kwamen.
Absolute aanrader om via Explore Namibië je trip te laten regelen.
