I’ve been using Everand for a couple of weeks now, and honestly, it’s been an excellent experience.
In that short time, I’ve already gone through more than 10 books without any issues at all. The app runs smoothly, the audiobook voices are enjoyable to listen to, and the content library is impressive—there’s a wide variety of books that genuinely match my interests. What I especially appreciate is how accurate and helpful the ratings and recommendations are; they actually make it easier to find the next great read.
Another big plus for me is the value. It’s actually the cheapest option I’ve found, and even when I was initially searching for audiobook services, it consistently showed up as one of the top choices—which now makes complete sense after using it.
The app itself is simple and intuitive to use, which makes the whole experience even better. And having the first month free to explore everything was a great touch—it gave me the confidence to see the real value before committing.
As someone with dyslexia, this has been a game changer. Audiobooks are the only way I can truly absorb books, and Everand has made that not just possible, but enjoyable. For that, I’m genuinely very grateful.
I’m more than happy to continue with a full subscription, even for a year. It’s great value and an awesome app overall.
Thank you, Everand ❤️
When I canceled my subscription they removed access to all the books I had already paid for.

The subscription makes no sense at all, it is like the app decide on its own which content is blocked because of what content you consume. The Marketing makes you think you have unlimited access to their library which is absolutely not true

If you want to subscribe to Everand, don't do this via App if you have an iPhone. They built the app integration so poorly that you pay for the subscription and it doesn't apply immediately or 24 hours after. I reached out to support and they didn't help at all. They also said they cannot help with cancelations or refunds. So they basically stole my 11£ and provided no solution to my problem. My account still shows "no plan" and I have no access to content. Save yourself from this headache
I can’t understand what this company are trying to achieve, other than lose as many customers as possible in the shortest time feasible. Now charging a premium for the privilege of accessing a limited number of books per month. I get more value buying books from Apple, especially via Bookbub. Plus they’ve locked away any decent titles behind the pay wall. Used to be so much better when it was Scribe.
UPDATE 2 (March 1, 2026, 2:35 pm MST):
I have now discovered that the only way to "protect" the books I want to read is to delete my 'Saved' list entirely. It appears Everand uses your interest data to target and hide high-value titles once your credits hit zero. I am now forced to keep an external list of direct links to bypass their search engine. Convenience is literally being punished by this company.

UPDATE 1: (March 1, 2026, 2:25 pm MST):
After investigating, I’ve discovered that Everand "hides" high-value premium titles from search results and "Saved" lists once a user has used all their monthly "unlocks." They aren't actually gone, but they become invisible until the next billing cycle (in my case, March 15).
While the books are technically still available, this "cloaking" behavior is highly deceptive and makes it appear as though the catalog is being throttled. I am keeping my review low to warn others: Your books haven't vanished—Everand just hides them once you've used your credits for the month.
-----------------------------------------------------------
I am a subscriber in Canada on the Everand Plus plan ($23.99 + GST Canadian for a person who resides in Alberta), which is supposed to give me 3 premium unlocks. However, Everand is actively throttling my account by hiding the specific books I want to read.
I have been trying to access 'Dark Age' and 'Light Bringer' by Pierce Brown. When I am logged into my paid account, these books are completely scrubbed from search results and have vanished from my 'Saved' list. Yet, when I look at the Everand website in an incognito window, the books show as 'Available' for new users
This is a deceptive regional bait-and-switch for Canadian users. They are hiding high-value content from paying members to force us to use our monthly 'unlocks' on cheaper, lower-tier filler. It is a slap in the face to the consumer to gatekeep the catalog after taking our money.
I am demanding an immediate billing credit for my February subscription. Because I will lose access to my previously 'rented' content if I cancel, I feel held hostage by a service that refuses to show me the books I am paying for. Do not trust this service—they will hide the books you actually want the moment you pay for a premium tier.
New subscription tear is total rip off . Offers no value better using Audible or others. The app itself functions ok and has good features over all. But the overhand subscription is not worth it. Why :
1- you get one credit per month on the first tear , and if you dont use it, it expires by the end of the month.
2- when you use a credit for lets say audio book you will have to use another credit to access the same book in e format.
3- titles you already used a credit for and reading there is no guarantee to stay in your account as the licensing may expire so suddenly your book poof disappears.
4- very limited AI intelligence constantly populate you book suggestions .
Guys this whole thing has gone downhill so bad that is not worth wasting your money.
When Everand was scribd, I read dozens of books, listened to dozens of audiobooks, there was nothing like it. It was truly a netflix for readers. Now it's a waste of money, of energy, of time. I've never seen a company nuke itself so much, that one must believe that it's a desire to end their company, to take losses, and to stop giving value to people.
We entered the time of a scam economy. And whoever bought Scribd and turned it into this abomination has definitely sucked at the teat of that reality and cheerfully decided to screw over loyal customers and bring us more and more into an age that tells us streaming is worthless.
Just stick with audible, at least you own your books when you stop paying.

The app has become more and more restrictive. It increased its prices and reduced the amount of books you can read to 3 a month. Now I am told I can't even change the highlighting color! After being a loyal client for over 15 years, I can't wait for my subscription to finish so I can find a better option.
I experienced extremely frustrating customer service with Everand. After subscribing to a Plus membership, my unlock credits were not applied, which required multiple contacts with support before they were finally added. Despite this, the unlock credits then expired five days early, preventing me from finishing one of my entitled books.
Everand acknowledged there are known glitches with Apple subscriptions, yet repeatedly redirected me to Apple rather than taking ownership of the issue. After approximately 15 back-and-forth exchanges, the matter was still not resolved and my concerns were dismissed and deflected. Apple declined a refund, and Everand declined to honour the five days of access I was denied.
Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. I would not use the service again and would caution others about subscribing through Apple given the unresolved billing and entitlement issues.
The price is not at all justified. The £10.99 p/m plan includes just 1 title, which anyone could easily finish on a day. I subscribed to read a dramatized audio which comes in parts, so essentially I paid £10.99, to read 1/3 of an audio book. The entire paperback book itself costs £10.99 for context. Their subscription model is ridiculous and needs serious rethinking. Don’t bother.

I have really enjoyed this app until they introduced the premium subscription. So I signed up, I listened to the three books and then went to see the other selection which I was able to access before upgrading. I wasn’t able to find one book. Very disappointed and have stopped my subscription today after complaining to Everand who didn’t help to explain why this was.
If I am paying $16.99 a month for 3 unlocks then why do I lose access to them if I don’t keep buying more “unlocks”. It’s such a scam. I shouldn’t have to keep an active subscription to more unlocks to continue to enjoy titles I’ve unlocked previously. I paid for them.
It's no longer unlimited so not worth subscribing anymore. I just use my ebook library app now. I sometimes have to wait a little bit for some books buts it's free and unlimited!
This app is a rip off. It was formerly scribd and everyone loved that company. I guess everand is a part of the private equity that is ruining everything in america by making people pay too much for too little. I guess when everyone cancels the business will shutdown and go away with the money they fleeced from the suckers that used it. It has no phone service and this is usually the business model of companies that are dishonest or know they have a horrible service. All you can do is fill out some ticket that they send a non response to...what a joke.
If you leave the subscription, you lose your books. I paid for two months, and didn’t even get to finish one book. I had audible, canceled and still have access to all my books.

This company's customer service is horrible. I hope it is just AI and not real people responding to reported issues, because if it is real people responding to those emails, the company should be embarrassed! I downloaded the app and created an account, but haven't been able to go further because I get an error message when clicking on the link to view and select a plan. I contacted customer service and was told to uninstall and reinstall the app. I did that and told them it didn't fix the issue. They then came back and told me about an issue on iOS with audiobooks appearing locked when they are unlocked (totally unrelated to my issue), and I told them I use Android. They came back and told me to clear the cache, so I did. I informed them that that didn't fix the issue. They messaged back and told me to try uninstalling/re-installing the app. I told them they already had me try that. They came back talking about iOS again. I told them again that I have an Android. This cycle of discussion happened all over again. They are not doing anything to help. I will be deleting my account and telling anyone I know not to waste money on this joke of an app.

Before Scrib'd separated it's books section into Everand it used to be fantastic. A great affordable way to read and listen to many titles. The new plans are really awful. I'd rather keep my unlimited sessions and double the payment. If they decide to stop the old payment plan like everyone else I'll be leaving.
I agree with others. This used to be great but they changed their subscription model and now I have access to very few books I want to read. The worst part is they did this mid-way through my yearly subscription so I’m stuck with something almost worthless. Unethical.
It’s a rip off. I subscribed for 4 months - paid to unlock 4 titles. After I unsubscribed, those titles are no longer mine. I have to pay again to listen to the same audio book I paid before.
They are asking me to restart the subscription for me to read/listen my already purchased title again.
Audible and kindle unlimited will be a far better option.
