The microcement is an excellent product and was perfect for my project because it can be applied directly over existing tile floors, which saved a lot of time and demolition. The PU paint is also incredibly durable and worked great for my stairs, giving them a clean, strong finish.

We decided to go with EPODEX for our bathroom remodel and I was very disappointed. First the product took a very long time to ship, we paid next day shipping and didn’t get the product when promised, I believe it came in a week later (if you need time to package the order why have next day shipping as an option and proceed to charge for it when you’re going to ship whenever you want). The biggest issues was the color, I got Sand color which looked great when applying and sanding but once we sealed the walls the color became much darker which threw off the color scheme of the bathroom, it gave me a Cappuccino color and that is not what I wanted at all. You’d think that for the price they would have better samples of what the color is going to look like with the sealer. There was no mention of pigmentation change/intensity with the sealer, if I would’ve know the sealer gave a completely different color I would picked something else. I see the sealed walls in front of me and I’m comparing them with the colors they have on the website and it’s a totally different color…… Beware home remodelers

We did a lot of research on microcement and were excited to find Epodex. Since we were doing all of our floors and kitchen countertop we wanted to make sure we did everything right: preparation, application, etc. Marko was especially helpful and we appreciated having the option to call and ask someone questions. We probably had a dozen phone calls before we actually applied the product. And that’s where it all went wrong.

Since we had very small cracks between our subfloor panels we were told to apply silicone free filler and that fiberglass mesh would also make the microcement stronger. We asked if we needed to use any sort of glue with the mesh, but were told the primer would be sticky enough. It wasn’t. The mesh was curling up all over the place and since the microcement goes on so thin (1/16”), you could still see the mesh through the first coat and even some of the second coat.

We were also sent the wrong amount of product. We were told that what we did order would cover our square footage, but we were about 120 sq ft short. Running out right in front of your entry way is not ideal. To their credit, they did send us more product, but having to
wait a week in between applications was frustrating. We also
noticed the pigment bottles
they sent us were often way short so we had to have those reshipped as well.

When finally finished, we applied the PU topcoat for floors, which be warned, reeks. It took over a week for us to be able to be in the space. I’m not sure how you could use this product if you were living in the space. After the topcoat was applied, we were pretty happy with it, but then noticed cracks after the very first day. Mind you, we weren’t even walking on these floors and they already had cracks everywhere. We were so
upset! After all this work, we have floors that look very DIY, not the sleek look we were after.

Despite all this, we decided to still do our countertops, feeling like it was such a different application that maybe it would go better. And it did. We were very happy with the look of our counters - they almost look like natural stone. But, despite doing two wet on wet topcoats like recommended, we are now noticing that it has not properly sealed the surface so we can see darkened spots where moisture has seeped through into the microcement. So today, after moving into our newly remodeled home, we packed everything back
up to do a third topcoat. But, the product they sent us is bad. It’s all
chunky and gritty that no amount of mixing takes away. We now think we were sent old product. So who knows what our counters will look like in a few weeks, let alone a few years from now. I know this is lengthy, but I wanted to convey our experience thoroughly. Knowing what we know now, we would have gone a different direction.

Best quality epoxy I have tried after many different attempts at making a river table. I am very happy to have found this company because my table is now a center piece in my kitchen and a conversation starter. I have now ordered microcement for two showers, and epoxy for a floor. As with most things ordered online, some things get damaged in shipping or lost or forgotten in the order but their customer service is amazing, especially Nicola. shipping was extremely fast and the missed or damaged items were sent immediately. I had a problem with my epoxy floor and they were very helpful and even sent me some replacement material free of charge. As far as I’m concerned epodex is the only company I’ll use for my future projects.

UPDATE: US Customer support called me directly to indicate that they were aware of the advice given and recommended that the surface be roughened. As the porcelain tile is very hard, we had to use diamond grit (220) sanding blocks. Wear a mask if you use these as there is tile dust that come off the wall. The tile was roughened and two coats of the paint was applied 15 hours apart. Bottom line: the bathroom looks great.

The surface should feel rough to the touch and show visible superficial scratches after sanding.

If sanding with P80–P220 grit does not leave marks or create roughness, the tile surface may be too hard or glazed for standard sandpaper to work effectively.

Without proper surface roughening, epoxy resin may not bond well and could eventually peel or delaminate.
