Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re sorry to hear that the process of uploading and submitting assignments caused stress for you and your family. We understand that adjusting to a new online learning system can take time, especially when you’re still getting familiar with how everything works.

To help students and families feel more comfortable with the platform, we provide step-by-step guidance during the Student Orientation course that walks through how to navigate the system, submit assignments, and communicate with teachers. In addition, our teachers and technical support team are available to assist whenever questions or challenges come up.

At Enlightium, we care deeply about supporting students not only academically but also emotionally. We want the learning experience to be encouraging and manageable for both students and their families. Our goal is to help students grow in confidence and independence as they develop the skills needed to succeed in an online learning environment.

We’re grateful that your family has had several positive experiences at Enlightium, and we acknowledge your concerns about the volume and time expectations for projects. Your experience and its impact on your family’s quality time are something we take seriously.

At Enlightium, our mission is to support students holistically through their academic, spiritual, emotional, social, and physical development, in line with our Expected Student Outcomes. We aim to help students become independent learners, while also recognizing the importance of maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle. When the demands of project work begin to feel overwhelming, it’s important that we listen and look for ways to improve. We’d like to clarify that students may begin working on projects as soon as they enter the project unit. This gives them the full duration of the unit to complete their project, which is usually about one month. Projects and longer writing assignments are the primary ways we measure learning in the online classroom, but we have made significant changes over the last three years to balance the workload. This includes reducing by half the number of projects students are assigned.

We are sorry to hear that the changes made over the last few years have not resulted in a better experience for your daughter, and we would love to connect with you directly to better understand how the project timelines may not be aligning with what’s realistic for your daughter. Your insights can help us identify areas that need adjustment and better support students and families going forward, and we may be able to make some adjustments right away. Thank you for sharing how you’re feeling. We are sorry to hear that school has felt stressful and discouraging for you—that’s never what we want for any Enlightium student. Our desire is for students to grow not just academically, but also spiritually, emotionally, and socially, and when it feels like there’s “too much pressure,” it can get in the way of all of that.

Regarding grades and teacher support, while we can’t talk about specific details publicly, we do see that you are not failing your courses, and your teachers are available and want to help you succeed. When grades suddenly feel very different from a previous school year, it can sometimes be a sign that the pace, course level, or schedule needs to be adjusted, or that you’d benefit from extra guidance in navigating the online format—and that’s something we can help with.

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns and experiences. We are truly sorry to hear that this school year has been challenging for you and your family, particularly when it comes to billing and account access. We understand how frustrating and disheartening it must have been to navigate financial difficulties while also managing your children’s education.

We also appreciate your feedback regarding the experience that you have had with the online portal. This software is in development, and improvements are made possible by feedback such as yours. Your insights have been heard and will be reviewed with our leadership and technical teams. At this time, Enlightium Academy does not utilize any AI-driven automation for payments or financial systems.

More importantly, we want to personally apologize for the impression that our school prioritizes finances over our faith values. We aim to reflect Christ in both word and deed, especially when families are going through hardship. As a tuition-based school, we receive no financial support or income other than what we collect directly from tuition payments. It is necessary for us to collect balances owed promptly in order to be able to continue to offer the quality of education that we strive to provide.
