Worst company ever

Do not trust this company

Horrible company. Do not trust them. I’ve been trying to remove my ex from the accounts as he has never contributed financially, the company told me to have him sign forms to be removed. Which he did, I scanned and sent in the forms. They never removed him. I contacted them several times to ask why and finally got a response saying HE has to call in to remove himself also by phone. Which deadbeat would take the time out of their day to make that call? I gave them his number and told them to contact him. They never responded. I emailed again and again asking why he is still on the account and they refuse to even respond to my emails. Disgusting customer service. And based on the other reviews, I’m not alone here.

As per our internal procedures, verbal authorization from the subscriber to be removed is required in order to process a subscriber removal request. According to our records, we attempted to contact the secondary subscriber on three separate occasions but were unable to reach them. At this point, if we are unable to make contact, we recommend that the secondary subscriber reach out to us directly to provide their verbal authorization. We can also arrange an outbound call to the secondary subscriber to attempt contact again. We understand that this situation may be frustrating; however, these guidelines are in place to ensure the privacy and security of our customers. Thank you for your understanding.

Family plan RESP

I have a family RESP for my four children. This company has changed names several times since the purchase of the RESP Family Plan. Makes a person wonder why it used to be called USC., knowledge, first financial, and now Embark. I think I’m missing one name changed. I’m not sure.
I Never any trouble putting money in, but I have had trouble taking money out. My children have had trouble taking money out.
I requested documents which they sent, but wasn’t allowed to print them out.
I have repeatedly called several times for the same repeated issues with each child when withdrawing from their RESP fund, request requesting statements, and having to call repeated times!
I would not recommend this company. I would look elsewhere. We also had bank RESP’s as I did not want to put all my eggs in one basket as my father taught me.
The issues started with the first child in July 2016, second child in July 2019, third child in July 2020, fourth child in July 2023–2025 to present.
I have trouble getting statements. I had trouble taking money out. And have to call repeatedly on the same issues!
PLEASE BE CAREFUL! I TRUST THIS SAVES SOMEBODY THE HEADACHES THAT I HAVE HAD FOR 10 YEARS, TRYING TO GET MONEY OUT.
There are even further issues. This email that EMBARK replied to is not even my current email. I cannot update the email unless I have a cell phone. If you don’t have a cell phone, you can’t change it or sign up for an account online. I realize that most people probably have a cell phone, but with my low vision, I do not.
So I didn’t even get access to this email reply because it’s not my current email! It was past the three days I had to reply so I updated my review to be more specific.
So if you have a cell phone and you can do your own account that won’t be a problem. But they don’t have a way of doing it for those who don’t have a cellphone.

No sense trying to fix an issue that is already done. My last child is getting the last of her money out and I’m out of the program! By the way, all those times I tried to fix the issue It never got fixed. Because I have four children, I see common patterns. If someone just has one child or maybe two children they might think it a coincidence.
I HOPE PEOPLE WILL READ MY UPDATED REVIEW AND BE SPARED FROM THE DIFFICULTY I HAD REPEATEDLY 10 YEARS EVERY TIME THE KIDS TOOK TGEIR MONEY OUT EACH YEAR!
Did you notice how long it took Embark to reply to my review? August 1, 2025 and they replied December 24, 2025 interesting isn’t it?

After over a decade of service

After over a decade of service, I have had a very negative experience. Mandarin is not widely spoken, and despite assurances that someone would contact me, I have not received any updates. When I requested that my daughter’s last name be updated, it took them an entire year. I starred transfer my RESP to another bank on October 2025 but it has been two months and they have not yet completed the transfer. I have been in constant contact with them, but no one answers the phone. I finally spoke to them online on November 27th, and they informed me that the transfer would be completed on December 17th. However, it is now December 19th, and the transfer has not yet been completed. I am unable to trust them to manage my account and am uncertain of how long it will take to resolve this issue.

Bad experience

I have been trying to get into my account since November 13-2025 even before. First I couldn't because at my age I taught I didn't need a cell phone. So I had to buy a cell phone. Now because I had to change my cell number, I could not change my cell number with you guys. I get Emails from you all the time, why can't I do what I need threw Email?

Terrible/nonexistent customer service

I can never login in to your site. I've been a customer since 2010 and I swear this login shenanigans has been ongoing. I dont think I've ever seen a proper online statement. I never can get a hold of anyone. I fear there my money is going. Crazy customer service.

Extremely Inefficient and Frustrating Experience

I contacted this company on November 28 to set up pre-authorized payments and immediately provided all the required paperwork. They emailed me back asking for a void cheque, which I sent right away. After waiting three days for a response, they told me I needed to answer security questions—so I did. Then I waited another three days, only to be told that the void cheque didn’t match the paperwork. This back-and-forth kept happening, with each correction taking them days to address.

By December 9—nearly two weeks later—the automatic payments still weren’t set up. I ended up calling them out of sheer frustration. Only after I complained directly did they finally complete the setup.

The whole process was incredibly inefficient. Instead of telling me everything they needed upfront, they dragged it out over multiple emails, each taking days to respond. It caused unnecessary delays and a lot of frustration. Definitely not impressed with their customer service or communication.

The former Financial First was amazing - Embark is awful and I will be looking to switch my children's investments.
