This is a box ticking exercise for money to be made.
If you are not an electrician - Yet related discipline (Their words) They have no idea how to process you.
They encompass telecommunications under this card & leave you in the dark.
Ask you questions about electrical systems?? Even though you are not an electrician - Nor have any electrical skills.
Any "comms" qualifications you hold are not recognised because they are not electrical qualifications.
PIECE OF Crap system not valid for people not in the electrical game.

Disappointing service KFC do better.
Overall disappointing with express service let alone overall policy. Arrive 11am to hand in some papers then be expected to wait till 3pm to pickup card. 3:20pm and still nothing.
Legalised blackmail to work. I can accept need process but it's clearly not smooth enough and need major overhaul.
Card arrived 30min late and spelling mistake.. what a total joke.

Ecs card is legalised blackmail to constantly pay for a licence to work, a compulsory union. If a test was required before renewal, I'd accept charge would be necessary, but constantly paying for right to work is disgusting. Can't get job without it, having to pay for renewal, even if you haven't found job. Disgusting in my book. Unless a test is involved renewal should be unnecessary ,unless card lost. Even renewal fees are extortionate for unemployed. Who is gaining from this money?

6 WEEKS PROCESSING TIME
Applied for an ECS card over 2 weeks ago and haven't received my card yet, phoned up ECS customer service today to find out the processing time is 6 weeks, it's not even up to 6 weeks, IT TAKES 6 WEEKS! 6 weeks to process an ECS card application? Even a passaport or driving licence wouldn't take that long, 2-3 weeks at the most but usually you get it within 7 days. Now ECS card 6 WEEKS? WHAT A JOKE! I've lost 2 jobs opportunities so far because of they silly processing time. Or maybe that's a way of trying to force people to pay for the premium service of £216.00. It's unacceptable!
