In the last few months
In the last few months, between ghost buses and last minute cancellations notices on the app, I have opted to avoid taking the bus as much as possible. Today was the worse experience. Took a N2 from Heuston Station towards Clontarf. It was lashing rain and cold. The driver stopped in the middle of nowhere, I guess for a driver change. As no driver turned up, we were told to get off and that another bus was on the way. The next 2 buses were cancelled.the 3 rd one delayed. We were left stranded for 1 hour under the rain at a bus stop with no shelter. We were freezing, water had gotten through our shoes and socks. So wet and cold, I felt like I was going to pass out. One hour later the bus turned up. It was 4 pm when the bus I hopped on in Heuston station left. I finally arrived in Grace park on Griffith avenue at 6.15 pm freezing and distressed. If you can walk or cycle, you will spare yourself a lot of stress and get to your destination on time. I now do this as much as possible, and will do so even more. If you are on the Luas line, you are lucky, the only service which is of a capital city standard .Avoid the N2 bus,it is a disgrace
Never ever comes on time its so so so…
Never ever comes on time its so so so annoying the drivers are also so rude
I LOVE TRAVELING ON THE DUBLIN BUS
I LOVE TRAVELING ON THE DUBLIN BUS. NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS THE DUBLIN BUS ALWAYS STOPS FOR ME. THANK YOU DUBLIN BUS MANAGEMENT FOR CARING FOR ME.
dangerous
They can be very dangerous. I’ve seen loads of people going flying on the bus or falling because the bus pulls off too quick before anyone gets a chance to sit down or they brake too heavy coming up to a bus stop. The bus drivers lately a terrible.
Never use this company! Use it if you have to
This company is super bad! I remember once I threw some trash on the floor and the bus driver screamed at me! But I told him why does he not give out to the others since there is trash on the floor already!

The NTA TFI DUBLIN BUS especially them clowns 🤡 In harristown bus depot they must be sacked the people in coolock had enough
Stop 2721
Stop 2721. According to the timetable displayed at the stop, the C1 was due at 11:12, never showed up. The C3 was due at 11:14, also no sign of it. Unbelievable how this company operates with such negligence while the government turns a blind eye to such a poor service. I would give 0 stars if that were possible.

At bus stop 3917 in maynooth there has been lots of times where when the bus comes and is supposed to bring people back towards Dublin centre direction , the bus driver only puts “ bus out of service “ and drives back to Dublin centre direction regardless and doesn’t take on any customers, bare in mind on the app the bus is supposed to bring you on the schedule time

G1 cancelled 3 times in a row and its cold raining and windy. Appaling service. Thank for the cold ive just got. No updates on the app. Website also not working . Ghost bus .

The 12:10am E2 has failed to show up..
The 12:10am E2 has failed to show up... Yet again.
This is probably the worst bus to try and get. It rarely shows up and leaves people waiting an hour for the next bus with no warning. Its gotten to a point I can tell you if this bus will show up or not.
Routes 15
Routes 15, 43, and 42 are extremely unreliable. Buses often don’t arrive on time, and many times they are already full and just pass by without stopping. We are left standing there with kids in bad weather, and children end up late for school because of this. This happens regularly, not occasionally. People rely on these routes for work and school, and the service really needs serious improvement.
The L2 could possibly be the worst bus ever…
The L2 could possibly be the worst bus in the history of this country. At least a dozen times have I been waiting at the bus stop for this bus to come just for it to be cancelled and I wouldn't be complaining so much if this bus didn't come once every thirty minutes and with no other way for me to travel from kilcoole I have to simply wait 30 minutes for another one which will most likely be delayed by 20 minutes. Would sooner put my trust in North Korea then this bus being on time absolute joke.
73 bus route is a joke
It is an absolute joke because the 73 is replacing the 123 bus route because I honestly think that the 123 was on time more than the 73 is on time right now. Like Go Ahead Ireland are an absolute disaster. DISGRACEFUL.
The Stars are only for the driver
The Stars are only for the driver:
Great bus drivers — completely tone-deaf management
I was on the 39A this evening (early evening, Navan Road / Cabra direction, heading toward Manor Street) and I want to start by saying this clearly: the bus driver himself was absolutely sound — friendly, courteous, empathetic, and clearly aware of the passenger experience.
I overheard him being told over the radio that he was eight minutes ahead of schedule and was expected to wait. You could tell he was embarrassed and fed up — not because of passengers, but because of the rigid, top-down micromanagement that treats schedules as more important than human beings. To his credit, he didn’t take it out on passengers and reassured me I’d get where I was going. That deserves recognition.
And that’s the core problem with Dublin Bus:
the drivers are generally fine — management is not.
The people making decisions from an office clearly have very little understanding of what it’s actually like to be on these buses, either as a worker or as a paying customer. Passengers come last. The timetable comes first. Always.
I also need to raise a serious accessibility and sensory overload issue that Dublin Bus seems to completely ignore: the relentless, excessively loud, nonstop automated announcements.
I call her “Joan the Drone” — because the voice is penetrating, repetitive, and never-ending. This isn’t about Irish being spoken (absolutely no issue with Gaeilge). It’s about frequency, volume, and lack of consideration. Plus the fact, she does butcher the Irish langauge with a lot of her pronunciation with over stressed urús and seimhiús.
Every road. Every turn. Every few seconds.
There is no quiet. No pause. No relief.
For someone with OCD and ADHD, this is not a minor annoyance — it’s mentally exhausting. Even with noise-cancelling earbuds, the announcements cut through. Compare this with the Luas, where announcements are measured, calm, and minimal. It can be done properly — Dublin Bus simply chooses not to.
There was a time when taking public transport meant having a few quiet minutes before or after work. Now it’s an unavoidable sensory assault. It actively discourages people from using buses — which is ironic, given all the talk about climate change and reducing car use.
To be clear again:
This is not a criticism of drivers.
It’s a criticism of a management culture that is inflexible, out of touch, and indifferent to both passengers and staff.
Dublin Bus could do far better — and the fact that it hasn’t, after years of complaints, says a lot.
Totally unreliable
Totally unreliable, you'll be left in the rain waiting for a bus that doesnt show up, and the WiFi doesn't work, a disgrace all round
37 bus a disgrace
The 37 route is the most unreliable service i have ever seen. It never turns up and when it does eventually arrive it doesn’t go to its destination. It is a complete disaster, someone needs to take accountability
Cataclismic disaster
This is the most catastrophic public transport service in the world and it's getting worse. As of now, there is about dozen or so working people waiting in the cold on a 40D bus, on stop 4321 in the Ballycoolin, and the bus is disgustingly late. People in charge of this company are absolutely incompetent and should be held responsible for wasting public resources. Shame and disgrace on all the management of this company and everyone involved in managing Dublin traffic.
No bus routes
I have recently discovered that there is no direct bus route from swords to blanchardstown and visa versa. My partner has recently moved here and we are finding it difficult to navigate seeing each other without a direct link. it's absurd that it should take 2 and a half hours to get there when it's only a 15 min drive in reality.
