Over-promised & Under-delivered...and Late.
I reached out to Drift Patches via Instagram to see if they could turn my somewhat complicated business logo into an embroidered hook-and-loop patch. They said they could and sent an amazing-looking mockup. Based on that mockup and their projected production and delivery time (5–7 days production plus 3–5 days shipping), I decided they were worth the higher cost compared to similar companies—over $4 per patch for a triple-digit order.
That was in July.
The first test patch was terrible. The colors were wrong, shapes & scale were distorted, and text had typos. It looked nothing like the digital mockup they had provided. We went back and forth through several more samples trying to get the embroidered patch to at least resemble the mockup, but Drift eventually told me they were incapable of producing an embroidered patch like it. I then determined that the mockup they had used to sell me on the product was AI-generated, rather than a representation of an actual patch they could produce.
Their representative then suggested a sublimated patch, saying they could get much closer to the original mockup. The first sample had major color issues. They took my feedback, produced another version—which still wasn't great—and then sent the order, without offering to continue making the patch closer to what I'd asked for.
The patches finally arrived today, in mid-September. The sublimated patches aren't horrible, but some have color smudges, and the edge stitching on others extends as much as half an inch into the patch.
What was originally presented as roughly a two-week turnaround became a seven-week process marked by poor communication (and worse embroidery). On multiple occasions, I was told I'd receive information "tomorrow," only to hear nothing for a week until I followed up. After all that, the final product was still disappointing. I will not be able to sell these patches, the quality is too poor.
One final concern: Drift presents itself as a Georgia-based print shop, but my patches were shipped from Dubai.
I would not recommend this company if you value high quality, good communication, or accuracy between what you're shown and what you actually receive.
UPDATE: Raising this review to 3 stars. The company worked with me to provide a partial refund for the 17 worst patches. I still can't use the remainder of the order, but the company at least tried to assist to a degree.
