While any breed can technically be trained as a service dog, the reality of preparing an assistant animal—especially a high-energy breed like a Red Heeler—demands a significant investment of time and effort. I just spike with Shelby and she said my trainer did not want to do train. Someone at dog academy is lying at trainer just called and indicated she spoke with a man last week who would work to accommodate. Some one a dog academy is lying. Do not use dog academy. No they lie.

Astonishing level of customer support. I had an upcoming flight and asked alexis to expedite our video review, which she did twice in one day. Was so friendly and understanding and helped us get our pup on our flight with us the next day. The reviewer even agreed to stay a little late to review our videos. I had an amazing experience with DogAcademy! I spoke with Jeremy, and he was absolutely outstanding. He was kind, patient, and took the time to answer all of my questions without making me feel rushed. It’s rare to come across someone who genuinely cares about helping people, and Jeremy definitely goes above and beyond.
His customer service was top-notch, and he made the whole process smooth and stress-free. Honestly, he deserves a raise for how well he represents the company! If all staff are like him, you’re in great hands.

Valuable Course
This course was incredibly valuable; I learned SO MUCH. I appreciated the self-paced design. I'm elderly living alone with a tendency for panic attacks. I found I could not get through a lesson and exam in one sitting. Given that, I have a suggestion for those like myself. Maybe there was a link (and I missed it?) to continue with the course after exiting and returning later. I was scrolling through prior lessons to finally reach the 'current'. Thank you so very much! My dog and I have progressed well to the instructions you've provided.

Be very careful
Be very careful, it’s a hard sell and very misguided. There are no classes with other dogs/puppies and I was told that trainers would arrange places to interact with other dogs and their owners. That is not the case and you get an individual trainer for nine sessions that you really don’t need because puppies need to be socialized. I told them at the time that I was talking to them about signing up that I had no interest in online videos I can get that on YouTube for free, but the biggest disappointment is once I realized that I had signed onto a very expensive plan that I did not need and asked for a refund for some of it. They refused and told me I was outside of the refund time. The trainer I have is not the problem. . It is the program .This is a very disappointing experience overall.

Our training approach is designed to provide personalized, one-on-one guidance tailored to each dog and owner, while also offering recommendations for safe and appropriate socialization opportunities outside of sessions.
We also apologize for any frustration regarding the program structure and included resources. While many clients find value in the combination of in-person training and supplemental materials, we understand that preferences can vary.
Regarding your concern about the refund, we do our best to be transparent about our policies at the time of enrollment, and we’re sorry for any disappointment this has caused.
We’re glad to hear that you had a positive experience with your trainer, and we appreciate you recognizing their efforts. Your feedback is important to us, and we will use it to continue improving how we communicate and serve our clients.
