How can any sort of review be given when everything is done remotely via a website without any human connection.
The system is faultless and can warrant nothing other than 5 stars.

I have used Direct Car Excess for a number of years and have found them very easy to deal with. The website is intuitive and the pricing is very competitive, particularly against buying excess cover direct with the car rental company. As yet I haven't needed to claim but, being backed by the insurance giant AIG, gives me comfort that I would be paid out if ever needed.

I wanted to renew my policy but was concerned that I needed a policy which covered the whole period I planned to hire a car for, because I was hiring just before the current policy had finished. I was able to get the answers to my question very quickly, so I renewed the policy over the phone for another year. I was happy that the policy was cheaper than last year.

Great value excess insurance for car hire. Have been taking out an annual policy for several years. Much better value than using policies from car hire companies for each hire.

Very poor customer service
I purchased their product online and paid by creditcard. However, despite several emails, they still have failed to send me my confirmation documents blaming it on my email not having been "verified". However, peculiarly they can still send me emails to say they are attending to it and also an invite to submit a review! I have asked them to cancel my purchase and refund my credit card but have so far not heard back

Quick and easy online service. Much cheaper than paying for excess protect at the car rental desk.

Good prices. We had to claim a few years ago and the payment was prompt and without any quibble.

Easy to buy the policy. Claims procedure was OK but could have been more responsive - we had to call and ask the status and suddenly the claim was dealt with - would have been good if we didn't have to prod!

I found the process easy to do. You were one of a very few that did cars up to 20 years. As the customer has no way of ensuring the age of a rental especially if it is pre booked for airport pick up I think this is important.
