Dyes should be shipped responsibly
This happened awhile ago but I just tripped over this site today so here is my story.
Dharma mailed some very heavy items in the same box as some very fragile jars of dye, predictably resuling in the dye being smashed and the box leaking dye everywhere on its journey to me. Why not send in two boxes, or at least protect the dye from breakage by putting it in a smaller box or layer of bubble wrap, or at least wrap it in bags so it's less messy when it gets crushed? Their argument is that they cut corners on shipping to save customers money. As if they did me a FAVOR by spilling dye all over multiple people's clothing, vehicles, workplaces etc.
I never asked for this "favor". Personally if I were offered a choice to have a greatly lowered chance of dye spilling everywhere, for an extra ten bucks S&H, I'd choose the upgraded packaging. And what about the courier company drivers and sorters who no doubt had a huge fuss to clean up the leakage too, without the benefit I supposedly enjoyed of saving a few bucks? They have a right to work with non-leaky parcels.
The worst part was not the spill but the lack of remorse. If they had said "Oh that should never have happened and sounds unpleasant! We are sorry!" it would be one thing, even if it was insincere! But they did not apologize or acknowledge that they had erred. They seemed to be saying they accept this happening once in awhile, and have no interest in changing, since it would cost a bit more to do things right.
Their product is nice enough but their non-reaction to hearing about the leaky package was extremely unprofessional, so I would never trust them again in the future and warn people against them whenever I can.
Do not order dye from Dharma unless you're willing to have it end up coating some poor courier employees.
