My child absolutely loved her first drumming lesson with Ollie!

Because she’s homeschooled, she isn’t always used to meeting new adults, so I wasn’t sure how she’d feel walking in. But as soon as we left she said, “I love that guy!” which made me smile.

Then this morning, before her next session, she woke up and asked, “Can I go back to Ollie today? Can he be my forever teacher?” — which says everything really.

We’re so grateful to everyone at DeRosa Music for creating such a welcoming environment, and we can’t wait to continue our musical journey with you.

My daughter loves her guitar lessons at the Horsham branch: she looks forward to going every Saturday.

I ordered an item from Derosa Music (Bishops Stortford) on 4th January with an estimated delivery window of Thursday 8th January to Monday 12th January. As of 15th January, I still haven’t received my order.

After repeatedly chasing, I was told they did not actually have the item in stock and that it was “coming from Yamaha”. If the item is not in stock, it should not be sold with a delivery estimate as if it’s ready to ship.

I called the store many times and spoke to Colin, who promised a tracking number, but to this day no tracking information has been provided. Communication has been poor and only happens after constant follow-ups.

What’s most disappointing is that the store does not seem to accept responsibility for the delay, despite taking payment and missing the stated delivery window.

Due to the lack of delivery and the fact that no tracking has been provided at all, I have now raised a dispute with my bank for a purchase that has not arrived.

Very frustrating experience. I would not recommend Derosa Music based on this.

Don’t waste your time and money. My kids took piano and guitar lessons at De Rosa - Hertford. The ‘tutors’ were students - no structure, no experience, some of them were learning themselves. My kids hardly progressed while they were there. Moved them straight away onto proper music teachers. Happy to be out of this clueless place. Avoid.

Very engaging and professional, great with the kids and make sure the lessons are fun and progress well. Polite and friendly staff. My son loves his lessons despite being quite shy, he has developed so fast and so well and participated in two student shows they put on.

Extremely unprofessional. The men and boy at the reception are very rude and unwelcoming, will not be coming back.

Simply Outstanding

I’m an old ex’ pro’ bass player. I usually buy my guitars, amps and bits from the big famous online warehouse outlets or from one or two boutique shops in Italy in Germany who stock a lot of Fender Custom shop. I’ve always avoided local stores who don’t have Gibson & Fender licences.

Not anymore!

DeRosa are both a school and an excellent music shop. They specialise in top of the range Yamaha digital pianos, Yamaha Brass & Woodwind, Tanglewood and Faith acoustics and starter electric guitars.

I’ve frequented 50 or 60 music shops throughout the U.K. and Europe over the past 50 years, purchasing basses or just tyre-kicking; but I have NEVER EXPERIENCED SUCH EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE as I recently received at DeRosa.

Returning to the piano after quitting my lessons at 11 years old, DeRosa spent a lot of time with me, helping me choose the best Clavinova for me.

No pressure. Kind helpful advice. Excellent explanations of the differences and nuances around the features and specs across their wide choice of stock; and price matching as promised.

This was followed up by outstanding post sales and delivery services.

But here’s the thing - I don’t think I have ever had such a strong feeling of TRUST in a music shop before.

These are the extremely nice, kind and gentle people who are there to help and really know their stuff.

So next time you’re talking to some cool dude at Gear4Music, PMT, Andertons or Thomann in Germany who sounds like he’s 12 - try your local store instead. You may find a shop as OUTSTANDING as DEROSA.

It’s sort of like walking out of Prezzo and crossing the street to a restaurant that’s been owned by the same Italian family for three generations, where the food tastes like you are actually sitting in Abbruzzo, or Sicily or Tuscany, on a warm autumn evening, with all the time in the world.

Great service, timely delivery

Just bought my 2nd digital piano from Derosa (Yamaha P515). They were extremely helpful, letting me try it out in their Stortford shop for some time to be sure it was suitable and offering useful technical advice. They gave a very reasonable part ex on an already competitive price. Communication by email and phone was excellent. Really enjoying playing this piano and finding new inspiration from it. I ordered an electric piano after discussing a couple I had my eye on. All of my contact with Derosa was via telephone as I am not local. The staff were knowledgeable and very helpful. They were open about the delay in stock delivery right from the start and they kept me informed about where in the process it was. I had a really long wait but I can't fault their customer service one bit!

Excellent service from the team at Derosa music. We ordered our Yamaha piano online and was promptly informed of possible delays with imports from factory in Japan. Derosa kept us in the loop and once in the UK and on site, dispatched piano without further delay. Would highly recommend.
