I’ve been using it for 4 weeks, and it seems to be working on my leg. Was a bit disappointed that it has to be plugged in during use. Otherwise, it's a good product.
It's a pricey device that didn’t seem to make much difference with hair removal for me. The cost is pretty high, but the device itself is well made and nice.

My experience with Dermrays has been really strange, unfortunately.
TLDR:
Pros: Device is easy to use and relatively comfortable. Responsive customer service. Agreed to let me return the device (after a lot of back and forth).
Cons: everything else. Absolutely minimal results on a very light skin tone IV consistently using the V6S at the highest setting for close to 3 months, at a frequency above their base recommendation. I used the device on my face and underarms. I would have given 3 stars if not for their pushy customer service, and for them not being able to accurately determine black/African skin tones.
Detailed review:
So to start, I initially had a great experience with their customer service replying promptly when I asked them which device to go for. I was going to get the more powerful V8S but decided to ask for their opinion. I sent in pictures and they recommended the V6S, which I thought was strange because the V8S is meant to be safe up to skin tone V but I felt that they were the experts and I should go with their opinion.
I followed a schedule of 3 times a week for the first 6 weeks, and then I have been doing 1-2 seasons per week for the rest of the period. I used the highest setting from the beginning and treated my face and underarms. I have been using the device for close to 3 months now. It's quite easy to use, sessions are super quick and convenient and it hurts a lot less than professional treatment.
I know that seeing result with laser takes time, especially if you are a more tanned or darker skin tone and have black hair. However, the results have been quite disappointing and I had barely noticed a difference in growth in the time I've been using it. I have previously had laser treatment at a clinic (unfortunately I had to stop those treatments prematurely and so the hair started growing again) and I can say that this device does not compare at all to professional treatment. I had more results after 2 professional laser sessions than I have had in 3 months with the V6S.
I was aware that my 90 day return window was closing so I reached out to customer service with my intent to return the device. They were quite pushy and tried to recommend that I try the device for longer, or try a different treatment schedule. Because I had already used the device more frequently than their baseline recommendations, I didn't think it would be worth it. I do appreciate them trying to help and even offering to extend the return window, but I would have preferred that they still included returning the device as an option in their first email, rather than me having to push back on their alternatives a few times.
They then also suggested that I try the V8S device - and this is where everything started to go downhill. They said that maybe I could try the V8S because it is safe for skin tones I to V and more powerful. I then explained to them that I had previously asked their customer support which device I should try and was recommended the V6S due to the tone of my skin. I was then extra confused because I was being told different things by different customer service agents.
I'm not a skin tone VI, and I was told by the customer service agent who I was requesting a refund from that the V8S was fine for up to skin tone V. Bear in mind that I am a very light skin tone IV - especially in the winter, which is when I initially enquired and sent pictures. I actually look quite pale in some of the photos. I even sent them photos in different lighting settings so that they could get a true reflection of my skin tone but in none of them did I look similar to skin tone VI - which I would think is the only reason the first customer service agent should be actively recommending the V6S.
When I pointed this out to the customer service agent dealing with my return, they started to backtrack saying that yes my skin tone is actually a DEEPER skin tone V, which it is not accurate at all.
I think it is disappointing that they market some of their devices specifically to darker skin tones but they cannot actually accurately gauge skin tones and just assume that all black/African people fall into skin tone V and VI.
This is the main reason I ended up leaving a review at 2 stars and not 3 stars.
To be completely fair to their customer service team, they are very responsive and after me pushing back a few times on not wanting to try a different treatment plan or device, they finally agreed to let me return the device. I am just about to start the process so hopefully it goes smoothly.

DermRays seems like a scam company. Our experience with Dermray has been nothing short of a nightmare. We bought their machine three months ago, and the power button got stuck, making the device completely useless. The product looks brand new—no scratches, no signs of misuse—just a defective button.
When I reached out to their so-called customer service, I discovered they don’t even provide a phone number. Everything had to be done through email, which is a huge red flag. I sent them a video showing the issue, only to be met with a dismissive response. Despite their supposed two-year warranty, they refused to replace the product, hiding behind vague excuses about “misuse or damage.” This is absurd, considering the machine is in perfect condition except for their faulty button.
Dermray’s refusal to honor their warranty, combined with the complete lack of direct communication, shows they have zero accountability or respect for their customers. I wouldn’t recommend Dermray to anyone—save your money and avoid this company at all costs!

This laser hair remover works great! It’s a bit uncomfortable during use, but I was expecting some mild pain. The results have been pretty nice, it's gradually getting better over time.
Shipping was super quick, but my device stopped working properly after five uses. Customer service was really helpful and got me a replacement, but it did take a while. I’m still using it and hoping it works as promised.

I’ve noticed little to no difference on my face, but pretty good results on my legs and bikini line. I’ve been using this this twice a week for the past 8 weeks on my face, bikini line, and legs. With fair skin and dark hair, I expected better results. I bought it mainly to address facial hair, so I’m disappointed it didn’t work as hoped. I just wish I could return it.

This is my first time using an at-home laser hair removal device, and actually, my first experience with any kind of laser hair treatment! So, I don’t have anything to compare it to. I might be less experienced than some other reviewers. Make sure to check the hair color/skin tone chart before ordering, as this product isn’t suitable for everyone.
The laser itself has a sleek, modern design and is comfortable to hold. I didn’t experience any hand stiffness or discomfort during use. I’d recommend reading the entire manual before starting. You’ll need to use the device for several months to see significant results—it’s not a one-time fix. If you expect to be hair-free after one session, you’ll be disappointed.
There are 6 intensity settings. I started with the second setting for the first few weeks. The sensation isn’t painful, but it’s not entirely comfortable either. I’d describe it as mild discomfort, and if you have sensitive skin, it could be a bit more painful.
I’ve been using it on my legs for nearly a month and am starting to see results. The hair is still there, but it’s growing slower and less coarse. I’m hoping that with continued use over several months, the hair will eventually stop growing—or at least the time between shaves will increase. I’m very optimistic based on the results I’ve seen so far!
I really thought I was going to like this device, but after the first use, it wouldn’t turn on and kept cutting off. (Hopefully someone else will have better luck.) On the positive side, it’s easy to use, pain-free, and the cooling effect felt nice on my skin. I contacted customer service and received a new device quickly. So far, it's working fine, and I’m grateful for how quickly they handled the issue.
I was pretty amazed at how easy the Dermray V8S is to use. It is also alot faster to do your session than alot of other hair removal devices. Highly recommend!

The Dermray Laser hair removal is a game changer. lt works. I can already see a reduction in my hair growth. I barely get any hair under my armpits now. Being consistent is the key to getting good results. I'm African American and this is the first at home laser hair removal that has worked for my skin. It does not burn your skin. It has a cooling feature that makes it very comfortable to use. You don't need to wear any goggles. ( Just don't look directly into the light.) Ingrown hairs and hyperpigmentation starts to fade once you start seeing hair reduction. Overall, lm satisfied with my purchase.
Customer service was fine, but it took longer than expected to get a response. I was asking for advice on which product would suit me best, and quicker help would’ve made the process easier.

I just got the dermray laser and it was shipped promptly, no issues. I have been following different Facebook group influencers, who have not tested this yet so they say…I have had the Nira and Nira pro for a long time (2-3) years. I love my Nira but this blows away the ease and seemingly great quality with the device corded and the specs. I really am finding this device awesome overall. I would recommend the service and quality of the device as well as the customer service experience as they have no issue return 90 days.
