Customer service is awful
I'm a UK citizen, I've always been a UK citizen.
Someone at Degiro has mistakenly decided that I'm a US citizen.
I've emailed a number of times to client and kyc. No replies. I tried to call, number couldn't be connected.
Customer service is non existent.

BEWARE I invested with Degiro and they…
BEWARE I invested with Degiro and they have lost my investment in a recent merger / accquistion with the new stock being 'un-tradeable on their platform'. They won't re-imburse me or manually sell my position. They still have the funds, I am now taking legal action.

Avoid in UK, the AutoFX fees are a blatant rip off
I've been with Degiro for over 5 years and I opened an account with Charles Schwab UK for the following reasons:
a) They lost my deposit. How can you lose a deposit? How is this even technically possible? It took me SEVEN months and OVER 100 emails to be reimbursed for this deposit. What a waste of my time.
b) Degiro UK customers can't have a subaccount in USD which means their AutoFX fees kill you. Example: Buying just 150 META shares costs over 200 USD with Degiro UK - the same purchase is SEVEN USD with Charles Schwab. What an unbelievable rip off. So in total a round turn of 150 META shares costs you at Degiro UK over 400 USD and 14 (yes, FOURTEEN) USD with Charles Schwab.
c) Customer service was always very responsive but I was also classified as a VIP customer with over 0.5m GBP in the account
Execution (buying/selling) was always flawless. But you don't have access to the extended trading hours, which means you can't buy/sell besides the main trading hours. Which you can with Charles Schwab. This is great to make money during earnings season.
