If you have purchased Defender signal blocking pouches then check them regularly as they stop working after a few months.
I have now had 4 of these and every one has failed. Defender replaced the first 2 under warranty but declined my offer to send the pouches back for testing.
Clearly this is a known issue as they have just issued me with the following statement:-
"We have received a number of signal blockers back and have been reviewing them. It would not be practical to recall every signal blocker which has failed back for testing, as the samples we have assessed provide us with a representative and satisfactory percentage for evaluation. Our focus now is on identifying upgrades and solutions to help prevent this issue from arising in the future."
Cheap as it is, the current product is not fit for purpose in my view and leaves your vehicle/s at risk.

Good product, fair price and quick delivery. Big enough for large key/keys.

Purchased a Defender Pro-TEC Key Safe.
It's a much better built product than the one it replaced (one of those with four spinning dials that apparently are very easily accessible...)
Delivery was speedy and the product was easy to install with the self-tapping bolts (they just screw straight into the brick, when you drill a 5mm diameter hole!)
The only slight downside compared to the cheap models is you can't use a number twice. However there are numbers 0 to 9 and an A and B. So it's pretty flexible with lots of combinations possible.

Good value for money, assuming they do the job. My only small criticism is that on one of the pair that I bought, the outside warning label was misaligned with the body of the device so that it looks a little crooked from the outside.

Quick delivery. Good quality pouches not tested yet but very handy for the car keys.

After ordering a while back my first key safe and highly satisfied have ordered another which was promptly delivered, service from Defender security Products is excellent.

Defender Faraday pouch
About twelve months ago I purchased a twin pack of the Faraday pouches from defender after reading good reviews about them only for mine to stop protecting the key a couple of weeks after the twelve month warranty had finished, after contacting defender I was simply told that they could do nothing about it end of , very poor customer service and I do understand that I was a couple of weeks over the twelve months warranty but just to be told there's nothing they can do is very disappointing, I shall now be looking elsewhere for a replacement. Anyone contemplating buying one of these should consider the longevity of the product and the security it provides a few months down the line??

Bought a fake TV device. Amazing product - looks just like a TV is on from outside. If anything mimics someone being home, it’s this. Plug in not battery like other cheaper versions, so plugged it into a timer.

I bought a twin pouch pack, and both no longer block the key signal. I can walk up to my Lexus with the keys secured in the pouch as per the manufacturer's instructions, and i can open my doors and start the car.

I wrote a review on their website which they have sanctioned, even though it was a calm, factual and professional comment. They clearly have an integrity issue, and you can't trust their reviews as a result.

They did send me an email which read:

"As with any product of this nature, failures can occur due to a range of reasons—these include the protective mesh being compromised from heavy creasing (e.g., from being placed in pockets or folded), general wear and tear, loose stitching, debris affecting the Velcro seal, excessive water exposure (like heavy rain or accidental washing), or even small perforations in the lining that aren’t visible to the naked eye. These factors can all impact the pouch’s ability to fully block key signals, even if the exterior appears to be in excellent condition."

My pouches are in very good condition, and have not left the house, not been washed or abused in any way. Clearly keys by their very nature are lumpy and have some sharp edges, so I can't say for certain that there isn't some form of wear and tear on the inside of the pouch. However, these pouches are supposed to be designed for placing keys (and all their shapely attributes) into on a daily or more frequent basis, so they are clearly not robust enough to last multiple key placements. Odd given their purpose, so the only conclusion is that these products are very flimsy on the inside and not of sufficient quality to be robust.

Funnily enough, they are cheap, and perhaps too cheap. I would be prepared to pay more for a better quality and more robust product that lasted more than a few months. After all, what's the cost of a good quality pouch when compared to the value of your car?

So, beware folks, this product may work at first, but will quickly and over an undefined short period, degrade and no longer provide full protection for your vehicle. Oh, and check out the latest AutoExpress article that places them in 6th place in terms of quality and fit for purpose. Defender are disparaging about this article in AutoExpress because the magazine put the pouches through a washing machine and other methods to check how robust the products are. Defender have stated this is not a fair test, but that is surely a deflection tactic. Bear in mind that the Defender product fails within an indeterminate period of months without being put through the AutoExpress process. But the competitor products listed in the AutoExpress review went through the same wear and tear test, and yet they still worked. This is a fundamental point that Defender have failed to acknowledge, which is telling. I prefer the size of the Defender pouch, but they need to improve the wear and tear and robustness attributes, otherwise we will face the risk of our cars being stolen because the signal wasn't blocked.

Incidentally, the product that won the AutoExpress wear and tear test is only a pound more for a pack of two. That's nothing for a product that will last.
