Ordered a sofa via Debenhams, not fit for purpose and couldn't sit on it comfortably for longer than a few minutes. Decided to return it and had a battle on my hands. They wanted it taken apart fully and put back in boxes which I couldn't do. They said it was a preference rather than a defect and 'not to my comfort' then charged me £65 to collect it. It took an age to get my money back (less the £65) and they were rude and demeaning, constantly referring to this being a 'budget item' which is demeaning and suggests if you can't afford something more expensive then you just accept what you get. The description was soft, plush, high comfort etc which was all rubbish. Do not use this seller, how Debenhams are endorsing them is beyond me.

I ordered beach towels on 1st May 2026 and I still haven't received them.
I was giving it a month in view of current global issues but now I am giving up!

I ordered a simple (king size) duvet set and it turned up with the size label removed and was a double so how they knew it was a a king they sent was amazing 🤔

Ive tried customer service but im just getting the run around even though I sent pictures and good detail of my complaint.

Please dont make the same mistake I did...

Returned some trainers. No acknowledgement they’d received them. It has taken over a month to get the refund. Apart from one occasion, where a ‘real’ person responded, I had to go through Debenhams’ AI assistant, which was repetitive & ineffectual. I had to chase at every point, they were not proactive. Wish I’d read all these reviews before purchasing! I will never use this company again. I also provide feedback directly to Debenhams, also no response.

Awful customer care
No returns invoice enclosed and 10 emails /4 text /3 FB messages and 4 instagram messages still not getting anywhere
No left with 3 evening dresses that are not suitable and no way of returning or refund

Purchased a Pro Breeze which I thought was Debenhams. Arrived it’s rubbish trying to return now told my order not found 😡😡 they tell me a returns label was in the box No it’s not 😡😡. Paid £200 plus £10 for warranty. Unable to get any answers ..

Thought I was ordering from Debenhams. Absolutely awful. 6 months waiting for a refund of €230 and only now notified it is being processed. Avoid DBZ like the plague. How have they remained in business. Surely the consumer rights people can do something?!

I thought I was purchasing a solar light from Debenhams. The advert did not make it clear that the light was a 'concession' item purchased from DBZ marketplace. The solar light was clearly broken when packed-the item was too large for the box and the lantern was snapped off to fit the box. I've spent days repeating the problem by the only means available, Messenger, and I'm taken in a full circle ending every time being told to wait for customer service to contact me. They don't. I am hoping, as I paid using PayPal, that they are able to obtain a refund for me now. Debenhams used to be a good company to purchase from. I would avoid them at all cost now.

The service has been appalling. Purchased an item 6th May and simply wanting to organise a return, its near on impossible still not resolved. No one responds to emails and even paying for a protected service means nothing. I am pushing this further and all I would say is stay clear!

Avoid at all costs. I purchased a chandelier through Debenhams and didn’t even take it out of the box as could see it was awful quality, hence I tried to return it. 4 times DBZ ignored me, hence I opened a case with PayPal. DBZ chose to ignore everything I asked them and would not supply me with a returns label so I had to pay for a tracked return via Royal Mail and thank god I did. They argued that they hadn’t received the item back and luckily I had proof which I had to forward about 10 times. Debenhams got involved and asked why I hadn’t asked them for a return label, but in the box it stated if you wanted to return you had to email them (DBZ) directly!! I got my money back after so much hassle but I’m out of pocket for the returns postage money and why should I be as this cost £10.10

AWFUL COMPANY

I returned a dress on 2nd May 2026, I'm still waiting for a refund. 16 days later. I bought from them previously, but didn't need to return item, my previous experience was great, but I'm definitely not happy this time

Still waiting for garden furniture to arrive, the delivery date was May 1st , no tracking number, they said they've tried to deliver it on numerous times, which is a lie, I will never order from debenhams.com ever again, I've put a claim in with PayPal for a full refund.

This company has the worst and most ridiculous customer service ever.
They sold a cheap £5 rubbish bulb and even sent the wrong item. I opened a dispute, and they told me I have to pay for the return postage myself, and then they would only give me a half refund.

The mistake was theirs, yet they expect the customer to pay for it.
Honestly, don’t buy anything connected to Debenhams Online or this company. They have some of the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced.

If I could I would have rated with minus😡. This company are thieves! I oder few items and luckily I was smart enough to pay with Klarna. After getting the items, I did retuned few of them and I kept on single pair of trousers which costed £72. when I checked on Klarna, these thieves charged me £91.48.😡😡😡😡😡

I really wish I had done my research prior to purchase, but you know, Debenham's right? Except it isn't as the rights were purchased long ago and Debeneham's were liquidated. Buying from this shambolic outfit is an exercise in futility and frustration. Over a month on and they have still not delivered part of my order, and are now arguing that they have, with proof! Except that they have failed to understand their own delivery manifest which clearly shows one item outstanding. Luckily I paid via Paypal and I expect it to get resolved that way as I have no faith in any internal process they might pretend to have. Never again.

They claim to have sent a refund of £79.98 and havent and now Wallis refuse to do anything as its over 30 days - but payments are still being taken via paypal and no refund is showing!

I think everyone who has experienced this needs to complain to the financial ombudsmen/trading standard.
