If you’re from the UK, DO NOT order from them. You’d be creating a NIGHTMARE situation that will take months from your life, back and forth trying to get a refund for an item you cannot send back. It’s an absolute joke. You’ve been warned

Danner Recrafting removed so much material from the welts of my boots they claimed they were no longer recraftable.

Be warned that this process will make your boots useless after 3 or 4 recrafting cycles. Aside from the damage from recrafting my boot were in very good condition.

Danner's email to me.
"Unfortunately, after an evaluation made by our recrafting team, they will be unable to service the boots sent in because of no welt (both boots) which would not hold up to a restitching. I am very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause for you and would be glad to provide a 25% discount code that can be used on a replacement/future purchase of a non-sale item on danner.com."

Great way to sell more boots.

Bought a pair of walking boots from Danner and have not received them. Just excuse after excuse. I have asked to cancel the order and refund me.
Terrible experience.
Do yourself a favour and save yourself wasted time.

Buyer Beware. In Oct 2025 I ordered 2 pairs of Sierra boots from Danner at over $400 per pair and they sent both pairs from batches made in 2021. One pair had several dents in the left toe box and the other pair did not fit the sole correctly. Danner Support claimed there is no issue with the boot being 4 years old prior to buying but it’s a leather boot with signs of degradation.

They slow-walk your order if you don't pay the upcharge. Both shoes took a week before even shipping and arrived just inside two weeks in the end. That's an eternity in 2025. Not sure whether intentional or from a poorly run company, but I am sure it's a pretty poor customer service move

The last two orders from Danner shoes took over two weeks to arrive. They claim they are having trouble with a new warehouse and are working 24 hours to fix the problem. This was a month ago. Bad way to do business

I ordered two pairs of boots for approximately $550 CAD. I am fine paying more for things when hopefully the quality is high, and they happen to be headquartered nearby in the Pacific Northwest. However, what I was not prepared for, was after already paying $70 for shipping, I was then slapped with over $250 in duties to bring them to Canada. If you use the Canadian governemnt estimated duties, this does not match. Then when I asked all companies involved, they all blamed the other. and no one could provide an actual invoice from the government of Canada. Worst of all was Danner's customer service who took no responsibility (despite them arranging the shipping) and refused to ger me an answer, get any proof or take any responsibility. This is not the service I expect when I pay top dollar for a product. I could not recommend this company less.

Purchase a pair of Men’s Boots Vertigo 917 in Chestnut. The boots arrived in a timely manner and the size fit perfectly. The problem is these boots make a squeaking noise when I walk and it’s very loud and noticeable by people around me. It’s embarrassing as well to say the least. Order #: 6718266815

Junk. Rocky Boots are the same quality but half the price. And good luck talking to any of the hipsters that work there, they act like Oregon is the only state in the country. Apparently their boots are only suitable for Oregon, heaven forbid anyone else inquires about their product

I bought two pairs of Danner Trail 2650 Campo shoes in November 2023 and January 2024, one pair Goretex, the other not Goretex. I have hardly worn either pair. Both Goretex shoes have split at the toe and leak. The rand on the other shoes has delaminated. I contacted Danner and was told that I should have bought a more robust boot. I have only walked on pavements in both pairs. These shoes are of seriously inferior quality and over-priced. Look elsewhere. I wouldn't touch this brand with a barge-pole again.

Horrible customer support. Bought a pair of Danner mountain light and most of the buckles started rusting after 1 1/2 year. They say it shouldn’t happen but apart that it’s not a defect. For a 400 euro shoe I would expect way better

We did not receive the boots we ordered even after paying $30 for expedited shipping! They "forgot" to put the shoes in the box and sent the box. At this point, we will not receive the boots before we leave and stated at 1pm (EST) that they would not be able to ship out that same day!

I bought a pair of Elk Hunters and a pair of Grouse. With both pairs, there was a lot of excess material in the tongues. No matter how I arranged the tongues or how I tied the boots, the bunched-up material always caused pain in my upper ankle areas. Calls to Danner customer service were not helpful/effective. Finally threw both pair into the trash and bought a competitor's products that are working well. I do NOT recommend Danner.

Difficult review for me in that I've utilized Danner boots for the bulk of my 80 year life and had great results. I purchased a pair of Bull Run Chelsea Wedge slip on boots in Nov. of 23 (225 bucks). Other than normal break-in concern they seemed O.K. until a week or so later. I began experiencing discomfort on the tops of my toes that, over time, became unbearable. Shoved my hand inside the boot to investigate and found ridges of hard leather protruding from the top of the boot. Yeah, I should have done that at the store at time of purchase. Anyway, sent Danner photos, and they declined the warranty request because I installed hard rubber anti-pronation taps on the heels which has absolutely nothing to do with what's going on in the toe. After sixty years, done with Danner.

I got their higher end. Military police boot with the heel in it. I mean technically there's no heel but It doesn't look flat it's the god damn fast Best boot or shoe ever holy shxt two hundred sixty dollars I bought 2 pairs and I wear them all the time. I don't care how they look I bought black They're fuxxxng awesome they feel like nike's but way Stronger add bigger

This review is on the Danner Striker 45 GTX boots. I bought not one pair but two pair (fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me). Previously, I owned and wore a pair of hiking boots that I loved and are still in use. Then I noticed this model which seemed more tactical and comfortable. Well I bought my first pair used and the left sole immediately delaminated and crumbled into plastic particles. Then I bought another pair after asking the seller if there was anything wrong with the soles, to which he responded he noticed nothing. I fact when I recieved them they were intact. Well, just today I walked to a hair cutting appointment about half mile in distance and as I walked into the shop the left sole was flopping. I was so disappointed, I contacted Danner Support, and all they could tell me is it not made in the USA, (made in China, of course) and it is a discontinued model. All they could offer me is a 40% discount on a pair purchased on their website. Don't think I will ever buy Danner again.

Got the Trail Guard platform vicious non-metallic toe boots for work they are GREAT!!! love the feel and comfort of Danner boots i have purchased 2 other pair of Danners in the past for hunting they are the most comfortable and driest boots i have owned. I highly recommend these boots lightweight and durability a plus.

i meant to return a pair of trail 2650's i'd bought as they seemed flimsy , unsupportive and you could feel every single pebble through the sole. anyway, i decided finally to keep them. wish i hadn't. a single walk round the trail at cap d'antibes and they are falling apart. worst of all, i posted a review on these boots on their website and they have not published it. deceptive. will never buy from them again
