I have been with Columbia Threadneedle for many years and they have grown my investments there quite well (I suppose) but the interface does not make it easy to assess how well comparatively they were doing or their different trusts. No accessible charts or sufficient online information, all still brochure based, all still posted at relative expense. Nice people but becoming out of date

Have been investing with F&C for over 40 years when Michael Hart was the fund manager of F&C. I have always had good service from them. I had an inquiry recently and used the 'chat to us'. My inquiry was answered promptly and clearly by Luke.
I feel very comfortable that my money is with F&C (now Columbia Threadneedle).

On-line chat very helpful and answered my queries easily and quickly.

The only complaint I have is that the info sent about my daughter's Children's Trust Fund didn't make it too clear that the account would no longer be visible to me in the app or online, once she turned 18. Even though I didn't want to do anything with the account, just see what it's value was so I could tell her on her birthday, as it was a significant part of her bday gifts, I was disappointed to not be able to show her the value. So she will need to create her own account and log in to see it, which sort of detracted from the idea of giving her the account as a gift on her bday itself.

They have a telephone and use it to speak with customers. They are always polite on the phone but always wanting feedback which feels like I'm being pestered. Never really had any challenging problems with CTN just straightforward transactions which have been fine. Not tested them under pressure.

Luke was able to answer my specific question and supplied all the detail that was required. He also offered further assistance if required.

Had some questions related to my son’s CTF fund which had recently matured. Chatted with Kayleigh and Jodie who were extremely helpful, courteous and friendly.

The customer service agent did not appreciate the situation I was facing. They resorted to quoting company procedure at me. They were unwilling to take the extra step of taking my problem and resolving it. It was not a difficult problem. It should have been a straight forward matter. I am really disappointed with the service I received from Columbia Threadneedle.

I put £10 into my new ISA. They have blocked the account and sent a letter requesting proof that the sender with my name was me. It must be signed by a solicitor. This is madness, I'll just open an ISA with another company.

I had a LISA with CTN.
I initiated a transfer of it to another provider which I felt would be more reliable (there are some bad reviews on here, but I've tried not to influence this review).

Whenever I used the online portal to make queries, it went well; they also allow you to pay management fees via direct debit so that you can make more out of your allowance; these are good things.

However, when transferring from them, I found that it took a very long time to be processed.
In addition, they also charged a 25% withdrawal fee on cash in my account during the transfer, which was incorrect. If I hadn't spotted this, it would have gone unnoticed. This is quite poor management of my finances, and is the main reason for the low score.
In addition, I found the interface, and searching for statements etc. to be complicated. The portal doesn't work well with firefox browser either.

EDIT: I received a call from them; they acknowledged their mistakes and made a suitable compensation payment for the trouble. The caller was quite sympathetic and it seems like they care, so I hope they are able to improve their procedures and become a better company.

The customer care of Columbia Threadneedle is excellent. Susan Harper from the department Retail escalations has always answered all my requests and queries immediately, efficiently and with a friendly tone. The buying and selling of share is totally stress free.

The retail escalation team of Ms Susan Harper demonstrated great care and skills in helping us with our redemption request. We live in the other end of the world and Ms Susan Harper worked with us with great efficiency and in a timely fashion. It has been our unfortunate experience with some funds that redemptions can be not only painful, time consuming and frustration. Not so with Columbia threadneedle funds. We would recommend these funds to our children and others for the excellent returns and service.
