Julianna is so knowledgeable, positive, versatile as a facilitator. She guided our school through a series of Zoom PDs to build engagement & plan for support of our students at various points in the teaching/learning cycle. I appreciated the resources she used, the collaborative docs she shared that we had to go back to, the research based references, and the willingness to pivot and answer our questions. I would be interested in her future PDs especially when I could know more in advance about what I would be getting out of it--eg, choosing to attend one that met my interest/needs.

Sessions were always started and ended on time. Sessions were packed with hands-on activities, modeling, and specific and immediatly-applicable tools, strategies, and pedagogy. Excellent all of the way around!!

I like the strategies and tools told about in the sessions. I also like how we were able to try them out live and not have to wait to do it on our own. The articles made me rethink how I do things to better help my students and seeing what others had to say and their thoughts, is helpful to see I am not alone in some of my thinking.

The organization of the presenter. She was very relatable and she allowed for us to understand the content every month.

Julianna does an excellent job of explaining formative assessment and how to utilize this in the classroom weekly to inform instruction. She also shows how this standards based grading system can be converted to the traditional grading system which is very helpful since most schools still use this system. In this workshop, valuable resources are given to use in the classroom along with a resource for sharing this information with students so they understand how they will be graded in class. I have been trying for a while to create a standards based grading system in my classroom that allows me to quickly address student misconceptions/errors (through small groups) but will still allow me to convert to the traditional grading system my school uses. This method does it all!

Juliana is very down-to-earth and understands what teachers are facing in their classrooms. She offers real strategies that can be utilized immediately!

I cannot say enough amazing things about the Math Wars Method! The information is wonderful and practical. It makes so much sense and I use what I have learned every day. I have internalized it and I am inspired by what I have learned. I am a 20 year teacher and this is the best advice I have received and it has reignited my spark! Thank you!!

Math Wars has been great in my middle school classroom. In fact, after I implemented it mid-year, one of my 6th graders recently told me that it was "one of the best decisions I've made in the classroom." Kids come in daily asking if we're playing math wars, and several students have commented that they understand the lessons better since we've started using this method. It has made a big difference in their confidence and participation in class. I was hesitant to spend the money at first, but it has been well worth it. Highly recommend!

Excellent, easy ways to increase engagement in math classrooms along with some pertinent research that has been done on math anxiety causes and work-arounds. I wish it was longer!
