I love Codementor. Give me the liberty to choose the right job. No BS of having to have credit or bids to interact with Mentee.

Scam
They ask you long poll about your developer experience stating that poll will be payed if successfully filled.
They left comment about somebody already received Amazon gift card for passing the poll. But they will not wend you anything

As soon as I had the thought that I needed something like this I stumbled upon Codementor and the site fulfilled all my needs. An indispensable tool for the 21st century

Seems to work just like it should! I signed up, described the problem I wanted help with and quickly received 2 offers for help. The first was honest in saying that he wasn't 100% confident of his skills once we'd chatted in more detail - no problem there.

The second guy was awesome - we've collaborated frequently since and it's really stopped me wasting hours bashing my head against brick walls and allowed me to gain a real pro-insight into how I should be doing things.

Invaluable little site!

I signed up for Codementor a couple of weeks ago, then I received approval for being a mentor, after they did some evaluation of my profile. At that point I almost forgot about them, but went on to browse the open requests, found a proper one, I thought I could be helpful with. Sure enough, the person (mentee) responded and scheduled a session the same day.
A good amount of requests come each day, and the platform is running very smooth, no issues and glitches so far.
There's an initial setup process that has many steps (setting up secure 2FA, filling your tax form, adding PayPal or other account, and all that jazz), but it's a one time thing and you should be good to go from there.

More in tune with short term high quality rubber ducking, than, e.g. upwork.

I had so far only bad experiences with codementor platform. There are many freelancers that promise you the sky and then fail to deliver. CodeMentor is a breeding ground for trouble, potential waste of time, money and effort. I suggest codementor comes up with a workflow that prevents hirers from being scammed by freelancer. so far, the onus is on the hirers to make sure they do not get scammed. But many hirers are inexperienced and non-tech persons. Codementor exists to make the life of non-techies easier. Its seem in this aspect, there is much more to be improved.
