Receiving a smart card was like manna from heaven. Although it's quite confusing having to spend it on line. We pay our gas and electricity by direct debit.

Recieved a pre-paid clever card from a charity and it was from the household support fund/Council/Citizens advice.

1. Easy to use, as you could spin the card around.
2. Money went on straight away.
3. Fast, Easy & felt secure creating the account.

I have been trying to activate the card…

I have been trying to activate the card I received from my employer since 2nd April. I got a message to say its a problem with a third party service provider. Before Easter the message said a few days and for the last week its saying 2 weeks. I am very worried now. You can't ring them and both times I emailed support they just repeat the message I get when I try to activate my card.

UNACCEPTABLE

I purchased a clevercard specifically to fund this weekend ahead. Advised today (not in advance) that card can't be activated due to 3rd party error and will take 2 weeks to resolve. I had to find this out myself. Totally unacceptable. No communication, not good enough. It's our money to use, not yours.

I have been unable to upload funds to…

I have been unable to upload funds to my account. When I contacted customer service for help, I only received automated replies stating they are not the bank, which doesn't address my issue. No actual support has been provided to resolve the problem. I hope this can be fixed soon and will update my review if it is.

I'll admit I'd never heard of CleverCards prior, so called and spoke with a representative who assured me that all was above board.

When I registered my card everything was straight forward and I found the whole process of using it very easy.

Trying to validate my card but not luck…

Trying to validate my card but not luck was told not there problem it's a 3rd party one. It will take 2 weeks to sort out. Very bad business anyone know how long it's been down so far. Will absolutely never use again.

Your system is currently down

Your system is currently down, and I’ve been advised it will take approximately 2.5 weeks before I can validate my card. That timeframe is completely unacceptable.

A person should not be allowed to add…

A person should not be allowed to add funds to an account before all account details are verified.

This has happened to our company where my managing director added funds and we cannot give them to our employees. Clevercard say its an issue with a photographic ID. This is very frustrating for us as a company, we had hoped this would be a great way of giving bonuses to our employees.

We organised clever cards for our staff…

We organised clever cards for our staff easter bonus. We spent a large amount of money but got no warning from clever cards about the delay. Two weeks later and still no contact, no update. Terribly poor customer service.
I understand that there is a technical problem but the information sent out has been very poorly communicated. Wont be using them again. We still have no information and a lot of very diasppointed staff
