They claimed that the bill would be lower, and it wasn't. It was well over the normal billing rate. It was easy to remove, but it's all under false pretenses. I actually get a better rate from my current electric supplier over them. So yeah don't use them.

I would never recommend clean choice…

I would never recommend clean choice energy to anybody. They need to get with the times, not everybody still goes to their mailbox. If you are changing things, you should probably I don’t know call or send an email because not everybody gets mail anymore because everything is done electronically because they changed my rate I wasn’t informed about it and it’s skyrocketed my bill up to $780. I am one person and normally my electric bill is $150 but because they changed their rate it skyrocketed my bill causing me not to be able to pay $780 on top of my rent and everything else and my electricity got shot off. Don’t try getting in contact with them because you won’t hear anything whatsoever but I would never in 1 million years recommend clean choice energy to anybody.

Due to the extreme cold temperatures in many areas this winter, millions of consumers had to use significantly more electricity to heat their homes than in past winters. This not only increased electric bills due to consumers using more electricity in their homes—it also led to increased demand, which caused nearly every electric supplier in the region (not just CleanChoice Energy) to incur higher costs to serve their customers and therefore raise prices. We are working with customers experiencing hardship to provide options and relief.

We certainly understand that some customers prefer email over a letter; however, certain state regulations require a mailed letter rather than an email for contract renewal notices. Although we respect your right not to be contacted and will not reach out, we urge you to contact us and reference this review so that we can review your specific circumstances and try to offer you relief. You can connect with us by calling 1-800-218-0113 (Monday through Friday, 8am to 7pm ET) or by emailing us 24/7 at support@cleanchoiceenergy.com and reference this review. (So far in March, we have answered calls in less than 20 seconds on average, and 89% of callers had their calls answered in less than 30 seconds—so if you have attempted to reach out to our Customer Care team in the past, we apologize if you’ve ran into any issues!).

Thank you again for reaching out, and thank you for the time during which you supported 100% clean energy. We appreciate the positive impact that you made on our environment.

A No Brainer!

I have been very happy with CleanChoice Energy. Working with them is great, their prices are competitive and I love that I am using an energy source that is wonderful for the environment.

Clean energy at an increased cost

I liked knowing that I was receiving and using clean energy but my bills increased and we had to switch back.

We also found that right before you cancelled, your usage increased significantly (likely because it was the summer season, when many customers’ usage increases significantly due to air conditioning)—this likely contributed to the increase in your electric bill. If you are willing to give us a shot in the future, we are offering an even lower fixed rate to customers in your area than what we were offering before. We can also provide you with some energy savings tips to help you use less electricity during the summer and winter seasons when customers typically see a spike in their energy usage. I received deceptive marketing from CleanChoice

I received marketing from CleanChoice. I use ComEd. The marketing I received was deceptive and predatory. They inferred in a rather blatant way that they were COMED and that there was an urgent form to fill out. Good companies don’t try to trick people into choosing them. I believe the marketing could easily confuse vulnerable consumers.

Looking at your account, all of our CleanChoice Energy electricity charges have been less than $200 in the time you have been with us, and they have all been less than $150 since September. Your electricity rate per kWh with us has also remained the same during this time. I like the fact of saving the planet

I like the fact of saving the planet. The informative emails saying how much I had saved was very nice. It was great that they offered a low price for a year but now that it has doubled I may have to start looking for a lower price.
