Had a terrible experience with CPR in Roanoke, VA that cost me $210 for a phone that’s still doesn’t work.

BUYER BEWARE…. Here’s the story.

I turned the phone over to them with full transparency that the phone had a cracked screen and that the phone gave us a warning that there was water damage. This was middle to late December. I was told it was not a problem and that they could fix it for $210. A little skeptical I asked the employee if that was for a full fix, a fully functioning phone? He replied “Yes”. Okay no problem. I drop the phone off and they fix the screen and tell me it’s done. I pick it up and turn it on and it starts boot looping every 30 seconds. We had not had this problem before. The phone eventually gives me an error during one of the boot loops saying the screen in not a genuine iPhone part. We click okay and nothing happens but I’d does continue to boot loop. So we take it back to CPR the following day as the phones still doesn’t function. After a MONTH of them having the phone with no progress we decide it is time we must take the phone back and take a different action, that CPR bit off more than they could chew and made a promise to provide a fully functioning phone when they could not. I was offered to take the new screen off and be charged $40 for labor OR keep the screen and pay the full $210 even though the phone still did not function. Employee then has the audacity to tell me we only brought it in for a screen. No, we told you it also had water damage. Lol then why keep it and continue to work on it for a month with no results. Well…. it’s because he knows it was part of the original deal…a fully functional phone. So I make a choice and tell CPR to take off the new screen because it makes no sense to put a new screen on a broken phone and put my screen (the original cracked screen) back on it. Ill pay the $40 for time and labor. Then….. they say we can’t put your screen back on we threw your screen away. We don’t have it anymore. So I’m stuck with a $210 screen or just no screen whatsoever, lol that’s crazy. Okay okay… I am a reasonable guy. I tell the guy look give me a discount on the screen of $50 a lot has transpired and you did do work on it. Reasonable thing to do. Nope, and starts up with how much time he put into it but yet he never had any updates on the phone other than we still don’t know what’s wrong with it. Look, people don’t pay businesses for them to give it the “old college try” here. We pay for completed work. Could you imagine if a roofer showed up to put shingles on your house and starts telling you he can’t finish because he doesn’t know how and still charges you caused he tried really hard. That’s insane right? I bit the bullet and said keep the money, and they were happy to do it, and so here we are. I have to be that guy that writes a crap review for some crap company. I don’t write reviews hardly for anything unless it’s outstanding or just absolutely horrid. Unfortunately it’s the latter in this case. BE VERY WEARY OF THIS COMPANY. I will avoid them from here on out for sure. If for some reason you deal with them anyway. DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM BY WORD OF MOUTH, GET EVERYTHING DOCUMENTED. They will take advantage of you. Your best bet is to steer clear completely.

Puchased screen saver a couple months ago for about $50. Was told it was it had life time replacement cost for about $10. Broke the screen and had it replaced. Went to get another screen protector and was refused because it was removed by the company that replace the screen. Had my receipt. Sales person said he needed the old one to send in. All new news to me. Manager would even talk to me. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS NILES OHIO STORE. SCAMMERS. STOLE $50 FROM ME.

I went to get my iPhone repaired which took 3 hours But when I got home my mic and gps wasn’t working. Went back to the store, no apology and staff was rude. I left my phone for another hour and verbally told him I was disappointed and he still didn’t apologize. He kept on finding a reason for the problem instead of been accountable

Mauvais service

I went to one of their stores and asked them to repair my USB-C Port on my phone and they cleaned it out, which is all it took to repair it, and didn't even charge me!! I love CPR Cell Phone Repair!!

I have nothing bad to say about this company the work is good they are professional and usually you aren't waiting weeks for your phone to be repaired.

I recommend them to everybody I know.

DO NOT GET…
I took in my iPhone XR because my screen was completely destroyed after I dropped it on the road. Next thing ya know, the “new” screen they gave me had lines in it and the battery was completely ruined! It lost 10 percent of the MAXIMUM capacity which is the amount of charge your battery can hold. Update: After I think 3-4 trips, we FINALLY fixed the issue as far as right now.

Took my son’s PS5 in for a simple HDMI port replacement which was to take 5-7 days and it took 6 weeks. Take a look at the damage for yourself in the uploaded video made by Tronifixs on You-Tube.

The owners, Brett and Vince, refuse to take accountability and ownership for this high-end item damage and speak to you like your are a child when you try to communicate with them. The lack of unprofessional is something I have never seen before from a business.

They did not respond to the BBB complaint and continue to take my reviews down on their site. Please learn from our mistake.

The purpose of this review is not necessarily to knock CPR, per se. But, for you to hear the facts about what my experience was like. And for you to make your own decision as to whether you want to do business with them based on what I have experienced. $35 for a screen replacement is a really great price. But, if the resulting installed part makes your phone worse off after the repair then it's not really worth the investment of the time or money. They replaced one screen because it had a blemish. Bottom line, they installed a screen that's so buggy it calls people I don't know, out of the blue, w/o my permission. And their screen is really embarrassing me. It's under their warranty. And they're refusing to fix it. I suspect they installed a cheap Chinese knock-off part. And that's why it keeps calling people I don't know and embarrassing me. It's less hassle to spend $80 at "Batteries Plus". After, Batteries Plus removes CPR's defective cellphone screen I could hand deliver CPR's defective Chinese part back to them. But, I don't know if that red headed guy at CPR would take the removed part back or not. Learn vicariously, from my mistake, and take your cell phone to some other shop to get it repaired right. ;)

These guys have now repaired 2 broken screens for my family, and helped me get an old iphone7 working again. Super fast service and Fair pricing. I highly recommend them.

i went to the Fairlawn store in Ohio and Joshua was fantastic. He fixed my screen and was very professional and true to his word. I had ordered a lifetime warranty for my screen protector and he stated if i brought it in he would replace it. He did and was very knowledgeable about the whole process. A total asset to the company
