Make sure it’s what you want
Purchased some BG switches on 25 May at Newcastle branch (only place in stock), once home found to be unsuitable so took them to local Washington branch for refund on 30 May. Once reaching the front of queue, told refund not possible as bought elsewhere…… they MUST go back to branch where purchased. When asked why different to competitors like Screwfix, Toolstation, B&Q etc, etc., answer was ‘that’s the way it is’. Nationwide stores, nationwide madness.
Travelled back to Newcastle today, staff really helpful but they had to get on the phone to someone in IT to process a cash refund…… apparently a recent change to branch accounts and cash purchases / refunds has simply screwed the staff, and the customer. Got there in the end, refund expected in the next couple of days.
Morale of the story, don’t buy something via cash sale at a different branch that may have to go back.
I suggest CEF contact Noah for a copy of his policy, procedures and IT system, as the Ark was more up to date than this lot.
