It was a good experience but they didn't wash my car when I went to collect it.

I agreed a sale for my Skoda Karoq through Carwow, and Car Planet was the winning dealer. The car is in great condition with a full service history and a completely clear dashboard. Despite this, their inspector turned up and tried to aggressively drop the agreed price by £1,797 on my driveway.

He tried to claim that the normal ticking sound and natural vibration of a 1.0L 3-cylinder engine meant the engine was failing. This is completely false. It is basic engineering that 3-cylinder engines rock more at idle, and modern direct-injection engines always make a ticking noise. The inspector then tried to nudge me into lowering my price, asking if I wanted to put forward a counter-offer of maybe £10,000 instead of the agreed £10,797. I firmly refused.

A salesperson from Car Planet called me shortly after and tried to justify the inspector's nonsense. He claimed that six mechanics had reviewed a video of the engine and diagnosed a timing belt issue. It is completely absurd to suggest six mechanics were immediately available to watch a video, let alone diagnose a timing belt issue from a phone clip.

When I realized they wouldn't back down, I asked the salesperson, "Can you tell me what your final counter-offer is so I can report this accurately to carwow?" He literally hung up the phone on me.

I cancelled the sale immediately, complained to carwow, and had an independent mechanic check the car right after. The mechanic confirmed the car is 100% healthy. Car Planet simply used fake mechanical faults as a bullying tactic to chip the price down. Do your research and do not let them intimidate you.

Would never buy from them again they told my the wrong price but only after I’d accepted financed and signed all paperwork and sold my car avoid these scammers!

I was booked for a garage visit, for boot creaky noise and rear car seat not closing as it should be.
Garage visit was uneventful. The manager was nice, looked the issues of my car. Sorted out the issues what they can do their best. It was a peaceful of mind visit.
Due to issues I rated only 1 before. At that time that was the rate I could give for my experiences.
But yesterday I had a lovely experience. Today they phoned to check while I was at church. I phoned them back ,within minutes I got connection. So happy.
They are improving their services which is a good sign for the customers.
Sababa was very helpful this time to book the garage and to support for the car issues. Thank you Sababa.
For their improvement my rating jumped from 1-4.

Worst car dealership in history. We bought a car and within a day of buying the gearbox started making noise. No one from the sales team was cooperative in dealing with the issue. After days of trying to get in touch and awaiting a response, nobody was willing to take responsibility or compensate us. The manager finally reassured to take the faulty car back, and that we could choose a different one. They then went on to delay the repairs on the new one, and did a dodgy job with it. They lost all our valuables in the car. I asked for a refund because im still within my rights to reject, now being ignored by the company with no answers and no replies. I would not recommend Car planet to my worst enemy. I wish i could give 0 stars! Stay away from these people, they are BIG SCAMS and donot care once they get your money!!

Sales advisor Ibu listened to what I was looking for and made car suggestions. I was able to complete the purchase of the car in one day which was very convenient.

Was there for hours waiting around, very slow service. We had a phone call with them the day beforehand and were told everything was ok to pick the car up next day, so we were expecting to go in and leave pretty quickly. However this was not the case, staff were friendly enough but still the whole experience took way too long and wasted a lot of our time.

Do not buy from Car Planet.
It was the worst experience I’ve ever had. Poor service, poor communication, and I would not recommend them to anyone. Buy elsewhere if you want to avoid the stress.

We bought a car that broke down after just six days. We tried calling for days but couldn’t get hold of anyone, which was incredibly frustrating. We also paid £700 for the RAC warranty, expecting it to cover repairs, but when the car needed fixing, the warranty didn’t cover the cost and we still had to pay £175 ourselves.

Overall, we’ve been extremely disappointed with both the customer service and the after-sales support. Based on our experience, I would not recommend buying a car from Car Planet.

Awful experience when dealing with this company. Worst customer service I have ever received in my life. Ignored whatsapp messages, ignored emails, ignored formal complaints. Rude and defensive responses when speaking to on the phone and directly to their customer service team. Blaming the customer rather than apologising.

I would AVOID this company at all costs. Do not bother as soon as they get your money they do not care!

An absolute nightmare, different sales employees calling with out of date information, they promise things and have yet to produce.

The overall buying from Car Planet was not without its issues. I felt the viewing and test drive was a little rushed, the push to buy other products, warranty was given more emphasis than the actual car. When collecting the car I noted that the NSF wheel had been damaged.
I refused to accept the car until it was repaired which took 5 days. The repair is not brilliant and has been repaired without removing the tyre.
The car was not clean when I did collected it, although Mo, the salesman did offer to wash it before I took delivery, which I refused.
Mo was very good, very professional and a nice person to deal with and did his job very well. He did keep me informed throughout the process and during the wheel repair, so no complaints with him at all. Would I buy from Car Planet again, yes but would take more time viewing the car. In short its not like buying from a dealer, but then they are not one!! What they do they did quite well.

A few months ago I agreed to purchase a car from Car Planet. The sales process involved plenty of hard-sell tactics, but on the face of it the deal seemed good, so I went ahead.

Just five days after collecting the car, the engine management light came on. Getting hold of anyone in the aftersales team was incredibly difficult, often involving hours on the phone. Eventually they agreed to repair the car and provide a courtesy car, but arranging the collection and repair was a nightmare and required countless more phone calls.

While waiting, a friend plugged in an OBD reader and identified an AdBlue system fault. When the courtesy car finally arrived, it was completely unacceptable. It was filthy, full of rubbish and cigarette butts, had damaged windows and mirrors, and broke down the very same day because it overheated whenever it was put under load.

After even more time trying to contact aftersales, my own car was returned. I was told the AdBlue system had simply been recalibrated. I questioned this because the manufacturer's guidance for the fault indicated that the AdBlue system should be replaced, not recalibrated. Unsurprisingly, only a few days later the same fault returned. Plugging the OBD reader back in showed the fault code had simply been cleared rather than the underlying issue being fixed.

At that point I formally rejected the car. Right at the last minute they persuaded me to accept a replacement instead, offering the model I had originally wanted, along with an additional discount. Desperate to have a reliable car, I agreed.

After driving two hours to complete the exchange, I found the replacement car was filthy, had damaged interior trim, and was smoking from the engine bay due to blow-by around the oil filler cap. It was clearly not in a condition that should have been presented to a customer.

In total, I experienced three different vehicles from Car Planet, and none of them were fit for purpose. Some were arguably unsafe to drive. It then took weeks to receive my refund.

My advice is simple: be extremely cautious before buying from this dealership. Also take the five-star reviews with a pinch of salt, as I was encouraged to leave a review before I had any real experience of the car or the aftersales service. For me, the true test of a dealership is how they deal with problems after the sale, and unfortunately Car Planet failed that test completely. Avoid like the plague.

I dealt with 3 people at Car planet, the sales man, his superviser and then a manager.
Firstly, my telephone calls were recorded without my knowledge, nor being told that calls were recorded. I know this as the car salesman said his supervisor was listening to the original call i had when CP called me regards my initial enquiry. Question marks over data protection.
In summary, i was promised remedial works to the car, within a very specifc time frame, which were not done satisfactorily. I was promised a video of the remedial works, which never materialised and rather than saying what the problem was i was just told they had 4000 cars to manage and what did i expect. As it turned out, the car sales man finally told me the works had been done, car returned as the remedial works were not good enough, and then sent back. to be re done. once told the works were done, we made a 3 hour round trip to find that indeed they had not all been done at all.. Left waiting for two hours with no time frame as to when matters would be concluded. The sales manager was actually offensive to us to the point that others in the room got up and walked out as they found his communications and behaviour appaulling (they came over and told us they'd left the room as they so appaulled by him) He advised us that they deal with volume, not customer service. He was disrespectful and utterly rude, both in words and non verbal communications. Had i not wanted that specific car there is not a chance i would ever have a purchased a car from them. The paper work remains incorrect.
By wat of update, after I left this review Mash from customer support contacted me and whilst he couldn’t change my experience he did refund me the car wash money, sent the correct paperwork and sent me the 150 checklist which was very helpful. Obviously that should be available at point of sale ( before) but his communication was faultless and he actually did respond to emails immeadiately and kept me fully informed of the efforts he was personally making to turn my experience around. Thank you Mash for your communications and efforts.

Avoid these cow boys they sell you nothing but lies and cars that come with major issues! Look up car planet affected customers on Facebook and see for yourself, don’t listen to the fake 5 star reviews they post on here!
