Extremely frustrating experience with Meta Ads, poor support and still waiting for our refund of the remaining funds

My experience with Meta Ads has been extremely disappointing and frustrating. What should have been straightforward advertising campaigns and promotions for our legitimate real estate business turned into a long and unnecessary process of technical, verification, and account-related problems.

We simply wanted to run advertising campaigns and promote property listings for our business. Instead, we encountered repeated issues with the Promote and advertising features, despite having funds available, as well as problems with business verification, beneficiary and payer information, and the advertising account setup.

We provided the requested company documentation and followed the suggested procedures. Despite this, the process remained unclear, with repeated issues and no clear explanation of what was actually preventing or restricting us from advertising.

After dealing with these ongoing problems and the lack of effective support, we ultimately decided to close the advertising accounts ourselves. However, we are still waiting for the refund of the remaining funds.

The biggest problem throughout this experience has been the lack of effective customer support. When a legitimate business is trying to resolve account, verification, and advertising issues, there should be a straightforward way to speak with someone who can actually investigate the situation and provide a clear solution. Instead, you are largely left dealing with automated systems, help pages, and unclear support processes.

I understand that Meta needs security, verification, and advertising policies. However, legitimate businesses should not have to spend countless hours trying to resolve basic account issues, especially when their money is involved.

After this experience, we are seriously reconsidering whether we want to invest any further money into Meta advertising. The time, frustration, and lack of reliable support have completely outweighed the potential benefits of the platform.

For a company of Meta’s size, I expected a much more professional, reliable, and business-friendly support experience.

I AM ABSOLUTELY FURIOUS WITH META!!!
We relocated to Tashkent, Uzbekistan and tried to launch a completely legitimate advertising campaign for a local photography business.
What should have been a simple process turned into DAYS of fighting Meta’s broken verification and support systems!!!
Our ad account Gertner photo is ACTIVE.
A valid Visa payment method is attached.
There are NO policy violations.
The campaign is ready to publish.
And Meta still blocks publishing with ERROR #3858013, demanding phone verification that simply DOES NOT WORK!!!
We tested TWO different active Uzbekistan Ucell numbers:
- +998 50 *** 34 59
- +998 93 *** ** **
Normal SMS works.
Normal calls work.
OTP codes from other services work.
META SMS DOES NOT ARRIVE!!!
META AUTOMATED CALLS DO NOT ARRIVE!!!
WhatsApp verification also failed to send SMS or place a call on both numbers.
We contacted the mobile carrier.
We checked network settings.
We disabled call forwarding.
We tested 3G.
We checked filtering.
I EVEN SPENT AN EXTRA 45,000 UZS BUYING A SECOND PHONE NUMBER JUST TO TROUBLESHOOT META’S BROKEN VERIFICATION SYSTEM!!!
Then Meta’s own support assistant detected an Access Block [Cybersecurity].
I enabled 2FA.
I waited more than 24 hours exactly as instructed.
I made no verification attempts during the cooldown.
THE BLOCK REMAINED!!!
Then Meta sent me to Account Quality.
NO REVIEW BUTTON!!!
Then Support Inbox.
NO CONTACT SUPPORT OPTION!!!
Then “direct support links”.
ONE RETURNED NOT FOUND!!!
ANOTHER RETURNED THIS PAGE ISN’T AVAILABLE!!!
Then the assistant kept sending me THE SAME BROKEN LINKS AGAIN!!!
Then I was told to verify my identity with a government-issued ID.
I submitted my passport.
IDENTITY VERIFICATION PASSED!!!
And guess what?
ERROR #3858013 STILL REMAINS.
SMS STILL DOES NOT ARRIVE.
Meta’s own assistant now admits:
- Identity verification: PASSED
- Ad account: ACTIVE
- Technical error: CONFIRMED
- Human support: UNAVAILABLE
- Working self-service resolution: NONE
THIS IS INSANE!!!
Meta is literally preventing a legitimate business from PAYING THEM FOR ADVERTISING because their own verification system is broken, while also providing NO WORKING WAY TO CONTACT A HUMAN!!!
I have wasted days on this.
I have wasted money on this.
I have followed every instruction they gave me.
I have been sent through broken menus, dead links, contradictory account structures and endless automated support loops.
THIS IS ONE OF THE WORST SUPPORT EXPERIENCES I HAVE EVER HAD!!!
A company the size of Meta should not have a system where:
THEIR SYSTEM FAILS → THEIR BOT CONFIRMS THE FAILURE → THEIR SUPPORT LINKS DO NOT WORK → HUMAN SUPPORT IS UNAVAILABLE → THE CUSTOMER IS TOLD TO JUST WAIT!!!

How have they not fixed this mess of an experience?? It is unacceptable for the amount of dollars spent marketing through Facebook business that the user experience is this bad. Basic things are impossible to find. You end up in never ending loops trying to do something as simple as remove administrators from an account. I absolutely dread using it, and as the CMO of a company, I am forced to. That is literally the only reason anyone ever uses it, because we have to. This needs to be redone completely. Facebook stop bringing out features and focus on fixing the most frustrating part of working on your platform.

Meta Business Suite riesce nell’impresa di rendere complicate anche le cose che dovrebbero essere semplicissime. Ogni volta che la apro penso: “Dai, oggi magari funziona”. Spoiler: no.

Tra caricamenti eterni, funzioni che sembrano nascoste apposta e momenti in cui il telefono rischia seriamente di fare un volo dal balcone, l’unica cosa che funziona perfettamente è la capacità dell’app di farmi perdere la pazienza.

I run a small e-commerce business. On August 21, 2026, an unauthorized person took over my Meta Business Manager and removed my admin access to my Facebook Page. Since then I've been passed between at least 6 different support agents across 4 separate case numbers, misidentified as the previous business owner in nearly every reply despite repeated corrections, given a scheduled phone call that ended with "nothing can be done," and had a case closed for "no response" even though I had replied.

To make things worse, a scammer somehow obtained my private case number and tried to extort payment from me by pretending they could fix the issue. I reported it to Meta and filed an FTC complaint.

I ultimately had to build an entirely new Business Manager and Page from scratch just to keep my business running, because Meta's own recovery process led nowhere after weeks of trying. If you depend on this platform for your livelihood, know that if something goes wrong, there is effectively no reliable path to real help.

We have been trying to complete legitimate business verification for a UAE business and a WhatsApp integration for over a month. After uploading the business license and clicking Next, the form freezes on an endless loading screen. Two support cases remained “Under review,” but Meta emailed that the case was permanently closed for inactivity even though we had replied with recordings. Case controls then opened blank panels. Today the direct Contact Support tool misrouted an explicitly labeled Business Verification failure to paid Meta Verified and domain-verification articles, with no way to open a new case or contact an agent. No owner, no timeline, no resolution. This is the worst business support experience I have encountered: both a critical workflow and its support path fail. I will gladly update this review when Meta assigns a human owner and resolves the issue.

Absolute crapshow. Their stupid business suite won't let me edit an older event boost that I want to cancel, in order to save $50. Their AI says I have to log in to the Ads Manager, at which point that boosted event isn't even listed, so I can't cancel it. Their AI can't find the event. Their AI can't cancel the event. Their AI can't pause all my ads, so that I can manually activate which one I want. Their AI can't connect me to a live rep right now. Their AI can't open a ticket for a live rep to get back to me in the future. Their AI can't refund me the money I'm about to lose on that ad. Great job, Meta. You replaced every $15/hour call center rep to piss off every single customer you have, just to save a penny. Your customer service department could not be more useless.

When opening a "Support Case" on the Meta Business Suite, the advertised response time for the live chat is 5–10 minutes, but in reality, it takes between 5 and 7 hours for an agent to join the conversation. When the agent finally comes online—sometimes in the middle of the night (when the user is obviously no longer online)—they ask a couple of questions to which they already know the answers, and which have no relevance to the issue at hand. After a few minutes without a reply, they leave the conversation and close the ticket without providing any assistance whatsoever.

The level of incompetence in customer service is staggering for a company of this scale—especially for a service aimed at professionals. Frankly, it is hard to attribute such incompetence solely to a lack of training on the part of the agents; reaching this level requires a dose of malice and laziness, as well as a great deal of bad faith.

La semana pasada pase porlo mismo con otro numero de telefono, 24 horas INACTIVO CON COSTOS PARA EL NEGOCIO COMO EL LUCRO CESANTE
Haganse cargo, ayer en una llamada telefonica le explique a una asistente humana lo que nos hacen que por favor se detengan a mirar que las realidades globales y las necesidades no son iguales para todos, de ningun modo los anuncios de Facebook son los mejores, pero se adaptan todavia hoy a empresas muy pequeñas casi familiares como la nuestra.

Never saw a customer support as bad as this one and I saw a lot

Do not do anything with Facebook ads, or adjoining sites on Facebook, they are all a scam and will not help recover money or stop them from defrauding customers

I have an online shop with an instagram joint account. I had ongoing ads from June 2025. I turned these off from the instagram professional dashboard and due to a synchronization error ( meta admitting on the chat) I kep being charged which added up to EXTRA 6K over 6 months. I am small business owner with a family, i reported this, they kept asking me to do thing and wasting over 30 hours of calls chats and administrations and giving them details of all the 20 campaigns and screenshots and what not. Continuosly telling me to wait and wait and after 3 months... the lady on the chat told me YOU HAVE TO MANUALLY TURN THEM OFF, i told her I DID, then she tells me something else, and it kepts going for an hour... to her disappointment I DID ALL THESE THINGS.... but finally.... finally.... she found a loop.... a way to show a screenshot of the day showing that i turned the ads off on those days which are not showing on the instagram ads profile... this was not possible as these were removed since the error happened... i have screen shots showing that my ad was currently showing as sponsored and it is off from my end ( this is on a chat ) they never told me to show the screenshot at the time, they kept asking me for lots of data which i gathered. I even sent instant screenshots of followers asking for offers and products which were showing as sponsored, I specifically told them "look people are still asking for this and it is not even on my website any more". They kept playing and looping around with words. These people deserve hell. they will get it now or later.
I showed screenshots to the one assisting me today she kept going, that the only way is to get proof that she literally stated "thats the thing you cannot get it so we cannot go further"

Truly the worst possible customer "service" possible. How on earth this company has any business is beyond me, the contempt with which they treat their paying customers. If you want to be restricted within minutes of applying for an account for no reason and no support, this is the business for you.

I wish I could give no stars. I do not understand how a tech billionaire owns this rubbish. I am literally (yes literally) pulling my hair out going round in circles. I cannot connect my business Instagram to Facebook page because the Business Portfolio was set at some point by some person, because Facebook decided to do that after everyone had set up Facebook pages and then a person leaves the business and you then have no access to something they didn’t even know they had . I also cannot reset my password. All actually really simple things. I have 2-factor authentication set up I have a recovery email set up I have WhatsApp recovery set up… still doesn’t work!

WHAT IS WRONG, IS THAT THERE ARE SCAMMERS USING FACEBOOK AS WELL AS OTHER WEBSITES TO CREATE SCAM JOBS, IN AN ATTEMPT TO EXTRACT MONEY FROM UNWITTING INDIVIDUALS. MANY TIMES CON ARTISTS USE FACEBOOK TO HIDE THEIR TRUE IDENTITY AND IMPROPER MOTIVES. WHEN I APPROACHED FACEBOOK WITH THESE FACTS, THEIR REACTION WAS NON EXISTENT WITHOUT ANY CONCERN OR INTENTION TO DO ANYTHING POSITIVE TO DO SOMETHING TO STOP THESE INDIVIDUALS.
