When it comes to fresh fish, Browne Trading has the best. Given that Browne pays a premium to top fishermen and distributors, we ensure our Michelin chefs and home gourmands alike receive the freshest fish, shellfish, and ethically sourced seafood. We source local Maine favorites like uni, bluefin tuna, oysters, and fresh lobster meat. From afar, we carry coveted carabinero prawns, wild Portuguese specialties, and sustainably farmed Veta la Palma fish.
Browne Trading proudly crafts small-batch smoked seafood at our Portland location. Our boutique smoke house cures, brines, smokes, slices, and packages our smoked salmon, scallops, sturgeon, and more using a cold smoke method.
When it comes to caviar, Browne Trading is the only company in the US that co-brands with caviar partner farms. We work closely with sturgeon farms in Belgium, Italy, Israel, China, and the U.S.A. to ensure transparent sourcing and the highest quality.

Smoked Salmon Far Better Than Duck Trap or Acme
Quick delivery, high quality fish. Smoked salmon far, far better quality than acme and duck trap and other grocery brands and price is the same (+ shipping but you can freeze to get more at once and spread cost out).

A lot sold out, but still a good experience
The site is excellent though a lot of items I might have bought were sold out (good news for them, bad for me). Chat response was instantaneous, which was very helpful. Delivery was perfect with lots of notices in my email alerting me to the progress of the package and delivery. Packaging, aa usual, was extensive and everything arrives in good shape.

First time ordering and was worried about my order getting delivered on time from halfway across the US. It arrived on time and in great shape! I have worked with Brown Trading for a long time, 10 plus years. Products are always the best and I can count on arrival day and time. Communications are good always.
My only complaint is that every one I send a gift to decides to order from BT themselves and I have to find them other presents.

Scallops the way they are supposed to be!
Very simple ordering process and shipping was exactly as stated. 3-1/LB containers arrived overnight and the ice packs were completely frozen. Most of the scallops are the size of a 50-cent coin. No issues at all and will be enjoying these for several meals.

It is getting better....
Yep, new smoker and this is my third time since a long shutdown to try out smoked salmon from Browne Trading. It is getting better but it is nowhere near to pre covid quality levels, new smoker, need more time to learn how to use it to reach for potential or new crew not as good as old one? We will see, at this this Catsmo is better although few bucks more.
