Very poor experience having brodies of aberdeen as solicitor. Spent over 15k trying to have a structured contact arrangement put in place that best suite needs of my child and both party’s amicably but the lack of addressing the issue and acting in my intrests as the client was poor. You come away feeling like your a cash cow as they string things along to get every penny out of you possible and not trying there best to represent you . The opposition solicitor who is funded by legal aid did a far better job and must of really enjoyed having little fight back. My advise is do not go to solicitor for any family law advise take the matter to court with Initial Writ and section 11 and represent yourself and save thousand on email ping pong where on the whole you’ll write all the emails yourself but pay the solicitor to hit send .

Having been verbally and mentally abused by their client, they sent me a rather poor quality and patronising response, talking down to me, belittling my suffering their client caused and they harm that they did, their arguments are poor quality and laughable, if you are a client looking to lose your case look no further, if you are a claimant looking to win a case you are in luck and their solicitors are poor in terms of legal arguments and they are highly incompetent and talk down to you and also threaten you. They should be disbarred

I would strongly advise anyone considering Brodies LLP to think again.

I recently received a letter from them on behalf of a family member, and it was one of the poorest pieces of legal correspondence I’ve ever seen. Instead of addressing the facts, it was full of baseless accusations, threats of harassment and defamation, and intimidation tactics. The letter ignored the findings of the Office of the Public Guardian, which had already properly investigated the matter, and tried to paint legitimate safeguarding concerns as “malicious” or “frivolous.”

In my view, this shows:

Poor professionalism – the letter looked hastily drafted, without regard to evidence or context.

Weak client service – Brodies seemed more interested in intimidation than legal merit.

Reputation issues – their approach matches the many negative reviews you can find online about high fees, slow service, and lack of empathy.

A good law firm should resolve disputes constructively and advise clients realistically. Instead, Brodies’ heavy-handed tactics only inflame situations and undermine trust.

If you want quality, considered legal advice, avoid Brodies LLP. There are far better firms out there who won’t waste your time (or your opponent’s) with meritless threats and poorly thought-out letters.

Did not reply to online questionnaire. Why tout for business and then not have the courtesy of replying?

Booked a birthday party for my 5 year old daughter, The staff were so polite, helpful and cheerful here, made you feel really welcome, it was also lovely and clean! All the children really enjoyed themselves. Amazing day!! Will be going back there for definite!!😊

Currently trying to sue this company for professional negligence, absolutely shocking methods of practice this company uses. In the process of submitting a complaint to the SLCC, paid over 30K in solicitors fees and the only thing I have to vouch for it is un-itemized invoices. I have never met such an incompetent company.

Slow arrogant and useless. One letter (which I largely wrote for them) was £6000, then they took their eye of the ball and lost the initiative, then they did a run and stopped communicating with me.. should not be in business and would not last five minutes in London.
