We had to get insurance in a hurry and Frances was beyond helpful. We had to have her call back three different times, as we were waiting for the registration number and Frances did it without any issues, fuss and it was at the time we requested.

We had just been scammed at the same time as funds from out Britline account were due to transfer to the Notary for our house purchase. Everyone we contacted, including at 3am to lock down the account, was brilliant. Next day, Sophie Dumbleton and Diane Ogilvie in particular were exemplary: they were kind, thoughtful, professional, and totally reassuring, They took the time to explain matters and answer any questions. Diane even called me back later saying they'd been thinking how to help us without credit cards (while waiting for the new ones). Showing how banking, and in fact any professional services, can be done well. Thank you.

I have banked with Credit Agricole for nearly 30 years. Then when I became fiscally resident in the UK following retirement, I was unilaterally transferred out of my local branch to this 'Britline' joke whose staff insist on attempts at communicating to me in English - something I didn't need and find irritating given the poor standard of spoken English by some of the staff. During my previous years of banking via the local branch I had nothing but praise for the standard of service received. In the three years of 'Britline' association i have endured nothing but grief from a completely incompetent group of so called advisors. The latest resulted from discovering my wife's renewed debit card had been sent to an old address and was out somewhere in the wild. Over a period of 6 weeks I requested the card be cancelled and so avoid any potential fraudulent use. Eventually a card cancellation was effected BUT NOT the missing card rather it was mine. So the missing card is still capable of fraudulent use and I cant make any online purchases. I raised a formal complaint with a demand for the immediate cancellation of my wife's card and reinstatement of mine. The reply was that the matter will be investigated and a response provided in 10 days!!! I attempted to freeze my wife's card online as an alternative but the message on the site says the debit card is not eligible for temporary locking. This branch of Credit Agricole is a disgrace - even it's branding is an insult to English speaking customers who might not be British. I would advise avoiding like the plague.

As banking becomes more and more impersonal in England, Britline bucks the trend in Normandy, France. Very refreshing to find that individuals (Sophie Dumbleton in this case) and the Britline team still exist and give first rate service. Cheerful, knowledgeable and helpful, I continue to be amazed at how well I'm looked after by Sophie and her colleagues - long may it continue. Interestingly, this has become noticeable in the last five years or so, since we joined in 2003. I'm afraid this is no longer obtainable in England, unless c/o private banking at great expense. Bravo Britline!

British in France should only ever consider joining Britline that are happy to support us in every possible way they can, being always bright and cheery on the phone, nothing seems to be too much for them when helping you out with a problem or query! I needed help regarding my debit card and use in Italy. I arranged a conference call with Russell , he answered my questions and recommended I change my card to improve my protection. The net result is my new card arrived before leaving for Italy. As always great personal service they always seem to go the extra mile. Having been a customer for 7 years I cannot be more happy with them as my bank.

I cannot praise my advisors highly enough. They explain things clearly, are always prompt in their responses, and are approachable and friendly. Nothing has been too much trouble: truly priceless customer care.
At this most stressful time (I've never bought a house before, and doing it in France is challenging) I know I can rely on B and S to support me.

Can't give a 0 star!
Unresponsive and lacks initiative - v basic banking service as a previous reviewer noted. Churlish support with no insight into minimum expectations. Practically? I unnecessarily lost out on hundreds of euro's due to the lack of basic support. AND they have the temerity to charge more than other banks!! Another review is due shortly-easy to put your money in but v tricky and costly to get it out!!

I have been with crédit agricole britline for more than 12 years.
Always helpful, from opening bank account in France. Moving from uk. I have received continuous support and always helpful. I cannot recommend more highly and I do to british clients who would like to own a property here, either as a second home or permanent move.

'Brit'line banking - what a joke - if the name is representative of assisting "Brits" then a lot more effort is required to help us Brits who bank with you.
My family's experience with Britline has been 7 years of ignored emails for assistance with our various Banking issues, generated because of the Britline Online app, which is of no help whatsoever, being it is populated in French with no option to translate to English.
Our experience has been stressful and frustrating, they send an email chasing up for info, we reply, then they ignore our email, and chase us up again. Come on Britline Agents, check your inbox before firing off another email!

Making inquiries by e-mail was a disaster, it took over a month for them to reply whether any local CA branches in my area would support Britline. And then, the reply was a form letter pointing me to the CA website for information. I would not recommend them.

CA Britline, Banking revue, our experience was very positive and in particular the member of staff Clym was exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable , if there was a problem or difficulty he looked for another method to resolve our enquiry, Clym certainly is an asset to both CA Britline and the Banking Sector.

Getting through to my personal adviser has always ( 20+ years) been easy and rapid. I was given as much time as I needed to explain my predicament and given prompt and appropriate advice. In my experience s Britline staff are courteous, cheerful, patient and highly professional.

Having bought a property in France, we chose Britline to provide our requirements for banking, this they have done to our complete satisfaction. Over and above this they have helped us on more than one occasion with other issues. The last few have been dealt with by Clym, who has been wonderful at explaining things that we don't understand in a way that makes it very clear and less frightening!
His life experience of living on the continent means he knows the system and can explain it to you. We can't recommend Clym and Britline highly enough

If all you want to do is write your check and pay bills they are just about up to it but beyond that their service is utterly shambolic. Days to respond to emails, so-called customer service agents with absolutely no value add whatsoever and for goodness sake if you ever do get an account don't even think about trying to transfer it to another branch. Chaotic and shambolic from start to finish. There are significantly better French banks out there.
