Back in 2004 we moved to France and opened a bank account with a bank local to us. In fairness, they did their best to be helpful but as our French wasn’t very good and neither was their English, we were often left wondering if we had understood things correctly. Our house insurance and car insurance were with a separate broker and it was the same situation there. After a few years we moved from France and closed the accounts. In 2015 we purchased a holiday home in France. We had seen CA Britline (for those who wanted an English speaking, French bank) advertised through the internet and decided because of our previous experience with French banking, to open an account with them. What a good decision this was. No more wondering if we had understood things correctly and having all our insurances and bank account under one roof has been so much easier. They are quick to respond and over the years, all of the staff that we have communicated with have been knowledgeable and courteous. More recently we have dealt with Karen Donegan, when wanting to insure a second car. Another first-class service. If you are looking at opening a bank account in France and would like to use an English speaking-banking/insurance service, then open one with CA Britline Normandy, and hopefully like us, you will be pleased you did.
Diane at Britline has been a pleasure to deal with. She helped us sort out our mutuelle contract when the Ameli website said that there was a problem with it. Many thanks Diane
The Britline staff were very friendly and efficient when dealing with my motor insurance queries, and subsequent acceptance of a policy, and also helping me with a problem I encountered setting up a new payee on my current account.

We keep receiving exemplary service from Britline - responsive, knowledgeable and helpful. In particular, Diane Ogilvie has set the bar so high that I was compelled to email her and tell her that I wished other companies held their representatives to such high standards. I feel very comfortable adding this review to an earlier one I provided that was also complimentary but more general in nature.
Kelly was very helpful and what I thought maybe a complicated issue she resolved easily and quickly.

The Adviser, Angelique Wirth, gave excellent advice, clear and informative. She was friendly and very supportive in her manner : checking my understanding of her advice and encouraging questions. Overall she made it a positive experience.
I'm English, but moved to France for my wife to be with her family (wife is French) but I struggled sooo much with the French bank my wife setup for me. All the app was in French (I don't speak French) and any problems I had, my wife needed to ring the bank, as mentioned I don't speak French. I'm now with Britline and the app is in English, super easy to use and looks really nice, and best of all my own personal bank advisor, David, is English and probably the nicest guy I've ever spoke too! All questions get answered right away! David is an absolute legend, a really top guy! I think the longest I ever waited on hold for my call to be answered was 2 minutes!! My wife spends 20 minutes waiting for her French bank advisor to answer, and he's ALWAYS rude and unhelpful, like my wife interupted him while eating his sandwhich or something "yeah what you want, why you ringing your bank". My wife now wants to bank with Britline as she likes David so much, so we're opening another account for her. She said she only wished David spoke French, to which David switched to speaking perfect French with her! I wish I could give these guys 6 stars! They deserve an extra star!!
The team at Britline are probably one of the most helpful and expert that I’ve ever dealt with. You immediately get through to an actual person with expertise to help. Both Kelly and Fran who I’ve spoken with in the past have been able to solve my issues, they’ve done things like: helped me to better understand things like the French tax system, solve technical problems with the app, sort insurances and more - this wide ranging expertise is beyond any experience I’ve had with any other bank (or any other service in general!). Plus everyone is bilingual which hugely helps. I do speak French but did not learn about French tax and bills at school! So having people to call who can be that bridge to help - not so much with the direct translation of words as that I can do - but with the implication behind unfamiliar sentences is such a benefit.
I think it’s a fairly small team at Britline and it feels like a personal service that has been through a very good user-centred design process. Even small things in the interactions and processes feel like they have been thought about and well service designed. I can’t speak highly enough of them and want to say a huge thanks - teams in other businesses could learn a lot from them :)
They were proactive and helped me to manage my French bank account from UK.
Once again, both Britline and CA Sourdeval Branch have excelled themselves to me as being unhelpful and inexperienced in customer service.
I won't bother explaining of my plight publically, though needless to say, if Britline are unable to provide the telephone number for BIPS (the international payment transfer service they actively promote) then customer service is in a truly sad state of affairs.
Don't bother engaging with me Britline, you had your chance to provide a customer service, however failed miserably.
Clym's advice was amazing. He went over and above his role to advise me about the process to receive funds from the sale of a Paris apartment. Best customer service ever!
Very helpful Customer Advisers when I closed the account (as we no longer needed it) and they transferred the closing balance to our UK bank account.
We have been so impressed with the level of service Britline at Credit Agricole. They are incredibly responsive and have been able to support us the whole way through our journey of buying our first french property. I'm looking forward to be a long term customer of theirs. There was no way we would have been able to navigate the transfer of funds and home insurance with our limited french, so its amazing the quality of their staff, their english skills and being able to support our needs.
The agent who i was assigned was Sophie Dumbleton who was excellent. Patient to explain the situation and helpful with a solution.
Helping me with the French bank transaction her English was perfect lady was very knowledgeable. She knew exactly what I needed to do guided me through it with ease. The help I was given was amazing 10 out of 10.
Being able to build a relationship with one's business manager takes all the stress out of banking in France. Our contact Jane (and the rest of the team) are amazingly helpful and patient and resolve issues very quickly but are also critically proactive and understand one's needs and requirements. We cannot recommend Jane and the team more highly.
Excellent customer service again today from Clym Cunnington. I was having difficulty accessing information on my account and Clym identified my difficulty and with clear instructions helped me step by step to help me complete what I needed to do. These services are definitely needed and a great help. Don't know what I would have done without this assistance. Thank you so much
