I have been blown away by just how good British Bird Control have been. We found them online & asked them to quote to pigeon-proof our solar panels. We rapidly received a very detailed response which gave us great confidence in both them as a Company & their high quality approach. When we then instructed them the whole process was the ultimate in professionalism & efficiency. They gave us an expected week for installation & said they would confirm 2 weeks before. Exactly 2 weeks before they confirmed which day & time that week they would be on site. They then arrived bang on time, 2 of the nicest, most professional engineers that you could wish for. They completed a superb job, kept us informed at all times & cleared up so well that our drive was tidier than before they arrived! Everything was done to the highest standards & exactly as they had promised. And all for a price that we felt was tremendous value for money. We had been expecting the quote to be double & we’re then suspicious that it was so inexpensive. But we need not have worried. In short we have never been more impressed by any company…

British Bird Control (or BBC as I like to call them) are simply the BEST company to use when dealing with Solar Panel Installations with PIGEON problems. Let me explain why:

I had 24 solar panels installed on my 'L' shaped detached house, last August (over 3 roofs, East, West and South).

The 'bird proofing' used by the solar panel installer simply wasn't working; some of the strips of plastic 'fingers' kept falling off the solar panel edges, so pigeons could get underneath the panel arrays whenever they felt like it.

Plagued by pigeons over all 3 roofs, I eventually found British Bird Control's website and contacted Dave Campbell (my regional controller), who was absolutely fantastic - he knows what he's talking about, has excellent trained staff and products that actually WORK!

Their steel cage around each of the panel groups is now completely impossible for the pigeons to get into. The job was neatly done: Mason and Shane did my installation, they were polite, accommodating and tidy. The cost was very reasonable and worth every penny.

Because the pigeons had enjoyed 6 months of easy access to my solar panels, they became habituated to using my roof as a cosy place of shelter (we appear to have loads of pigeons on my housing estate).

Although most had given up, there were still a number of pigeons 'stupid' enough to keep trying to get inside the cages; they also took to sitting on the top edge of the panel arrays, turning around and making a mess on them!

So, I got Dave's chaps back in to install spikes on top of each panel group - so now they can't sit on them and foul the panels. Again, a neat and reasonably priced solution.

Was that the end of the story? No, because a number of them still congregated near the East chimney stack at dusk - for shelter at night - then made a nuisance clattering around the roof in the morning before flying away. And then they'd come back again in the day (like a bunch of hooligans). Honestly!

That made me think I'd need to get Dave to give me another quote for pigeon netting on both the East/West roofs, with added spikes on the chimney.

**Update** But since writing this review last week, it now appears nearly all the pigeons have stopped congregating, except for a few who still wander along the top apex of the roof. So maybe I won't need pigeon netting after all. Clearly, more patience was needed on my part.

So, in summary, if you have a solar panel pigeon problem, you really need to contact Dave and his team - I am sure that they will sort you out. I couldn't recommend anyone more highly.

We would highly recommend this company, work all quoted for with no hidden extras. A complete description of the work to be done was given with the quote. Slight delay due to employees with Covid and the stormy weather, but carried out when they said very efficiently and competently by two very nice employees who explained everything they would be doing and fully carried it out. Cleaned out all the bird poo in the gutters as well and gave the solar panels a cleaning. Prompt balance payment taken when the work was completed and 10 year guarantee received. We are very satisfied customers!

After looking at several quality companies with the proper accreditations to their name and customer reviews to back that up, I decided to employ the services of British Bird Control.
I sent off for a quote and had a 5 paragraph email from Garath Purnell explaining the entire process and what work the team who would attended on the day would be doing.
After a lengthy wait due to a high volume of work and having to wait for more work to be gathered in my area, which from a business since makes total sense.
Following images of our panels and the front elevation so as the team could work out a quote from the day came when the two operatives attended and within a hour or so had removed most of the nests and the pigeon mess from off of the tiles, using our garden hose plus theirs.
The solar panel "fence" that is secured to the panels without any screws looks great.

I'm very satisfied with the work carried out on my roof.
The team were polite, efficient and punctual.
I had to leave during the work and was impressed that everything was neat and tidy upon my return, plus my side gate had been locked as requested.

This company, and especially the team which came today, have been wonderful. They didnt stop working from the time they arrived and were polite and thoughtful. All panels washed clean, gutters cleared out and everything left tidy and clean. The explanation on completion was helpful. Watching them on the roof was a bit scarey for me. I hope, and believe, that the wretched pigeons will stop roosting under the solar panels, filling the gutters with poop and nesting material and cooing from the early hours. Company communications were good and sensible explanations for delay (weather) and rearranged visit. Excellent.

British Bird Control did a great job, very professional, in putting metal frames around the sides of my solar panels and dispersing the birds that were nesting underneath the panels. The birds cannot return now. They also re-connected a down pipe on my guttering which had come apart in the recent storm.

Extremely efficient service. The fitting team did a very professional job of fitting the bird guards, leaving the solar panels, roofspace and gutters, clean from debris and detritis from the pigeons.

The work was completed with no problems, it was a tight decision to have this done as its not cheap, I was surprised when the invoice arrived with the quoted amount plus vat! It was never mentioned that the price was plus vat. Wouldn't have had it done for £540. Just be aware that if you have no nests and clean gutters you are paying a lot for services you wont need. Wish I'd shopped around a bit more, my fault.

Oh boy. So pleased I had the mesh installed. There’s a world of difference between how my patio was before (yuk) and how it is now. Have already recommended this company to a friend.

We had pigeons nesting under our solar panels, and had a few quotes to get them bird proofed, but some companies wanted to use scaffold at great cost and screw into the frames, which risks damaging the actual solar panels. British Bird Control provided a competitive quote, very promptly with no scaffold and a 10 year warranty. The original planned date did slip due to weather, but on the revised date the team arrived promptly and were very friendly and efficient. They fully explained afterwards what they had found. After 2 weeks we still get a few pigeons looking all round the panels but they can't get under them, so don't stay very long, and I'm hoping they will give up completely soon.

British Bird Control is a company subsiduary of Pest Professionals which in turn is part of Cimex Lectularius Ltd. this does not make checking up on them for their registration with BPCA (British Pest Control Association) very easy. Nevertheless, I can recommend them for their professional approach to the work. the operatives we had were polite, helpful and cleaned up after the work.
The company administration staff were also found to be helpful and polite.

We had a real problem with pigeons nesting under our solar panels. There was a lot of guano and other mess, coupled with the solar panels becoming inefficient due to the amount of guano, so it needed dealing with. British Bird Control were very efficient, friendly and easy to deal with all the way along the process, including the team that came to do the work. Really pleased with the outcome, no more nesting and no more mess. We thought the price charged was fair and reasonable too.

I wanted to do things right and contacted British Bird Control based on their ethics and their awards. Weather got in the way and my project was delayed on a few occasions, never-the-less, the regional manager kept in constant contact via email text and phone calls. He kept re-assigning new dates and having his team stop by the house to check at every good weather opportunity. His teams were always on time and a pleasure to meet. The work was completed last week and my pigeon invasion problem has almost completely vanished. I do see the odd pigeon returning to my solar panels for a look round, but they can no longer get in. My gutters are clear and the front yard is dropping-free ( I used to have to rinse it down every day)

As is clearly the norm for reviews of BBC I have nothing but positive comments for the service they have provided… I moved into a house with 12 panels and didn’t think anything of the few pigeons I saw on the roof… until lying in my bed and hearing coo-ing and warbling through the night. Out of panic i did the obligatory Google research the following morning and identified a couple of companies - BBC that use strong mesh and another using softer chicken-wire type construction. I decided to go with BBC and asked them to use the smaller 25mm mesh which didn’t cost much more. The team came and were very polite, explained what would be done and then did it very efficiently.

The result? My first night sleeping in my bed and not hearing a single pigeon coo-ing. There was a little scuffling at one stage but the team did mention that the birds would hang around for up to 2 weeks trying to beat my new defences!

I’d recommend the service provided by BBC to anyone.

Over the last 3 years we have had problems with pigeons nesting under our solar panels. In the last 18 months we experienced greater problems due to having up to 10 large nests under the solar panels. If it rained it washed nesting materials and pigeon poop until it filled the guttering. In the dry sunny periods, the nesting materials broke loose and dried pigeon poop fell off the roof causing a mess on the patio. I realised that the only solution would be to have pigeon proof netting fitted around the solar panels.

In October 2021 I sent requests to two large companies who installed netting around solar panels. My request included a specification on what I was looking for and some photos of the nests, and the state of the gutters.

I compared the two quotes and chose British Bird Control because they provided me with a very detailed description of the affect pigeon’s nesting under the solar panels is having on our roof and the hygiene issues we could get. Gareth, the managing director described how they carry out a typical netting installation. He described the type of netting they use and sent some photos of actual installations on domestic and commercial properties.

I contacted Gareth to clarify some of the points, he answered them to my satisfaction. Gareth provided me with a quote which was acceptable to me. I should also mention that you get a 10-year guarantee. I paid the 25% deposit and was advised it would be 3 weeks before they could book the job in, they did advise that it could change due adverse weather conditions or staffing levels.

I received an email on 27th October from Dawn who works in the office, to confirm they planned to install w/c 15th November. Due to bad weather where I live, they could not fit it in that week. Dave (operations manager) phoned me on Wednesday 23rd November informing us they could carry out the installation on Friday 26th November starting at approx, midday. I agreed to the date. This would be subject to the weather conditions on the day.

On 26th November we had rain showers in the morning, which changed into wind, sun, and showers. At about 12:00 I contacted the head office; they spoke to Dave. He phoned and confirmed that Michael and Paul had signed off the job they had been working on. He contacted Michael and asked him to phone me to say what time they would be with me. Within 5 minutes I had a call from Michael to say they were only 10 minutes away.

They arrived and introduced themselves We went to the rear of the house. Michael told me in what order he would be doing the work. He could see no problems. They started to get the materials ready. The netting was cut to size on site. They didn’t waste any time. I could see that Michael and Paul worked as an experienced team. They didn't make much mess and what little there was, was cleared away. The showers kept away so they managed to finish the work in good time.

Michael and I inspected the work visually from our patio. He reminded me that I would get a 10-year warranty certificate sent to us once the balance had been paid. I signed the job off and the balance was charged to my card at the beginning of the next week. This triggered an email which had the invoice and 10-year guarantee certificate attached.

The effect of having the netting around our solar panels made almost an instant change, within 1 to 2 days the majority of the pigeons had moved on. The pigeon feathers and mess have stopped completely, there is no noise in the loft.

We would recommend British Bird Control to anyone who has a similar pigeon problem as us over the last 3 years.

After seeing my neighbours solar panel's getting wired around to stop the nightmare of the Pigeons nesting under them, i called to ask for information on what they offered, I was impressed with the price and with the fact that the work comes with ten year guarantee which is fantastic for home owners, so i booked in. On the first date that the men came to do it was cancelled as the winds were very strong and their ladder was swaying in the wind so job was aborted and waited for a call from British Bird control to set a new date and straight away i got a call to say that it would be a few days later, phew i really couldn't wait for this to be done. So on Tuesday 2nd November 2021 morning a team of two young men turned up at my home but on the way here they telephoned to say they would be with me shortly. Now i was praying that the weather held off any rain as i didnt want to have to wait again.
Within half an hour a young man knocked on my door and introduced himself as Reece and explained the whole procedure to me. I was asked to stay indoors once they started the work and would knock to inform me when they had finished. They were at my home for around an hour and when the job was done as promised he knocked and said it was all done he then went on to show me the pictures of what they had done on his iPad as obviously i couldn't see all the work around the top and sides of the panels. I was very impressed with the work it was neat and not one bit of mess was left in my garden everything was perfect and the explanation of what would happen over the coming days with the birds was amazing to be honest. they would still try to get under the wire and in all fairness they were running around the outside of the panels trying everything to get back in but to no avail. They would eventually realise that they will not get back in and then they will fly off and roost on someone else's roof. Tonight it was like heaven going to bed and not to hear the cooing of these pigeons was a dream come true for me. I really can not thank Reece and his work colleague enough for the hard work they put in today i am over the moon to say the very least.
I would highly recommend British Bird Control for your pigeon problems a price that wont break the bank and a ten year guarantee what is there not to love about this, honestly can not praise them enough.
