Christmas Eve Move
Due to a last minute sale I had to arrange a move in the few days before Christmas. Britannia came up trumps & the move went very smoothly with packing on 23 December & the actual move on Christmas Eve. Many thanks for a first class service.

Absolutely amazing
Absolutely amazing, Carla and her husband Cosomo were so helpful, nothing was ever too much trouble and I moved from a third floor flat to a third floor !!! So caring and they were with me for three days, it was an amazing experience when it could have been dreadful!! Please thank them and Britannia.

All the team were so friendly and helpful, professional and efficient. Taking all the stress out of our move. Their “pack and wrap” service was particularly helpful.
Very neat and tidy. Covered the carpets and stairs with “cling film“ ensuring the house was kept neat and tidy.

I chose Britannia Fleet to move my items from the UK to Germany
I chose Britannia Fleet to move my personal belongings from the UK to Germany, and the experience has been extremely stressful, unclear, and costly. I was always open and transparent about my situation: my goods were stored in the UK while I was living and working in Malawi, and I moved directly from Malawi to Germany. At no point was I warned that German customs would refuse duty-free entry because my belongings were not physically in my country of residence immediately before relocation.
Had I been given correct advice, I could easily have flown via the UK or arranged for my goods to come directly from Malawi, avoiding this entire issue. Instead, I received no guidance about the risk of duty and taxes, no explanation of the customs implications, and no support in preparing the correct paperwork. I was also never informed that additional charges might apply.
As a result, I have now been told I must pay around €600 in duty/taxes and €750 for redelivery — costs I was not prepared for and not responsible for creating. The communication has been inconsistent, last-minute, and lacking in transparency, with constantly shifting explanations and unexpected invoices. This has left me without my household goods for months and facing significant extra payments despite already paying the full quoted relocation fee.
This company has not provided the professional clarity or support expected from an international moving service, and I cannot recommend them based on my experience.
Also, SO many items stolen which can never be replaced. Do not trust this company.

We are sorry to receive your negative review and offer you our sincere apologies for being disappointed with the service provided by Britannia Fleets. Having investigated the issues raised in your review with the operational branch, I can confirm the following:
You contracted Britannia Fleets to collect your consignment from Roy Jacks Self Store for onward shipment to Germany. Your goods had been stored at Roy Jacks since August 2023 while you resided in Malawi until your relocation to Germany in June 2025 where you wanted your goods to join you.
Collection of your consignment from Roy Jacks took place on 08/07/25 and was held in their depot while they awaited the required customs documentation. Throughout this time, you were informed that our agent was exploring options to achieve duty-free clearance. On 22/07/25, our agent advised that duty-free clearance appeared possible, and this was relayed to you, with delivery in Germany scheduled for 08/09/25.
On 02/09/25 the T1 documents were submitted to our German agent/customs. However, the customs office elected to carry out a physical inspection, which Britannia Fleets promptly informed you of the associated charges. As per the exclusions in your booking documentation, additional charges such as customs inspections and import duties are not included within our quotations.
On 04/09/25 our German agent confirmed that following a closer review, German Customs had ruled that taxes and duties would apply. This was communicated to you immediately with further correspondence detailing customs reasons for their ruling and the charges due.
On 08/09/25 your consignment was delivered into our agents warehouse in Hesenkamp. Unfortunately, there was then a delay in customs clearance due to you not providing approval for them to proceed. Clearance authorization was not given until 08/10/25. The clearance and inspection were completed on 27/10/25, after which our agent arranged delivery to your residence on 30/10/25.
On 30/10/25 delivery was completed and you had reported that the team had done “a brilliant job”.
Prior to your review, neither Britannia Fleets nor our German agent had been notified of your missing Christmas decorations. We are sorry that you are unable to find your Christmas decorations, however we can confirm that everything collected from the self-store facility was delivered to your new property in Germany as confirmed on the signed delivery documentation. We hope that your missing Christmas decorations are found once things have settled in your new home.
We are genuinely sorry that you were not fully satisfied with the service provided. At Britannia, we are committed to delivering a high standard of service and take all feedback seriously as part of our continuous improvement.

Just like to say they were so professional in doing there job, took care in moving wooden furniture,and even covered furniture that needed covering. Could not fault anything. They had challenges regarding parking but with my help they managed to handle it.

Excellent, efficient company. For me, the branch was located in Exeter. The movers did a good job, came well prepared and were very friendly. The furniture was moved and returned safely. The contact with the company was very good. I was kept in the loop at all times by email and phone and they took the trouble to confirm everything in writing, so dates were clearly established. If I needed to email them, the response was fast. I would definitely use this company again.

First of all Amanda and Bill was extremely helpful patient and cooperative given our ever-changing completion date !
When our move started Anthony Darren and Jason arrived to start packing and loading the trucks. They were very respectful & courteous and then for the next 3 days everything went so smoothly especially when we arrived at our new home and they unloaded carefully, placed furniture where we wanted it etc. Always cheerful and smiling. The whole experience was spot on and first class. Thank you everyone from Jack and Nicolette Glee. We couldn't have done it without you. !!!!!
