I recently had the opportunity to work with Belinda at Boost Learning on two critical phases of building and evolving my team, and the impact has been substantial.
In the first phase, focused on building the team, we started with a deep functional analysis and translated that into a clear vision for the team as a whole. This covered roles, levels, risks, constraints, processes (both internal and external), as well as the required technologies and technical capabilities. With this framework in place, I was able to clearly define the roles the business truly needed.
It’s important to highlight that this work took place in the context of AI & Data Science Research, an inherently complex, fast-evolving, and often ambiguous domain. Belinda demonstrated an exceptional ability to navigate this complexity and bring clarity, structure, and direction where it’s most needed.
Belinda consistently went above and beyond expectations, supporting process mapping, refining the interview process, and helping design an extremely effective onboarding program. This enabled new team members not only to integrate quickly but also to start contributing meaningful value early on.
In the second phase, we focused on building what I would call a “dream team.” A key principle was designing the processing and mindset where in the team, each one support each another by default, not only under pressure, but as part of how the team naturally operates day to day. Each team member owns their own slice of work, with clear accountability and autonomy, while still being deeply connected to the broader team’s success. This allows me to focus on mentoring and leading the team, rather than micro-managing, and creates an environment where people proactively step in for each other, continuously improve, have a growth mindset and stay aligned with business value and OKRs.
Beyond the tangible outcomes, what truly sets Belinda apart is how she shows up as a coach and a leader. She is incredibly inspiring, consistently encouraging you to think bigger, push your limits, and grow. Through our work together, I’ve developed stronger clarity in my leadership approach and a more intentional way of building and leading teams.

I went into my coaching sessions with few expectations and just a handful of queries. However, within a short time with Belinda, who has an excellent ability to listen, ask probing questions and share her wealth of in company experience, I came out with a greater sense of clarity, confidence and rejuvenated energy for my role as Cofounder at Mossy Earth, a 7 year old start up. The sessions also brought to light a number of issues to resolve and paths to pursue, in the workplace, which in time will further help my development as a leader.

In addition to the online meetings with Belinda, I’d receive a recording of each conversation coupled with a shortlist of things to reflect on when listening back. This was hugely useful and enabled me to percolate on what was discussed and prime me for our following session.

Belinda is a really warm person full of empathy and compassion. I spoke with her after I lost a job prior to Covid. Lockdown and subsequent hiring freezes made it difficult to find a new role.
