We have just returned home, after a new year celebration at Todenham farmhouse. It was absolutely fabulous, from the welcome pack, the rooms, the heating, the cleanliness, communication and even the the farm shop next door and fantastic cafe! Don’t hesitate to book it you won’t be disappointed!

Really great experience with them - fully equiped house, just like the images. Full of guides and super helpful throughout the whole stay. Karen was amazing!

What a great place!
Vicky is an excellent host with a lovely cake and goodies on arrival.
The fire is a nice touch too. So quiet with walks into the forest on your doorstep.
Nice and quiet with a little pub for a few drinks with the locals.
Will definitely be back.

Bolthole was wonderful about communication and clear directions, but there were some issues with our unit, itself. The television is outdated and was 100% non usable. This was unfortunate during 4PM sunsets. It would have been uncomfortable for 6 people. The unit was well appointed, however there were some odd things missing, such as hangers and nowhere to hang coats. I would definitely use Bolthole again, but stay in a different property.

Nice, well appointed property in a beautiful village. Good access to a number of tourist destinations.

Lovely property, clean, extremely well equipped & furnished to a high standard. Great for a family Christmas. Great communication with Bolthole & property manager. Would highly recommend & visit again.

Beautiful cottage in a great location

We all loved the house and its location and of course the pub next door. The layout of the house worked for us but it does need a few things doing. The tap in the kitchen was very loose and dripping a lot of the time - the pots and pans and other kitchen stuff need replacing as they really have seen better days and in some of the bathrooms there is nowhere to put things down. On arrival the house looked clean but as one of our guests has sensitivity to dust we soon discovered that a deep clean would have been welcomed - under the furniture etc which was very dusty. And finally we had been told by email we could arrive at 12 but the cleaners were still there as they had’t been told. So overall a great house which needs more attention to those issues mentioned above

Property Name: The Weir House

Wow! We booked the property over the Christmas period! I am struggling to find the words about how magical and beautiful it was.

The setting was absolutely beautiful with river views and next to the fabulous Saracens Head pub which we had a lovely meal at on arrival day.

The property itself has been renovated to an exceptional level. Spotlessly clean, Christmas decorations up, every piece of cookware or serve ware you will need, comfortable beds-they have literally thought of everything!!!

Whilst it was on the higher end of what we would normally pay, we also felt it was totally worth the price.

The only downside was having to leave and go back to reality. We will most definitely be back!!

EXCEPTIONAL STAY

I cannot reccomend the Long Barn enough.

Its immaculate, extremely spacious yet has a cozy feel.
We had the most wonderful Christmas stay in a beautiful setting.
The owners were brilliant, nothing felt to much trouble and you can reach out if you need anything.
I appreciated the fluffy towels and beautiful linen.
its a true gem.

Pineapple spa cottage is an amazing cottage, all the extra bits added to the break, we we’re welcomed into a warm homely place at Xmas and felt home from home

Fantastic quirky and well appointed place, big enough for six adults, a three year old and a baby. Beautiful surroundings with an iconic pub nearby. We were lucky with the weather, but if it’s raining you’re cosy inside with a great fireplace and plenty of room for everyone.

We stayed at the old laundry in Winchcombe on 14th December 2025. It was a special birthday for a family member. She had no idea where she was staying and the house did not disappoint. Beautifully decorated, clean and nothing was left wanting. Location excellent literally 10 mins to sudeley castle and some lovely dog friendly pubs. Would highly recommend.

We had a lovely two night stay in this cottage last weekend. We took the family away for a little Christmas treat. The cottage itself was perfect Cotswolds. We were 3 doors away from the local Swan Inn which worked out well for a pre-dinner drink with cards and Sunday lunch. Housekeeping allowed us to go in earlier than the usual 4 pm due to my husband recently being discharged from an A&E admission which was very very kind of them so thank you. Just a couple of very small comments one being we could’ve done with some more wood for the wood burner, especially in winter and the second one was that the kitchen floor wasn’t as clean as it should have been when we arrived. It may have been a factor of us going in a little earlier than usual. All in all a lovely trip with some country walks. Beautiful.

Me and my guest had a festive weekend at Six Penny Cottage. It was absolutely gorgeous; the house itself looked even better in person than the photos on the website. The kitchen was amazing, nice and big and equipped with every utensil you could possibly need. The decor and mixture of French antique farmhouse with the bright vibrant colours made if feel warm and cosy. This paired with the stunning fireplace with Wood burner made the chilled evenings a pleasure to sit around with a glass of wine.
The location and the views of the Cotswold's were stunning.
Bedrooms with equally as attractive as the rest of the house. Beds were super comfortable; we stayed in bedroom one which was amazing and highly recommend if you get the option to choose.
Rosie the housekeeper was amazing and very attentive with any help or local information you may need.
This gets a straight 10/10 well done Bolthole Retreats, we'll definitely be booking with you again!
