Bold Bean Co Anmeldelser

I've been disgruntled with the quality and price of meat the last few years and really starting to dislike meat being the center piece of a meal. My toddler loves baked beans and is picky with mostly everything else, so i thought lets try making bean recipes and stumbled upon bold bean whilst on the bean research adventure. Also discovered how great beans are for us on this journey. Somehow i discovered bold bean, probably combination of reddit, AI, googling etc. So my first test was just picking up a jar of bold beans from the supermarket, i think i followed a bold bean recipe, then i tried the tins and a non bold bean recipe the next time, the difference was night and day - the tinned beans were undercooked, small, lacked the depth of flavour, minus the useful stock. Bold beans are miles better than the cheap tins from supermarkets. It's true that you could simply eat them from the jar and not bat an eyelid, they're very good as is from the jar. The stock is also very useful. I've tried about 5 recipes from the website so far and all of them have been great. It's very hard to find good recipes, and it's really annoying following a recipe and it turns out to be not very nice or mediocre, their recipes are very good, balanced, interesting flavour. I was initially thinking nearly 3-4 times more expensive than the tins doesn't make sense, but the difference is night and day. Also found on the website that there's a loyalty program, which is quite generous, up to 25% off, depending on how much you've spent cumulatively.

Toddler is being less picky with the bold bean recipes, which is surprising as they're challenging his palette. Guess the lad loves beans. It's good that meat consumption has dropped, we might only be having meat a few times a week. So saving money for sure, and actually enjoying our mealtimes more to be honest, combination between the quality of the beans, paired with the recipes (that look to have been tested, rather than just fired up). Recipes are very fast as the beans are good to go pretty much. If im having meat, i just fire it in the oven, a full roast chicken for example and have it as a side dish.

One criticism so far, we didn't like the baked beans in tomato sauce, tasted too healthy if that makes sense, no depth to the flavour - it just wasn't our cup of tea. So will probably just follow one of the recipes to make baked beans in tomato sauce next time from the website.

So all in all excellent. I would recommend this company. I would advise to continue adding quality tested recipes, as they make a big difference. I'll mostly be buying from their website in bulk.

For anyone that has got this far, i use recipe keeper to import the bold bean recipes, it lets you create a shopping list, plan ahead etc. Worth knowing about if you like to optimize your shopping.

Well done for making an outstanding line of products and very smart to add a loyalty program paired with recipes that actually taste great.

It would be nice to have a way on the website to sort recipes by review, so highest rated goes to the top.

Another delivery arrived yesterday of my favourite ever smoked chilli baked beans. They are absolutely delicious! I love all your beans and I love that they come in bean stock . Keep up the good work xx

Soooo salty. Why? We could add more salt if we wanted. Good quality beans , but why so salty?

I have a subscription for the white beans. The problem is in their ads the stock is liquid but unfortunately every jar I gave opened the stock is jelly and I can't get the beans out with them turning to mush. It's an expensive subscription for mashed beans.

I literally can't eat any other branded bean now. Bold beans absolutely smashes any other company. The price is definitely steep but so worth it. Turned a few people onto them now and they all hate me because they too can no longer eat inferior beans.

Bought the best sellers pack, which they call 'six of the best beans', after seeing a review of, I think butter beans, in the Guardian Feast supplement.
Only tried the Black Beans and Red Kidney Beans so far, but have to say they are a disappointment, mainly because the beans in the bottom half of the jar are impossible to get out as they are compressed into a solid mass. So the only way to remove them from the jar is by scraping them out in a congealed 'mush'. Not such a good start.

My partner bought me some of the plain sauce beans which I was not to impressed with, especially for the price and I told her not to get anymore. But a week later she got me the chilli beans. WOW game changer. Sourdough toast butter and chilli beans with egg on top and I am in heaven. We could not find the masala beans in any shop so I ordered off the site which, with the postage made expensive beans even more expensive. I really hoped for high quality and big flavours but was disappointed . They were nice but not that nice for such a high price. Unless I see them in a shop cheaper i will be giving them a miss. But I will keep the chilli ones as a treat

I love bold bean co!
They’re great beans and the packaging is just amazing. It’s just one cardboard box but each jar is secure and protected!
Bean co you’re awesome!

Excellent, delicious products as others have said but also something that never happens during these days if "shrinkflation", my favourite product has increased in size! The smoky chilli baked beans now come in a 390gm jar instead of a 325gm jar at no additional cost. I assume that the same has happened to other products.

Whilst the products are great, it seems the delivery price for subscribers is quite excessive. And very very slow to dispatch. I guess it’s probably time to cancel a subscription and look for an alternative.

Probably the best beans I've ever had!

All these years, buying cheap tinned beans, you just naturally assume that that's the best they can get. I was so wrong!

I sometime get dry beans at home and slow cook them myself, which is much better than tinned beans. But I don't always remember to have them handy or prepare them in advance. So for something handy and quick to access, Bold Bean is another level compared to the other supermarket equivalents.

Yes, they cost more. A lot more. But there are times where you get what you pay for. And when it comes to the battle of cheap tinned beans vs Bold Beans, the result is pretty evident.

I've been ordering from Bold Beans for the last 2.5 years. Fantastic quality products across the range. Their packaging has clearly been thought-through, balancing eco friendliness with being sturdy enough to hold heavy yet fragile items (their glass jars come in sturdy card board, with compostable cornstarch pellets which dissolve in water around the box). Great to see they're now an Ethical Consumer 'Best Buy'. Brilliant company, that have high standards for both quality and doing the right thing

We have eaten the butter beans and they are next level compared to the tinned variety. So delicious you can eat them cold straight from the jar. We used a recipe from the website which includes asparagus, artichoke, olives, dill, parsley and a lemon and honey dressing. Everyone we have given it to loves it.
Going to try the chickpeas next.

I really want to like them but the jars are insanely difficult to open and I am not a weakling!

Just bought these from Sainsbury's on a deal. They are so good. Riverford recipes use them with good reason.

Superb beans. A winner every time. Even converted me to like baked beans. Great company, great ethics. Cannot recommend more highly.

My review is about the Bold Bean Cook Book. I can honestly say that every recipe I have made from this book has been absolutely delicious.I keep thinking that they can’t get any better but tonight I cooked Spicy red pepper and chickpea stew. It’s on page 99 - un-assuming with no photo.
Well - it was out of this world. A deep rich slightly spicy flavour. Just absolute yumminess in a Bean obsessed bowl. Topped with yoghurt, lemon juice, toasted almonds and parsley. I could have licked the bowl.
I started with recipes on the website, using tinned beans. But since converting to Bold Beans - well, there is no comparison. Bold Beans are simply the best!

I’ve been a customer of bold bean co for years. I am completely obsessed with them. Have tested recipes and trial beans for them (not affiliated or paid at all, this is an honest ad). Every new product they launch, I’ll buy. Their products are like nothing I’ve ever tasted from a supermarket shelf (although they now supply to supermarkets!) and I easily use one jar a day. Their jars are huge so they are more pricier than tins of beans but once taste them you will absolutely be happy to pay. Literally the best company I have ever bought from-and I am fussy! go subscribe!
