Black Tomato planned our trip to Bhutan this fall. Camilla was amazing to work with, paying attention to our needs and wishes and planned the most splendid vacation!
The hotels were amazing, our guide and driver were extremely knowledgeable and our itinerary was packed with breathtaking vistas and activities. It was the trip of our dreams. While this was my first trip with BT, it most certainly won’t be my last!

Peru Trip was Over The Top FUN! Why?

Peru is so much more than Machu Picchu (although MP is a must-see, must do, on your trip).

Black Tomato introduced my girlfriend and me to an immersive experience in Peru.Our first trip to Peru included travel through Lima and Cusco and communities in between. Peru offered Sea & City (Lima) and Rivers, Lakes & Mountains (Cusco), and Black Tomato set up an immersive itinerary that ensured a broad and rich set of unique activities and experiences each day. No day was the same!!!

If you're a foodie like us then you will not be disappointed. Rich cuisine from world class restaurants (e.g. Central) to amazing dishes made by local restaurants. Black Tomato ensured we had access to amazing places to eat each day. We made cocktails in different locations, tried local foods made of corn, beautiful vegetables, potatoes, chocolate, fresh fish and many others local ingredients. We also tried guinea pig....it tastes like...a small pig (very good). Peru is a farmer's market on a massive scale!!! You can be a happy vegan in Peru if want to as well.

Are you active? Peru will more satisfy you in every way. We traveled via sail boat, horse back, mountain bike, hiking, kayaking, walking, trains, and helicopter (we also saw para-gliders). You may not do all of these modes of transportation but if you want to, Black Tomato ensures you have access to them all. We had incredible guides/pilots who were very experienced, very safe and enjoyable to work with each day.

Is it safe? Safe in every way with happy, welcoming people and culture. I've traveled to Japan and Peru is comparable in terms of a safe environment and how nice the local people are, regardless of whether you are in a large city like Lima or a smaller town like Cusco. Great People!

Are the Guides good? Simply put, Black Tomato ensured we had the best guides. Fluent in English/Spanish and extremely knowledgeable. Our lead guide ensured we saw/experienced as much each day as possible. And our guide always made sure to check to see if we were enjoying ourselves, if we wanted to change our itinerary, were we hunger/thirsty/tired etc. First Class Guides and very attentive. Guides in Peru actually attend college to be a guide! They care and they are very knowledgeable. Black Tomato, in my opinion, is exceptional at finding and working with the premier local guides and this sets them apart from other companies. We were important to our guide(s) everyday.

Peru is a MUST. We saw people from all over the world in Peru which should tell you a lot. It is an amazing, must-see, destination. If you love to be active, love food, love history, love the city, love the outdoors, love travel...then you must go to Peru. Black Tomato hit it out of the park on this trip!!!

Trip was planned just for me, and it was perfect and seamless. I've never had such a good time! I'd been to London several times before , but experienced it in more depth with Black Tomato. I plan to use them again and again!

The best travel agency I have ever used. The details were covered from start to finish which resulted in a carefree and amazing trip!

Recently my family took a trip to Toronto and Niagara with black tomato, it was overall a very average experience - something an individual can easily book him/herself with 1/3 the cost.
- Agent missed the fact St Lawrence market doesn’t open the day they arranged us to go (not acceptable)
- The drive time was miss calculated so we missed the cruise in Toronto after driving back from Niagara on the lake back to Toronto
- Details are missed, never got the travel packet agent said will be in our hotel room after check in; we requested fresh fruits for my parents but were not arranged
- We took the trip to celebrate my dad recover from cancer and surprisingly there was zero extra from the agent not even a congratulations in the hotel room
- The day we arrived there was a big Caribbean festival in the city but was never mentioned to us so we missed it
- Costs are on par with top operators but quality isn’t so not worth your money in general. There are better value service out there

Oh boy how disappointed we are - there is little attention to details

We had the best experience in Corsica thanks to Sunil at Black Tomato! He listened to exactly what we had in mind and planned our trip perfectly down to the fantastic dinner reservations each night! We will absolutely use Black Tomato again! It was the perfect honeymoon and all we had to do was show up where Sunil planned us to be without thinking about the planning!

Cuba - we used Rob O"Leary/Black Tomato for the first time to arrange a trip to Cuba earlier this year. We were a bit nervous about going to Cuba, even though we are seasoned travellers. We were totally reassured by Rob's knowledge of the country (and, in particular, its visa eccentricities) and the great staff they have on the ground. They excelled in finding us good quality, authentic accommodation, so we felt more immersed in the lifestyle and culture of Cuba. The restaurant recommendations were superb and the local staff on the ground were exceptional. I would happily recommend them.

Rob O'leary at Black Tomato made the planning process for our honeymoon a very pleasurable one. His patience and true customer service skills led to my wife and I having an unforgettable French Polynesian honeymoon. Not only will we be using Black Tomato again for any future travels but I strongly urge anyone who is travelling to work with Black Tomato.

Black Tomato are exceptional at what they do. They are good listeners and deliver ideas you could not have dreamt about

I have used them for more than 10 years, on the corporate front as well as extensive travelling throughout the world.

From arranging a skiing holday to Whistler in Canada which coincided with the Winter Olypmpics, to get accommodation alone was a feat but also deliver on our wish to get tickets to the Opening Ceremony, some achievement.

From South Africa game lodges offering excellent accommodation and cuisine but most importantly limited numbers in the vehicle you travel in to see the game knowing that this is best way for their clients to maximise their experience is how BT think. Add on white shark cage diving, paragliding in CapeTown and single seat performance car racing...... an amazing holiday experience.

We've travelled with BT to see the gorillas in Rwanda, which is amongst the most amazing things we've done, a tour of Japan combined with Bali, an amazing trip around Sri Lanka including staying on a tea plantation high up in the mountains. A late thought, whilst in country, was a float plane trip back to Colombo... not a problem.

We have enjoyed many other trips with BT, with future trips to Australia, Chile and Argentina as well as a holiday to Egypt, including a Nile cruise. From visiting sites and places at times when the general public have no access to avoid crowds, seeing sites that only a well connected agency can arrange are reflective of the detail BT go to.

Of interest to potential clients of BT is that their local in-country agency partners are clearly subject to rigorous selection criteria, the standard of guides / drivers used being very high. On a BT tour you'll never be subjected to a visit to a souk, bazar, cheap precious stone retailers etc... unless you request!!

I cannot recommend Black Tomato more highly, they deliver consistently at a very high level, no mean achievement.

We've just returned from a most incredible Swiss vacation arranged in every part by Black Tomato. We enjoyed so many experiences across the country literally and completely enjoyed hikes, boat rides, intimate local dinners, experiences, and heli tours. I would recommend their service without reservation to family and friends.

Overall a great experience. I used the company's services to celebrate our 30th Anniversary on the Amalfi Coast. The choice of itinerary items, accommodations were top notch. Had a few bumps in terms of handoffs from one guide to another and would have liked a bit more personal interaction with BT reps beforehand (during the planning process) to ensure a flawless adventure. Not opposed to using BT in the future.

Black Tomato organised an incredible trip to Iceland for my husband and I. Was genuinely the best vacation we have taken. Attention to detail in the planning process was so good (for two people that usually plan every detail of their own trips) and we LOVED that they found some brilliant ways to surprise us on the trip. The secret experience arranged to see the inside of the dormant volcano is something we will never forget as well as the helicopter ride to explore the interior of the north of the island. From the guides to the hotel recommendations and little service touches - it was all perfect. Huge thanks to Oliver and his team for sorting this. Highly recommend! We are already planning our next trip with them!!
