Friendly staff, cold eggs Benedict, in fact the hollandaise sauce was more chilled than cold. I actually googled to see if it was supposed to be chilled! The restaurant was in Covent Garden.

⚠️ BE AWARE
⚠️ BE AWARE – POSSIBLE FOOD POISONING FROM EXPIRED FOOD ⚠️
I ordered the sea bass today and unfortunately the food appeared to be expired. After raising my concerns, I was informed by a member of staff that the fish had been supplied by a third-party provider.
this is not an acceptable explanation. Regardless of where the food was sourced, the restaurant is responsible for ensuring that all food served to customers is safe, fresh, and fit for consumption.
Food safety should always be a top priority, and customers should not be put at risk of food poisoning.
I hope the matter is investigated properly and that appropriate measures are taken to prevent this from happening to others
Avoid – Better Restaurants All Around Westfield
We chose Bill's at Westfield White City over several other popular restaurants nearby because of the excellent reviews. Unfortunately, our experience was incredibly disappointing.
Despite the restaurant not being particularly busy, we were left waiting over 25 minutes for our food. This was especially frustrating as we had our 10-month-old baby with us, making the delay even more difficult to manage.
Our server, Bethari, appeared uninterested throughout our visit and came across as rude on several occasions. We never felt welcomed or valued as customers.
When the food finally arrived, it certainly wasn't worth the wait. The £29 steak was tiny, bland and lacked any real flavour. Flat Iron next door was offering steak for almost half the price, but we chose Bill's expecting a higher-quality meal. Unfortunately, the steak was nowhere near worth the premium. The portion of fries served alongside it was shockingly small – I've genuinely had larger portions from fast-food restaurants.
The burger was similarly disappointing. It was priced not far off what you'd pay at Five Guys, yet it was substantially smaller and came with very few fries. After spending over £67 between my wife and me, we were both still hungry when we left.
To make matters worse, when we asked for the bill, we were left waiting another 15 minutes. Bethari told us she needed to clear our table first, which would have been understandable, except she disappeared halfway through and never returned. By this point our young daughter was becoming restless, and we actually had to go looking for our Bethari ourselves.
Overall, this was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences we've had in a long time. The food was extremely overpriced, the service was diabolical, and the taste was nothing more than average. Given the number of positive reviews, I was expecting so much more.
Needless to say, we won't be returning.
What on earth has happened to Bills quality, taste and value for money?
Been coming to Bills in Lewes for over 25 years. It’s always been a memorable treat. The selling points have always been quality, flavour and value for money. I headed there tonight for the first time in a while and it was fairly empty which surprised me for a sunny Saturday evening. I tried the chicken katsu as it’s a favourite at another restaurant. Such a disappointment. The chicken was plentiful but seemed dry mundane and tasteless, like cheap frozen processed chicken schnitzel. The Katsu sauce was a very small amount and again tastless there wasn’t enough to even moisten the chicken. It was served with some very ordinary cheap rice and a small amount of pickle. All in all it no longer seems a quality, tasty or value for money option compared with its competitors. The staff were nice but seemed to be trying to hurry us along and repeatedly pushing drinks. The waiter asked if we’d finished when we were clearly still eating. I’m only reviewing this honestly and bluntly because I’ve always loved this place and I don’t want to see it go under through losing the very reasons to go and an inability to provide the same value for money as it’s competitors.
Bills Southampton
We came to bills in Southampton, the service was shocking we had to ask three separate waiters for our dessert menus. One of our meals came out stone cold. The drinks weren’t bad just very overpriced. Wouldn’t come back.
Great service
Tasty burger and sweet potato fries ordered to takeaway from Bill's Newbury.
Arrived in a timely manner, great service.
Very good food ❤️
Lovely brunch at Bills Lewes!

I visited this restaurant with my…
I visited this restaurant with my girlfriend and, from the start I asked whether they served halal meat. The waiter responded that they did not, which I accepted without issue. However, I did feel that the question was met with an unusual reaction, as it seemed to draw attention from other staff.
At the end of the meal, we ordered a dessert to share. When I broke the wafer it in half and gave half to my girlfriend, she immediately commented that it had a very unpleasant smell(A..s). I then checked it myself and found the odour to be extremely offensive and concerning.
I raised this with the waiter, who said he could not smell anything unusual. Instead of addressing the issue directly, he offered me a double espresso, which did not feel like an appropriate response (guilty) to what we had just experienced, shocking!
We left the restaurant feeling uncomfortable and disturb disturbed! We were polite leaving, kind and friendly. After returning home, I remained deeply unsettled by the experience and found it difficult to sleep (haven’t slept at all , writing this now ),due to how distressing and concerning it had been.
I believe customers should be able to ask about dietary preferences without feeling uncomfortable, and any issues with food quality should be taken seriously and handled professionally. Unfortunately, this experience fell well below those expectations(evil).
Bills food is cold.
Bills Canterbury served up stone cold eggs Benedict with a congealed sauce. I mentioned it to the waiter when he asked me if everything was ok, but I ate because I was starving and didn’t have time to wait for another 20 mins. We got a pot of tea knocked off the bill, but I now wish I hadn’t eaten it because it is giving me indigestion.
Mediocre food
Waitress was very good but it was a Saturday and busy so our party of 10 had our meals delivered at different times, my meal was cold and portion sizes of chips was poor.
Not the best service
At the Worcester bills. Food was really nice. However service was really poor. Staff looked miserable most of the time. The restaurant was quiet for a Friday evening. Had 4 main meals, drinks and desserts. Went for the pancakes as it was £5. Was told we can’t have the discount on the pancakes. That’s fine as I know they were on a promo anyway. But got to the till to pay as no one came over. Said we could not have the discount as we had the pancakes. I took it as we can’t have the discount on the pancakes but can on everything else. In the end they had to put it on 2 different tables to apply the blue light card. This is really poor. As the service was not the best and the evening was ended so badly. I will
Be staying away from bills in the future.
Also I think its really bad to apply a service charge of 12% when you’re being paid anyway. It’s should be optional. We’re not in America.
Elise
Elise, our waitress was superb. Warm welcome, attentive and discreet. What an asset to Bill's.
Our avocado on sourdough was delicious - generous toppings and portions.
Always a pleasure to visit Bills.
Highly recommend.
Chicken shawarma
Chicken shawarma , very disappointed, food on top of flat bread. Very soggy and hard to cut. Not enough chicken
Suggestion, perhaps the flat bread should be cut into quarters and the chicken et al placed beside. Presentation is everything.
Goodness what’s happened
Goodness what’s happened? Fish pie supposed to be cod salmon and prawns. 2 prawns, no cod, and salmon. Re name it potato pie. Chicken shawarma. All piled on to a flatbread which made it soggy. Hardly any chicken. Can’t believe it. We have loved bills for so long. Won’t be returning. BTW We had to wait ages for our meal to arrive😟
I tried to use my Blue Light discount…
I tried to use my Blue Light discount Card at Bills in Exeter for the 20% off the menu, but I was told by the female server that I had to get a code from the Blue Light Card app itself with which to use in tandem with the card. I thought this was very odd. I had a physical BLC Discount card as well as the virtual one in my Google Pay Wallet to use which only had to be swiped or presented to the server upon paying the bill.
I am not sure if the server understood my request or was confused by how my Blue Light Card actually worked. The server only had to put in my Blue Light Card number whilst processing the bill and the 20% discount would have been easily applied
I have never had to get a code from the BLC app to use in conjunction with the BLC card itself. This defeats the object of having such a discount card.
This was very embarrassing for me as I was on a date and had mentioned to my date that I could get us a discount with my BLC.
This unfortunate experience has put me off from going to your diner which is a massive shame because the meal and drinks were fabulous.

Flowerpot desert
You all have to try the flowerpot desert. It was a piece of art on a plate . Yummy to.
I have to start with the staff because…
I have to start with the staff because honestly — they are absolute angels. Warm, welcoming, genuinely lovely… the kind of people that make you want to come back regardless. You can tell they really care, and that deserves proper credit 👏
Now… the pancakes.
Friday morning, and I’m not entirely convinced these pancakes hadn’t already lived a full and meaningful life earlier in the week. A couple of them had the texture of Gandhi’s flip flop — resilient, historic, and frankly not something you’d expect to be chewing through at breakfast.
There’s “fluffy stack” and then there’s “survivor of several reheats,” and sadly this leaned heavily toward the latter. I half expected one to apply for a pension.
It’s such a shame because the vibe is great, the staff are genuinely fantastic, and you want the food to match that energy. Sort the pancake situation out and this place would be unstoppable.
Until then… maybe avoid a late-week stack unless you’re in the mood for a bit of a jaw workout 😅

Had a great experience at Bills in Exeter. Our first time. Monika, our server was lovely and very attentive. My girls loved the chocolate pancakes!
Bluewater branch don’t do breakfast
Went for a breakfast at the Bluewater branch, turned down to be my worst breakfast experience ever turns out the chef can’t cook bacon at all. When my meal arrives breakfast was cold. I brought it to their attention and they said they redo another batch of baking for me. When the baking came out this time, it’s now burned to a crisp literally burnt. Can’t believe that even send it out of the kitchen like that. At this point I gave up and they knocked a little bit of money off my bill. I won’t go there again.
Had the most wonderful last minute walk…
Had the most wonderful last minute walk in dinner. Despite being busy, the food was fast, fresh and hot. Victoria was a superstar, looking after us so well. Thank you 🙏 Southampton branch
