I've been on and off your site for 6 months, waiting to order a medium box. I was forced to order a large because the medium was never in stock.

Much more reasonable than UPS office. Bike arrived two days before the estimated. Very pleased!

Simple. The insurance options gave me peace of mind, and the delivery date was earlier than originally promised.

BikeFlights makes the process easy. Now UPS was a little rough on the bike but it wasn’t your fault.

Really disappointed with the latest bate and switch added charges from bikeflights. They changed the way you need to document measurements and now require you to lay the box in its side and take pictures of it to prevent an uncharge. We took pictures of the box standing up like we always have and they no longer accept these as accurate measurements.

Uncharges suck but they suck even more when the goal posts keep changing.

It was a pretty easy process. Once I got a box for the bike & packed it, I attached the mailing labels and sent it out. Easy.. It got to its destination in great condition a day early! The only reason for the 4 stars is that I spent $150 to send a $100 bike. At least my son was pleased. Thanks.

I reused a free bike box and packing material from my local bike store (had to break down the box and fold it to get it into my small car) and then used Bikeflights to ship. It was the most cost-effective way to get my daughter’s road bike across the USA (California to Delaware) and regain the space in my garage. I watched a YouTube video on how to pack a bike for shipping, detached the handlebars, seat, pedals, and both wheels and then cut the box down to fit the bike, helmet, other gear and all the packing while staying under the next higher shipping price. I just entered the addresses, the cheapest shipping days choice, and box dimensions (45”x12”x30”)/weight (35 lbs) in the Bikeflights website to see the price, pay, and print the shipping label. I dropped it off at the UPS store (there was also an option for UPS to pick up for a small fee) and my daughter got the bike damage-free in 7 day. The cost was just $128, which included $500 protection coverage. It was so much cheaper than any other option I could find, including going direct to UPS. I am highly recommend BikeFlights!

Bike arrive slightly damaged. Scratches on the down tube. A bent rotor on the front wheel. Not to mention some missing bolts that fell off of the stem during shipping somehow, and escaped the box. Consequently , I was unable to ride it when it arrived in San Luis Obispo. Lastly, I received an email from Bike flights saying that UPS was going to charge me an additional $90 because the measurements were slightly larger (less than 1 inch over in one or two dimensions) than stated. However, the measurements I gave were filled in automatically by Bike flights themselves on their website since I was using one of their standardized medium size road bike box. I didn’t measure it, this is a Bike flights box—provided to me by them—so they obviously SHOULD KNOW their own product’s dimensions!!

For me, the ease of getting an estimate was very valuable.

Shipping with BikeFlights went smoothly and timely. Bike box arrived with no damage. I would use BikeFlight again and would recommend BikeFlight to my fellow riders.

It was really easy to use bikeflights to ship a bicycle. I used a box from a bike shop and plugged in the dimensions/weight and printed the slip. Drop off was easy too. Funny story about this experience: The same place I dropped the packed item off for shipping wanted close to three times the amount bikeflights charged. They are an affordable option.

The economics of using this service work if the bike is worth more than $500. If you include the cost of the box, the cost to ship it to your home, and then the cost to ship the bike to its final destination, the total cost, at least for Boston to Miami, was around $500. Your bike needs to be worth more than that obviously to make the numbers work.

The box that I received should have had printed dashed lines at the points where the flat cardboard had to be bent. The instruction video went too fast and wasn’t even for the shape of the boards for the box that I ordered. A simple set of instructions, printed on the boards (bend here, for example) would have made life easier. Finally, the locking tabs were very finicky to push in place and lock as my arm wasn’t long enough to extend to the bottom of the box and make sure the holes lined up to lock. In fact, after locking and testing, one of the twist locks was lost.

It truly has been an aggravation that one now has to prove their shipping sizing. I know you guys state it is the carrier but it is also a reflection on you that it is begging to feel like nickel and diming us. Shipping now is becoming more and more of a hassle to have to prep your shipments to potentially defend yourself after the fact. Note: I have also began to experience that some UPS Stores are beginning to charge for drop offs and to hold packages ($5/day/package). I understand some are independently own but something else to consider

Bikeflights is the way! Especially nowadays when shipping costs have skyrocketed. I priced the same bike shipment out online and it was over 250 bucks more than bikeflights. Not saying it’s affordable, but you’ll save a schitload over retail, and they make it easy. Bikeflights is the way.
