I’ve taken levels 1 to 5 with Nelson at the Berges Institute and can’t say enough great things about him! I started with no Spanish background but the way classes are structured to teach grammar and vocabulary with a textbook made it easy to tackle. Nelson’s personalized approach and chatting at the beginning of each class made it enjoyable. Highly recommend!

My professor (Rolando) broke down complicated topics into smaller and understandable pieces. He explained things in a very direct manner and he made the class a fun experience!

I have been attending Berges for over a year and have been thrilled with my experience. The courses are taught very logically, building upon each lesson to ensure that students retain the information from the preceding lessons. The instructors are all great and are from various parts of the Spanish-speaking world, which means that students have exposure to various accents and language usage to broaden our learning. Finally, there is a ton of flexibility in class schedules, which makes it really convenient for adult learning - if you miss a class, you can switch it to another day easily or take a class twice if you need additional practice. Highly recommend!

I think the classes are well structured and helped improve my Spanish. I had Gloria as my teacher and she was great!

I highly recommend Berges Language Instutute to anyone who wishes to learn Spanish or improve their present level. The Berges- Graff educational program is excellent and the teachers are outstanding.

I just finished a grammar class with Gloria and I'm looking forward to starting the next one. She is a stickler for grammar- in fact, she reminds me of my 7th grade Spanish teacher - Señora Curry- tough, but patient and encouraging. Gloria is just one example of the many fantastic teachers at Berges- Gaston, Juan Carlos, Nelson, Nicholas, Rolando, - you can't go wrong with any of the teachers. They enjoy helping their students improve their comprehension and conversation skills. I don't know what recipe Berges uses to hire Spanish teachers, because they are all stellar blue ribbons! Give them a try! I am thrilled with my decision to improve my Spanish with Berges!

This online Spanish course was amazing! Our instructor Nelson was fabulous; he made the learning fun and was extremely patient. Would highly recommend Berges, especially Nelson! :)

The Beginner's/Level 1 course through Berges was fantastic. Nelson was an amazing teacher and facilitator!

Classes were well-organized and the homework continuously brought back previous lessons, working the content in with the most recent lesson. My professor, Juan Carlos, was great at pacing and making quick corrections, as well as understanding when and why something was confusing and how best to explain the concept.

5 stars for Gloria! She is my first teacher with Berges, I took level 2. She's smart, nice, and a wonderful teacher.

I just finished level 5 with Gloria and I'm SO grateful for my experience! Gloria is such an amazing teacher - she's patient, kind, organized, prepared, and gives really great explanations. Her classes are almost 100% in Spanish but even if something isn't clear, she finds a way to break it down to make sure you can understand it, utilizing different vocabulary and concepts. Level 5 moves really fast and this is my second time completing the course, and I still feel like I need a better grasp on it - I wish this course was twice as long with the same material - but practice makes perfect.

I am a legally blind student and I found the format of the classes at Berges Institute perfect for me. I just finished Level 5 with Gloria, a most patient, friendly and humorous teacher. I absolutely enjoyed her deep knowledge of Spanish and English and she was bble to make all of the students in our class feel welcome and appreciated. Her explanations and mode of teaching made it so much easier for me to tackle this adventure of learning a. new language. She was able to make me feel good about my pace of learning and respected my special needs. I have taken several classes at Berges Institute before and loved them all. I will certainly come back for more!

Everything about the Berges program is great. The materials are excellent and the instructors responsive and knowledgeable. I particularly recommend Nicolas Zuluaga, whose explanations were clear and who took a sincere interest in our comments and questions. You can tell he has a great love for Spanish and enjoys teaching it to non-native speakers.

The instructor, Gloria, was excellent. She is a native speaker from Chile so she knows her Spanish but she is also an excellent teacher. The course was Level 2 and the knowledge / experience level of the people in the class varied quite a bit. Gloria was very good at figuring out where each person was in their Spanish knowledge and meeting them where they were. She could set the bar differently for each student while encouraging them to improve without overwhelming anyone. I have been teaching software courses for decades and know an outstanding teacher when I see one. Gloria was outstanding. I hope to take more courses with Berges.

The Spanish curriculum is at a good level where I’m learning in each class but not feeling left behind. I’ve made a lot of progress, especially with grammar over the last 9 months.

I really enjoyed Level 1 with Nelson. I like the way he explains how words and word usage have evolved. He always encourages his students and I will take Level 2 with Nelson.

Took a chance on Berges after deciding I wanted to learn spanish but needed a more affordable option than an in-person class. I have loved the PDF textbooks and the pace of the course is never too much information at once but still forces you to practice on your own and utilize other tools of study. I’ve had so many great teachers there, Nelson, Sofia, Juan, all with their own unique and wonderful teaching style, but for now I’ve settled on Gloria, who is fun, challenging and pushes you outside your comfort zone. I look forward to continuing into session 3 and plan to take these classes for a few more years until I can get conversational. Thank you Berges for the affordable class options that fit into a working adult schedule!

I have taken Spanish levels 1 through 3 and have found the the teaching have been awesome. I will have to say that I still struggle with holding a fluent conversation but I am able to read and comprehend in the Spanish language and I owe all of that to Nicolás, who is a phenomenal teacher. I do that which they had options for you to review the prior lessons if you missed a class, but Other than that I had a great experience.

It was an incredible experience with the instructor Mr Nelson Navarrete. I feel improving my spanish thanks to his excellent methodology of teaching.

I've taken 3 of the grammar classes and a lot of the conversation classes. I've found all of their teachers to be patient, knowledgeable, and kind. It's really taken my Spanish to a level I never thought I'd achieve.

I've taken level 3 and 4 courses with Rolando, who is a very effective teacher. He gets the group to speak at the start of every class, which helps our Spanish skills. He's comfortable letting me struggle so that I can continue to practice and learn. He doesn't just review the priror homework and teach the scheduled lesson. He tailors classes to our needs. I look forward to level 5.
I do wish that Berges had more options to keep you on track when you cannot make a scheduled class.
