Both my wife and I would struggle to find words that would convey our admiration, thanks and appreciation for the care and kindness of both Chris and Di of Barnshaw Pet Crematorium.
They stepped in during a time of great distress after our beloved dog Brinks passed away suddenly and came and collected him next morning for his final journey.

They were total professionals, very caring, giving advice and understanding while we were still in a tornado of grief.

We could not, and would not have got through the process without them and we have NO hesitation of recommending them and the company as the benchmark other companies in the industry be measured against.

When we lost our cat suddenly, Chris saw us that day and was so compassionate, kind and caring. Everything was spoken through and handled with care. They made this emotional situation feel less overwhelming and there was no rush to say our goodbyes. Pick up was fast, so was nice to bring our boy home when we was ready, where everything was beautifully handed over. They are fantastic at what they do and I highly recommend their excellent service.

Excellent service, very impressed with the care and compassion showed when we lost our beloved merlin, would recommend them to all my friends that own pets.

Silver Gate Vets and Chris at Barnshaw Pet Crematorium were so professional and understanding when we had to say goodbye to our beloved dog Hooch. It was the hardest thing we have had to do but Michaela the vet and Chris from Barnshaw were so lovely and gave us plenty of time to say our goodbyes. We were able to pick Hooch’s ashes up the next day and they were presented in a lovely container with a beautiful card. Thank you so much for everything.

I can’t explain how amazing our experience was here. There is something about the people and locations that make this the most lovely place at the worst of times.
We were treated with such kindness and our cherished Skittles was cared for in such a beautiful way.

Both Barnshaw and Silvergate Vets made this awful day more bearable. They treated my 17 year old vizsla with utmost respect and gave me the time to say goodbye properly. It was my first experience of having to have a beloved dog pts and I am so grateful I found them on google. As I have 5 more dogs when their time comes I will definitely use them again.

Everyone at Barnshaw has been brilliant in helping us with the cremation of our beautiful cat Alfie. I'm so glad I found them locally instead of entrusting him to our veterinary practice. Diane, Chris and Katherine were all compassionate and efficient at such a difficult time and we were amazed that the ashes were ready for collection so soon. They were presented to us beautifully, with personal touches and we are so grateful to them for making the day easier to bear. Thank you all so much.

The care, dignity, thoughtfulness, sensitive respectful communication, professional, warm, personal service, opportunity to take our time to say "Good-bye" with our much loved pet Beau'ful.
From the very first communication with Chris through to seeing both, Chris and Diane on the most horrible day of my life and then a day later to bring our beloved BooBoo back home, there has been at every turn, time, warmth, personal service, personalities, thought, respect, and as we found out, genuine empathy from the business owners.
At no point was any of my wifes or my requests too much or made to feel that enough is enough...nothing was too much.
On the day itself, apart from being bloody horribly sad and emotional, we were met by Diane who helped with my wife (due to personal health reasons). Repeatedly asked if I would like help getting BooBoo from the car to the little reception/Grace room.
Was there with me but never pushy, never overstepped at any point into my personal space unless I buckled..very sweet and professional.
Gave my wife and I time with our dog and yet was respectfully close and yet professionally spaced at all times.

Yes, there is a fee. In line with much larger businesses that DONT offer a bespoke guaranteed 1-2-1 service.
We knew that our sweet BooBoo was going to be the only dog/pet going through the process and was being treated with dignity, respect and professionalism that I wanted for her.
The little extras ie paw & nose prints are a lovely little extra keepsake. Yes upsetting now, right this minute...but I know in time, these will prove to be beautiful keepsakes from the 15yrs we had our dog.
Boo, was communicated to me by Chris that she was ready to be collected..yep, straight there to collect with an agreed time to do so.
Got BooBoo back and yep..beautifully presented, personal and respectful.
My wife and incannkt thank and or praise Barnshaw Pet crematorium in Tenterden enough for everything. We wish them every success in providing a respectful, dignified end to an owners pet.
They are pet owners themselves, so are fully aware of the emotional connection pet owners have and therefore they put this emotional understanding into every step of the procedure with your pet.

The team at Barnshaw were brilliant. We were able to take our wonderful Gerry boy out for a final drive and drop him off with them straight away. They were extremely friendly, reassuring and empathetic and their service was first class. Just what you need at such a distressing time. I can’t thank them enough.

When I had to say goodbye to my best friend Pippa (best Jack Russell in the world) I was devastated. Di arrived at my home to collect her, at no point was I rushed to say my goodbyes. Pippa was dealt with respect and dignity like she deserved. I explained I had never spent a night without her so Di and Chris amazingly got her back to me the same day - I won't ever be able to thank them enough for this. It's taken me a while to be able to write this (RIP Pips June 1st 2025). Chris and Di - thanks for looking after her for me. I know 100% you were the right people to choose and you made the process manageable at a difficult time.

When we lost our beautiful dog Tilly we contacted Di at Barnshaw We are so glad we did We were completely beyond devastation at our loss.
I cannot thank Di and her husband taking such good care of everything. We were able to bring Tilly’s ashes home the following day. Their kindness understanding and compassion was incredible Thank you

As soon as we pulled up to the crematorium we knew it was the right decision.. The location is beautiful and peaceful. Di welcomed us with an open heart. We were still both emotional and distraught after the sudden death of our lovely dog.. A few days later we picked up her ashes that were beautiful presented in a box. Forever grateful to Barnshaws… 🙏🫶🏼

My Husband & I are so grateful to you at Barnshaw how you took the greatest of care of our boy Teddy, It was Heartbreaking losing Ted as it was so sudden and unexpected- Our vets "The Olive tree" recommended you to us and we were so touched how Teddy came home to us in such a special way with his lovely paw prints, and little jars of fur and wooden heart, we knew he had been taken the best of care of - It made such a difficult time and you made it a little easier with your care and compassion and we are both very grateful to you...Kind regards Ray & Verona Clatworthy

Sadly late on Tuesday night (27th May) we had to say goodbye to our beautiful German Shepherd Rick. Having him from a pup and celebrating his 10th birthday in March he was a treasured member of our family, at such a difficult time it was so comforting to speak to someone as understanding as Chris who took good care of our boy. We now have him home and will forever be grateful to Chris and Diane for their support ❤️.
