I still haven’t received my camera that was warranty, should have never taken this long and also I am tired of having to log in all the time to look at my pictures, all other cameras I have been using I don’t have to do that

Barn owl. Great concept but no support
I have had a barn owl camera for a little over a year, and it has not worked properly for more than a month since I first installed it. When the problems first started BO would answer the phone and try to help but now they don’t answer the phone, or chat, or email. They have a mechanism to schedule a phone call, but on the several occasions I tried that they didn’t respond. The list of excuses is lengthy, vendors slow to react to software issues, employees on vacation or quitting, my cell provider changing signals or something. They have replaced my camera 6 times. The only thing that they do well is charge me for their service. I don’t write reviews but hope this one will save someone else from climbing a ladder to troubleshoot or change their camera as many times as I have.

You're right that six replacements is a lot. We were determined to get your camera performing well at the exact location you wanted. In the vast majority of cases we're able to get a great signal. But cellular coverage is a moving target: carriers reshuffle their networks over time, and a spot that worked great can become genuinely difficult or lose signal altogether.

Unfortunately had a pretty bad experience with the team at Barn Owl. They had advertised a promotion in their website that, when you put it in the cart or attempted to select the promotion it would default to standard pricing. I contacted the team, as I had done quite a bit of research before selecting them as a potential supplier. Upon contact, the CSR I spoke with refused to honor the advertised pricing, even after I provided the exact wording reflecting the discount. After multiple back and forth on that same phone conversation, he defaulted to “well, I can give you a 20% discount, which was still $90 over the promotion offered. He finally said he would get with his manager, as he was seeing the promotional wording, and he would call back within an hour.
As of yet I STILL have not heard back. As a customer service manager of over 40 years, this was a very poor reflection on the company as a whole, as unfortunate as it is.
Given this experience, I can say that while their product appears to be good, the customer service backing the company has a serious deficit in their training system, and will possibly lose a lot more customers in the future.
I won’t say to not purchase their product, but expect a poor CE experience if any issues arise.

No human at all
First of all, is there a human at Barn Owl? We have had a camera down since March 2026 and have yet to reach a human. Absolutely the worse customer service we have experienced anywhere. And it used to be so good! Why sell cameras if you can’t keep them in service? I feel like our problem could have been fixed if we had been able to speak to a human. We are going to switch to Tacticam. I would give this zero stars if I could.

New SIM Card Fixed Our RangeCam 4G
Our camera stopped transmitting photos on July 18. We tried all the troubleshooting steps we were instructed to take and still no transmission. Eventually, we were shipped a new SIM card and with the instructions we were given, we were able to install it and get our camera working again. This is the second time in four years that we've needed to do this. The AI chat was decent, but the email instructions are what helped us the most. Thank you.

Absolutely Horrible
Absolutely horrible if you need to actually speak with someone. I had to call 6 times before I actually spoke to a real person. Bart AI was good for basic troubleshooting but that did not fix my issue.
Whoever designed the call tree progression for transferring the call from Bart to a live person should be taken out and flogged. An absolute horrible experience.
When I was able to actually talk with a person she was helpful. I feel bad for her since she is the only one working. As of right now I have been on the phone over 20 minutes and am listening to really bad elevator music. Who knows if and or when I will actually get an answer.
