Service was less then average when I was collected from the airport had to wait 20 minutes to get some service due to only 1 staff member on the desk The other person just wandered in and out
No restroom facility and the keys were just handed to me and was pointed in the general direction Had to press key to see which car I was getting

We had a good experience with the personnel at Darwin Airport pick up regarding picking up and dropping off the vehicle. We were concerned about a message that came up when we started the vehicle relating to a service required. We queried this with the call centre and they told us to ignore this. While not a do or die thing it is something that was concerning us.

We hired a car in Darwin and received excellent service from the 2 young men upon checkin. The vehicle was spotless. Very easy checkin and would highly recommend Bargain Car Rentals.

The pick up and drop off experience was seamless. My call for an airport pick up was responded to immediately and I was picked up within minutes.
The car great and the drop off process worked so well.

The initial hiring and pick up was really quick and easy, and it was the same with the drop off. And the staff were some of the friendliest working people I’ve come across.

A problem arriving in Darwin airport. You need to call the office to get the shuttle. Problem : when you call with an international number, the office cannot get the call !
Hopefully I had booked via booking.com. I called them and they called Bargain office. And the shuttle arrived...
They have to change that : very stressful.
On another issue : you have to consider they rent quite aged cars (I got a MG HS. Very difficult to use Carplay, compared to a modern Toyota for example).
Anyway, staff is very nice and helful.

When I booked a car on line the fact that it was not at the airport was not obviously stated, appearing as minor text at the bottom of the page simply saying 'off site'. I would not have booked with Bargain if I had been aware of this. Moreover, when I arrived at airport to find no Bargain kiosk or staff I rang the provided number, ordered a shuttle (dialing 7 from Darwin) but none arrived. I was provided with an automated msg with a map of Melbourne Airport! I rang again and was told as it was Sunday afternoon the office was closed and I would have to pick my car up the following day. I called 3 more times and finally managed to secure a shuttle to pick up my car - 2 hours later! I won't be renting from Bargain again and I will be providing commensurate reviews to TripAdvisor, Google Reviews etc. Also the price was expensive and the staff tried to trick me into purchasing excess insurance telling me that my third party travel insurance was invalid with Bargain. I watched another customer fall for this - it is a scam.
