The strawberry "tart" had a cake base which meant it lacked the crunchy texture to offset the custard. It also meant that in places it was essentially mush as it couldn't hold all the liquid.

Incredible customer service
I went into the shop to buy a few pastries for my partner’s birthday, and upon telling the staff that this is my partner’s favourite bakery, we had a great chat about the bakery and the pastries, before they recommended others and even gave me some for free. Truly exceptional customer service - on top of the pastries being exceptional. I only regret that I don’t live close enough to come every day.

Birthday Surprise
Thank you for making my daughter’s birthday special! She is in London for grad school, and Aux Pains de Papy delivered a birthday treat to her dorm room. This mom in the United States appreciated the care given on our family’s special day.

Croissant that is better than 80% of bakeries in Paris, let alone London. Truly masterful. I was specifically taken by a friend as I didn't believe them when they told me this- now I do.

Showstopper cake
Really delicious raspberry showstopper cake decorated beautifully, just the right sharpness of fruit, creamy white chocolate mousse on thin sponge layers made such an elegant dessert for our celebration.

Efficient and happy service with delicious cakes!
A large order was completed in less than 24 hours, it was ready and waiting as promised on arrival, the service in the shop was lovely and welcoming and the selection of patisserie we had were stunning in their presentation and delicious. I shall certainly be coming back!

Worth a trip if only for a croissant.
I stumbled across this great pastry cafe in Gray’s Inn Road. Amazing delicious flakey pastry (better than I had in Paris) with lovely customer service. I would recommended a trip whoever you are near Kings Cross Station.

The power of a smile
The power of a genuine smile is the seed of quality service. Glad to see that there are still places like Aux Pains de Papy in London where one can experience good truthful service. On top of that the chocolate/almond croissant and hot chocolate is great. Starbucks, Pret, Nero and the likes should send their trainees to learn by example. We would all start our days in greater spirits. He who sees, he sees!
