Don't make a reservation.
On January 17, 2026, due to the extremely long passport control queue at the airport, they refused to give us the car we had paid for and rented a week in advance because we had exceeded one hour. The employee at the office was very rude. They said Autovia doesn't have a call center and could only be reached by email, but they only responded negatively to our email after six days. My wife, two children, and I were stranded at the airport, unable to find a car from other companies. The frantic search for a bus and running around the airport with our luggage made for a terrible day. Not only did they refuse to give us the car, but they also refused to refund the money; we feel like we were scammed.

When a vehicle is not collected within the scheduled tolerance time, the procedure follows the rental terms; however, we sincerely regret that you did not experience the understanding, support, and courtesy that our team should always provide.
We are also sorry about the delay in responding to your email and about how the communication was handled. This does not reflect the standards of care and professionalism that Autovia s.r.l. strives to uphold.
As noted, our Customer Care department will reassess your case to review the possibility of a refund and will contact you directly with an update.

Very good experience.
We got a better car than booked.
The car was in good condition and clean inside.
The attendant was nice.
No insurance was offered. They simply asked if we wanted to pay a smaller or larger deposit.We paid a larger amount.
It took 29 days to get the deposit back.

Niet doen!!!
Meest achterlijke autoverhuurbedrijf waar ik ooit mee te maken heb gehad.
We hadden perongeluk de verkeerde naam op de boeking gezet en toen we deze bij de balie wilde omboeken moesten we onze reservering annuleren van de maatschappij en opnieuw boeken. Dit kostte ons nog eens €60 extra voor de annuleringskosten ondanks dat we direct opnieuw gingen boeken.
Daarnaast stond op de site aangegeven dat de prijs voor 5 dagen €150 euro zou zijn INCLUSIEF verzekering.
Bij de balie hebben we hier nog eens €135 euro extra voor moeten bij betalen.
Een gewaarschuwd mens telt voor twee, boek niet bij deze verhuurder.

Please note that, for security and regulatory reasons, the booking must always be made in the exact name of the person who will sign the rental agreement and present the credit card. If a name is entered incorrectly, the reservation must be reissued through the intermediary, who may apply cancellation or modification fees that are not managed by Autovia.
Regarding pricing, the rate displayed by external platforms usually includes only standard coverage, while optional protection packages or deductible reductions may be offered at the counter to provide greater peace of mind during the rental.
We regret that this was not clearly explained at the time of booking, and we thank you for your feedback — it helps us improve transparency and communication.

Ich hatte ernsthaft Sorgen, nachdem ich die ganzen Reviews gelesen hatte. Deshalb habe ich über SunnyCars und ohne Kreditkarte gebucht. Bei Autovia lief am Ende aber alles absolut reibungslos, der Wagen war gepflegt und in einem sehr gutem Zustand. Ich habe ein Protokoll der Kratzer bei Antritt und nach Abgabe des Wagens per E-Mail bekommen. Wenn ich nochmal nach Venedig reise, entscheide ich mich garantiert wieder für AutoVia.

Worst rental experience of my life
Worst rental experience of my life! Rude and unprofessional staff, zero support, and in the end a complete scam attempt. They tried to charge me €1,500 for a two-day rental that cost only €180. The car was already in terrible condition when handed over – I documented everything with photos and videos – they even told me to document the damages at the pickup - at the return I told he person, showed the video and evidence, he said I should just upload it and won’t be a problem at all, he has all damages on his list - yet after returning it, they started inventing fake damage claims, stating the damages weren’t there. No reaction to pictures and videos.
This is not an isolated case – just read the other reviews! Their entire business model seems to be built on scamming customers with bogus claims and endless invoices. You don’t just rent a car here, you buy yourself weeks of stress, frustration, and fighting to get your money back.
Avoid this company like the plague – they are scammers!
