Je tiens à faire part de mon profond mécontentement concernant cette agence de location de voitures, tant au niveau de l’accueil que du professionnalisme et de la gestion de notre dossier.
Dès notre arrivée, nous avons été très mal accueillis. Le personnel s’est montré peu aimable, peu disponible et surtout très peu professionnel. Nous avons eu le sentiment de déranger plutôt que d’être considérés comme des clients.
Plus grave encore, le véhicule qui nous a été remis présentait manifestement un problème. À peine quelques minutes après avoir quitté l’agence, plusieurs voyants se sont allumés et le véhicule est finalement tombé en panne. Cette situation est particulièrement inadmissible lorsqu’un véhicule est loué à un client et qu’il est censé avoir été contrôlé et être en parfait état de fonctionnement.
Face à ce problème, nous aurions attendu une prise en charge rapide, professionnelle et surtout un minimum de considération. Malheureusement, l’attitude de l’agence n’a fait qu’aggraver notre mécontentement.
Cette expérience témoigne d’un réel manque de sérieux, de professionnalisme et de respect envers le client. Je déconseille fortement cette agence et j’espère que cette réclamation permettra de remettre en question leurs pratiques et la qualité de leurs services.

nous sommes désolés pour l’expérience que vous décrivez, tant au niveau de l’accueil que du problème rencontré avec le véhicule.
Un véhicule qui présente plusieurs voyants quelques minutes seulement après le départ et qui tombe ensuite en panne est une situation qui doit être prise en charge avec attention. En cas de panne mécanique non imputable au client, l’assistance routière ainsi que la mise à disposition d’un véhicule de remplacement sont prévues dans nos conditions de location.
Nous regrettons donc que, dans cette situation, vous n’ayez pas eu le sentiment de recevoir une assistance suffisamment rapide et attentive.
Nous sommes également désolés pour l’attitude du personnel telle que vous la décrivez. Un client confronté à une panne doit pouvoir recevoir des informations claires et une assistance professionnelle.

we are sorry for the experience you describe.
We understand your frustration, but we cannot accept Autovia being described as an “insurance scam”. A protection purchased through a broker is separate from the protection plans offered by Autovia and does not automatically replace the rental guarantee requirements.
Autovia protection plans are optional. However, when the customer does not meet the standard guarantee requirements, for example because an eligible credit card is not available, the branch may in some cases propose an alternative solution that includes full protection and allows the rental to proceed.
This solution is not compulsory: the customer remains free to accept it or refuse it. If it is refused and the standard requirements for vehicle collection are not met, the car may not be released.

Wanted a credit card with my full name on it, no card has this in the UK, its initials and your sir name, that wad the car from.the broker denied, they they offered me a car straight from them 3x the price of the 1st car and my card is fine to use for that. we are sorry for the experience you describe, but we cannot accept Autovia being described as a “scam” or accused of targeting tourists.
For the rental guarantee, the credit card must be in the name of the main renter and must allow the cardholder to be identified correctly. Where the card shows only initials, abbreviations or an incomplete name, additional documentation may be requested to confirm that the card belongs to the person named on the rental.
These requirements are not limited to local customers and are communicated in the rental conditions and in the information provided through booking platforms.
You also state that the same card was subsequently accepted for a new rental made directly at the desk. This does not necessarily mean that the original booking requirements were ignored: a new rental may be concluded under different conditions or through an alternative solution proposed by the branch. The customer is always free to accept or refuse such a proposal.
We understand why the difference in price and the acceptance of the same card may have appeared contradictory, but these circumstances do not mean that Autovia deliberately refuses broker reservations in order to charge tourists more.

A horrible experience with Autovia Ecovia at Fiumicino Airport, Rome
We had a terrible experience during the rental pickup. On July 11, 2026, at around 13:00, my wife, our two children, and I (Yekutiel Rot) arrived at the Ecovia desk at Fiumicino - Leonardo da Vinci Airport (Booking Reference Number: ECO-26242335.
The representative at the counter, Veronica, adamantly claimed that the credit card in our possession—the very card used to make the booking—did not meet their company requirements. This was despite us thoroughly verifying back home before booking that the card met all necessary conditions. The card is a physical plastic card, registered under my name, with embossed details, and issued by VISA.
Veronica refused to call a supervisor, refused to connect us with anyone from Economy Bookings by phone, and strongly insisted that for our vehicle to be insured, we had to pay an additional €294. This was unreasonable, as we had already paid for full insurance coverage when booking in advance through Economy Bookings.
Left with no choice, we paid the €294 because we wanted peace of mind and were terrified of driving an uninsured vehicle. We felt completely trapped, as we had already prepaid for the entire reservation, including insurance, roadside assistance, and all required features.
The service provided by Veronica and her colleague at the desk, Cristian, was distant, unhelpful, and borderline hostile. Because we voiced our strong frustration, she wanted to get rid of us and "upgraded" us to a slightly higher-class vehicle than originally booked. This did nothing to improve how we felt—we continued our trip with a deep sense of distress and the clear realization that we had been scammed.
We demand a full refund of this amount, a formal apology, and financial compensation for the emotional distress caused. Should we not receive proper compensation promptly, we will share our story with our network and across all available platforms, warning everyone to NEVER do business with Ecovia or Economy Bookings.
I expect a prompt response regarding the resolution of this matter.

we are sorry about how the pick-up was handled at Fiumicino. A physical credit card in the driver’s name is required and must also meet the rental guarantee requirements. Coverage purchased through Economy Bookings is separate from Autovia’s contractual protection and does not replace the card requirements.
When a card is not considered eligible, full coverage may be offered as an optional solution allowing the rental to proceed. However, its cost and conditions must be explained clearly, without giving the impression that the vehicle would otherwise be uninsured.
We understand your anger, but we cannot accept Autovia/Ecovia being described as a scam. The card refusal, the €294 charge and the conduct reported at the desk require a review of the documents. Please send the voucher, rental agreement and payment receipt to customercare@autovia.it, without providing your full card details. The refund request can be assessed once the case has been reviewed.

Personale del desk gentile e professionale, celerità nell'erogazione del servizio, addetti alla consegna gentili e disponibili. Auto nuova, super pulita.
Unica pecca negativa l'impossibilità di comunicare con il servizio clienti, attraverso nessun canale ( contatto telefonico, mail ) dopo aver ritirato veicolo, avendo bisogno di richiedere la fattibilità di un estensione del periodo di noleggio.

Ho noleggiato un'auto piccola per meno di 24 ore. La signora in accettazione mi ha cambiato il veicolo con un segmento 2 volte più grande, senza sovrapprezzo. Il costo in più l'ho trovato appena ho pagato la kaskoo. Ho chiesto spiegazioni e mi è stato detto che c'erano stati aumenti ma il motivo risiede nel noleggio della vettura più grande. Prossima volta impongo di mantenere quanto ordinato, per il resto ottima esperienza.

Il passaggio a una categoria superiore non comporta un costo aggiuntivo sul noleggio, ma il prezzo della copertura Kasko può variare in base al segmento del veicolo. Questo aspetto avrebbe dovuto esserle spiegato con chiarezza prima dell’acquisto.
Terremo conto della sua segnalazione per rendere più trasparenti le informazioni al banco.

ci dispiace per l’insistenza percepita nella proposta delle coperture aggiuntive e per l’attesa di un’ora prima di ritirare l’auto.
Le coperture extra sono sempre facoltative e devono essere illustrate senza creare pressione. Anche le indicazioni per raggiungere il veicolo dovrebbero essere più chiare e la procedura più rapida.
Terremo conto della sua segnalazione per migliorare sia l’accoglienza al banco sia l’organizzazione del ritiro.

Absolutely appalling treatment of customers. We arrived with a credit card that only displayed intials and surname, not full name.
We were told we had 2 options. Cancel the booking and lose the paid amount or take the extra insurance at £323.50.
Sorry what??? We had already paid for insurance with the rental and all of a sudden the credit card with just the initials is good enough to pay £323.50! How on earth does that make an inch of sense!!!!!!!

we are sorry for the inconvenience. The card used as a guarantee must be physical, in the customer’s name, and must allow staff to clearly verify that it matches the name on the booking. A card showing only initials may therefore not be accepted for the security deposit.
Paying for a service and using a card as a rental guarantee are, however, two different transactions. The full coverage offered at the desk was an optional solution which, by removing the excess, could allow the rental to proceed even without a card meeting the standard guarantee requirements.
We understand that the explanation you received may have seemed unclear, and we are sorry that the service did not meet your expectations.
