We had a very pleasant rent! We got a car upgrade and had no problems. The only room for improvement was a little long waiting time when receiving the car of about 1h.

Scam damage charges
We were charged £745 for two 3mm stone chips in the Windscreen. I definitively don’t recall anything hitting the screen whilst driving so I am convinced they were pre existing. (They were almost invisible) The charge is disproportionate . Chips that small are repairable.
In addition the company couldn’t provide the car we booked (an auto). The car they did provide was dirty both inside and out
I feel we were targeted because we did not use the company’s own excess insurance. As the rep asked this before he inspected the car. Of course he denied this is company policy.
I will not be using this company again ever and recommend you don’t either.

Value for money and trustworthy.
We visited Florence about one and a half month ago and I highly recommend Autovia Firenze Santa Maria Novela office. The man at the counter was very kind and helpful and he offered us immediately the kind of the car we needed, since we were frustrated because of a booking with another office that had felt through. They offered also full insurance coverage and 24h free parking in Santa Maria Novela Station Parking, that’s a great relief with the ZTL restrictions. The picking up and return of the car is very easy, you just take it from and return it in the underground parking. Thanks to Autovia and its personnel we had a comfortable and amusing trip.

TERRIBILI
Ho pagato Autovia per noleggiare una macchina, ma al momento del ritiro mi è stato negato il veicolo perché non avevo una carta di credito, requisito che non era stato specificato prima del pagamento. Mi hanno fatto pagare senza avvertirmi di questa condizione fondamentale, una pratica scorretta e ingannevole.
Ho cercato di risolvere con il servizio clienti, ma l’operatore Valerio è stato maleducato e irrispettoso, arrivando addirittura a chiudermi il telefono in faccia senza darmi alcuna spiegazione o soluzione.
Un’esperienza pessima, da evitare assolutamente. Autovia non solo non è trasparente nelle condizioni di noleggio, ma il loro servizio clienti è assolutamente scandaloso.
Ho perfino provato a riprenotare l’auto per verificare che la notifica della necessità della carta di credito fosse ben visibile, e non lo era per niente.

I rented a Skoda Scala from Autovia…
I rented a Skoda Scala from Autovia Firenze Stazione. Almost a month after returning the car, I was accused of causing an alleged scratch on the rear left door – cost: €292. The photos provided by the company do not clearly show any damage, and there is no visible scratch in the photos I took myself.
They gave me a 7-day deadline to pay, but I have not received any response from customer service for over 24 hours. Emails remain unanswered.
It seems like a very similar case to the one stated in the italian Trustpilot review by RICHIUSA SERGIO from may 9th 2025 (1 month before my rental). It might have even been the same car...

Coche sucio y sin revisar y sin asumir responsabilidades. No alquiléis con Autovía, no son de fiar.
Son unos impresentables e irresponsables. Habíamos reservado personalmente un coche en la estación de Florencia el día anterior y cuando fuimos el día siguiente a recogerlo, estaba totalmente sucio, lleno de polvo y lo que es más grave, sin revisar los niveles del coche, lo cual lo hacía más inseguro y arriesgado de quedarnos tirados en nuestro viaje o haber tenido un accidente. Le reclamamos al personal que nos atendió, pidiéndoles otro coche, que no queríamos otro, pero nos dijeron que no tenían más, que era ese o ninguno, por lo que tuvimos que coger ése, ya que teníamos un compromiso de llegar a un lugar esa tarde. Nos dijo que pusiesemos una reclamación a Atención al cliente, cosa que hicimos, y que después de varios mensajes, nos dicen que nosotros somos los responsables por haberlo aceptado....!!! Increible...., jamás volveré a reservar un coche con esta Compañía de tramposos y mentirosos, y recomiendo que nadie lo haga.

Grosseria no atendimento
Apesar da ausência de um dos documentos necessários para a locação, nada justifica a grosseria do atendente desde o minuto em que pisamos na agência. A todo momento o atendente agiu com grosseria, como se fosse superior.

Nous avons loué une voiture à la gare de Florence. Introuvable sur le parking à l'étage qui nous avait été indiqué, l'employé a dû se déplacer pour la trouver 30 minutes plus tard et nous l'apporter dans la voie des taxis qui klaxonnaient car nous les empêchions de passer le temps de monter nos bagages et de prendre quelques photos. Heureusement que nous en avons pris quand même carla vérification au moment de rendre la voiture a lui été très minutieux ( au point d'essuyer la carrosserie pour voir d'éventuelles rayures!). Un rayure nous a été reprochée. Nous ne validons pas le check out et recevons plus tard un mail qui nous accuse d'avoir endommagé..... l'enjoliveur cette fois! Nous avons une photo pour prouver que c'était déjà là avant même si ce n'est pas noté dans le contrat de départ ( comme par hasard...). La procédure est donc en cours. Si vous ne voulez pas perdre de temps avec des gens malhonnêtes, passez votre chemin!
